  1. Just took a shower, I think this is the location of impact. Maybe I am panicking, but after 2450 grafts in 5 years, it all felt like a rollercoaster. This touch up was the 'last' step and now I am so worried.
  2. I called the assistant, but she didn't sound as if she really had knowledge of it.
  3. Bumped my head quite hard, I am just 5 days post surgery. I got 300 grafts transplanted (touch up). No blood so I know I haven't dislodged any grafts. There isn't any visible trauma/swelling.At this stage, just 5 days post-op, can this incident lead to follicle dead? I presume grafts are still very vulnerable so could impact like this (hit, bump) kill grafts, even without blood? Like, you can break a bone without damaging the skin.. Thanks guys.
  4. Look really good😍. Love the hairline design, suits your face very good. Yes indeed there is some crusting, and somewhat more that I usually see. But nothing to worry about iho. Good luck!
  5. Yes indeed. I even see grafts hanging in the cloth he is using.
  6. Looks like over-harvesting, transections, and handling with no care at all. The surgeon is going way to fast while extracting...I got such an uncomfortable feeling when watching so I wanted to share haha. I am right, or do I exaggerate? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9a9d2jGkj0A
  7. I just got a 300 graft hairline touch up (yesterday). Usually I take collagen, amino acids, whey powder, daily but after searching 'what not to take after a hair transplant' I stumbled on a website from a Turkish clinic which says: Dietary supplements such as amino acids and proteins should not be taken within 1 month after the hair transplant. Otherwise, the hair follicles may weaken and the hair transplant may fail (source: removed I never read this before and I don't want to take any risks with this touch up. But I don't like the 'feeling' stopping my regime for 1 month. So what is your opinion about this, can I continue my dietary supplements?
  8. So if an existing hair is trapped underneath of a newly placed graft there will still grow one hair (or two)?
  9. In two weeks a get a second hair transplant (+-200 grafts) to add density to my hairline. The previous transplant was 13 months ago. I worry about the following: yesterday I played with my little nephew (6 years old), while playing he pulled some of my hair out (ouch!). I guess 4-5 hair in my hairline. Definitely transplanted hairs. Is it possible for my surgeon to see where the hairs have been pulled out? And what happens if he doesn't see it and place grafts on top of the pulled out hairs (not grafts of course)? Will the exisiting graft be transected and both not grow? I can worry about the smallest things regarding my hair (transplant) so maybe you can ease my mind...or not haha.
  10. Thanks! I added some photo's with longer hair. Thanks!
  11. After my successful hair transplant, a friend of mine is also interested. Before he steps to a clinic; is he a candidate (also in terms of donor)? He mainly wants to fill the crown and possibly add density the front. How many grafts are you thinking of?
  12. Nope, nothing. But using finasteride (and topical minoxidil) for 17 years now.
  13. Thank you @JohnAC71! Really curious what the doc thinks about this. Especially because the quite high dosage and strong vasoconstricting capability.
  14. Thank you Claus! I am already using minox for a while so I think I am gonna resume my medication :).
  15. 5 months ago I had a hair transplant. From that point on, I stopped taking my medication for ADHD. This because I had read that Methylphenidate (type of amphetamine) is a strong vasoconstrictor. I had reasoned that continuing to use it might reduce or worsen the blood supply to the grafts. I have done research, but I can't find an answer (only found the photo below). I imagine that even now it could be harmful to some grafts (which are not growing yet) if the blood supply is obstructed. Many grafts are already growing, and every now and then one pops up again. So the process is still going on, I don't want to affect it negatively. Of course I have asked my doctor this question but really didn't get a clear answer. I use a fairly high dose or ritalin (=methylphenidate); 70mg per day (4x 15 mg 1x 10mg). I would very much like to take my medication again (haven't used it for 5 months), it really affects my daily life. Can I or could I still harm my grafts?
  16. Some MinoxidilMax formulations does contain some Retinol to enhance absorption of Minoxidil.
  17. Thanks @JohnAC71! I know that I cannot dislodge a grafts <10 days after surgery. I was just afraid that the follicle is still very vulnerable after 2 months, and that plucking in this stage can result in damage to the follicle. Same as repeated plucking of (native) hair can cause permanent loss of the hair...
  18. I accidentally plucked a new grown hair (with a trimmer), two months after my FUE hair transplant. Will this eventually grow back? Or did I damage the follicle since it was transplanted recently (thus vulnerable)... Luckily it was just one hair, but still...
  19. @Melvin-Moderatoris this 'real' growth do you think? (what you describe)
