  1. I'm able to add friends and send private messages now. Thanks for your help.
  2. Alright thanks man I appreciate it and I hope we can get it resolved soon.
  3. Yes I agree. There is a history of bladder cancer and cancer in general in my family, so I'm hesitant about taking finasteride. I know that a low percentage of people suffer serious long-term effects, but it is still a concern of mine.
  4. I made sure that I'm logged in and I'm trying to accept someone's friend request and I keep getting this error message: You don't have permission to do this task How do I fix this? I want to be able to add people as friends on here. I'm also unable to send private messages. Is anyone having issues like this? I would appreciate some help with this.
  5. Well I have read about finasteride and not all the side effects sound good. I also heard that once you stop taking it, your hair will usually go right back to its original thinning state? There must have been some people that have had an HT without taking finasteride that had good results? I don't mind if I continue to lose the hair that is thinning and going to fall out anyway. I just hope that the new transplanted hair doesn't fall out just because I'm not taking finasteride? I don't mind getting another HT in the future if I need to. I would just rather stay away from having to take medication everyday for long term. I know this might seem strange to most people, but there must people others on here that also don't want to take medication all the time right? I do plan to take Rogaine foam (for men) to apply to the thinning areas.
  6. I recently had a hair transplant with Dr. Meshkin as well. It is discouraging to read about your results. Do you really mean none of the transplanted hair grew in at all? You are still completely bald in that area?
  7. Well I haven't taken any finasteride ever and now I'm worried that I will experience severe shock loss because of this? I'm not stressing out because any stress would probably make things worse, but really hoping I get just the shedding and not the shock loss and if so, temporary shock loss. Besides taking finasteride, what else can one do to help prevent permanent shock loss? I have been strictly following all my post op guidelines Dr. Meshkin provided me with.
  8. I have read that some people say they experience next to no shedding or shock loss and how some people really lost a lot. Some people even share horror stories of how they experienced severe shock loss that was permanent. I know that if the hair that was taken from their donor area was already miniature hair that was thinning then it doesn't respond well to the DHT and falls out. What I don't understand is that doctors explain that the hair is taken from the back of the head because the hair in this area never falls out or they say that you never lose the hair in the back? So if this is the case...then how can someone experience permanent shock loss if the hair was taken from that area? I don't mean to sound ignorant, but it just seems contradictory to me. I hope the experts on here can clarify this for me.
  9. I created a photo album with photos just after the procedure and a week post op. I hope that some people on here can take a look at them and let me know how they think I'm healing up. I will also talk with my doctor about the hair color. My hair color in the front is more blond and the back is more of a light brown, so I hope I don't end up with a strange hairline that is light brown with more blond hair on the top and then back to light brown in the back...

  14. I'm now 7 days post op and noticed that most of the scabs from my donor area have already fallen out. I still haven't lost one scab from the recipient areas, but I want to let them fall out on their own. I'm still really paranoid about even gently patting my scalp while washing my hair. Will it be about another week or so before they start to fall out on their own?
  15. My stomach is doing a lot better, since it has been a few days since I finished off the medications.
  16. The swelling is still here and I'm 5th day post op, but it hasn't increased so I'm no longer worried at all about it. My next trial is numbness lol. I woke up just now and most of my head is numb and it feels like I'm wearing a tight helmet. I know that a lot of people experience numbness as well. I just hope I don't experience it for months.
  17. I have chronic gastritis and esophageal reflux and I noticed that even though I stopped taking all the medication for my post op, my stomach and even sides have been bothering me. I spoke to the doctor and he did say that the Prednisone and other medications are known to bother the digestive system, but said that I can take antacids, probiotics and things like this. I will wait a day or so and see how I feel. Do these medications bother anyone else too?
  18. Last night the Prednisone was giving me a lot of anxiety and my doctor recommended to stop taking them if they are bothering me. I had already been taking them every day since Monday, but I have noticed that today the donor area of my scalp feels a lot tighter now? I'm assuming that it is because I didn't take Prednisone today? I plan to call my doctor tomorrow to talk with him about this. I will definitely not be calling him at 4am though. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this? I will probably have to take Prednisone tomorrow if it will prevent this sudden tightness...I hope someone can relate.
  19. I just had my hair transplant with Dr. Meskin this last Monday! He does great work! I plan to give him a great review on Yelp. By following his post-op directions, I feel that I'm healing very quickly.
  20. Thanks for the replies. Yes, the swelling doesn't seem to be getting worse. Tomorrow will be my 4th day post op, so I might only have swelling a few more days. I have been applying the ice packs as well.
