  1. Personally I think your goals are borderline absurd and that you're destined to be met with a result that is unlikely to meet your expectations; not to mention the fact that if you are indeed balding (and I concur with the others here who suggest you almost certainly are) you'll effectively be committing follicular harikiri.

Take your time, get authoritative analysis done by an expert to determine if you have MPB. If you are still dead-set on a HT, I would suggest a fin/minox regime first and then assess whether your're stable. Discuss expectations with the surgeon in question (I'm betting no surgeon is going to do what you appear to want done) and determine whether you're likely to be satisfied with a more realistic outcome.

    There is no rush. :)

  2. Did this guy really need any work done? To be honest. I think the before pics look better and will mature better with his age.

That's just your subjective opinion of hairline aesthetics though. The work looks exemplary, as it so often does from this clinic.

Personally, I don't see a huge problem with increasing the density in the hairline and touching up the temple points, doesn't seem like the hairline has been lowered much at all. I think the hairstyle accentuates the impression. Tbh, it would be nicer to see post-op pics that expose it, though I understand the patient has sent these.

  3. Hi Redchicken,

I wouldn't worry about finasteride damaging your hair. Most of the stories posted online about this occurring are anecdotal and are more likely to be cases in which the drug was ineffective at the hairline. I would surmise that the patient has seen the continuation of the hair loss that was likely to occur irrespective of their taking finasteride.

It is unlikely to miraculously restore a thinning hairline to its former glory but could still have a distinctly positive effect. I had a pretty decent anterior response to fin/min (which you can view via my profile if interested) and am happy i took the decision to begin taking it, even though (as you describe) i only had mild thinning/recession. Personally I didn't notice much of a shed initially but am confident it has thickened my hair throughout the scalp and even had an impact at the hairline.

Best of luck whatever you decide!

  4. I'd say both temples have receded somewhat and there may be a little frontal hairline thinning. Starting treatment could definitely be a good option for you. However, you still have what appears to be a good head of hair by and large.

Just my opinion and I don't claim to know authoritatively!

  5. I wouldn't say I feel sorry for him and lets keep in perspective.

Bale is a multi millionaire and is lucky enough to have options available if he wants to deal with his hair loss. It's up to him whether he wants to deal with it or not. Players in previous era's were not so lucky and didn't have the same options available.

I feel sorry for him in the same way I feel sorry for anyone who loses their hair. Because he's rich we shouldn't sympathise?

All the money in the world won't reverse a genetic predisposition.

  6. Personally I don't think he's had any work done, he just has dense hair and only minor frontal loss (though anyone who knows anything about hair loss can clearly see he's receding) such that with a top-knot he can cover his balding crown. Here's a pic from yesterday v Slovakia when his knot slipped into a ponytail.

Feel sorry for the lad, but i dare say he'll address it in the coming years.

  7. Rooney wishes he had Gareth Bales scalp, physical appearance, skills & brains!

Gareth Bale is ugly and balding himself. Ever wondered why he has a top-knot and long hair?

Balding 100%, his knot slipped into a ponytail and you could see his crown was thin as hell. He's been hiding it for a while.

Also, Rooney in his prime was every bit as good as Bale is now, probably better tbh.
