  1. I'm being patient and I have noticed that my crown area is filling out. My monthly photos can attest to that, but my hairline is showing no growth at all? My hairline still looks the same at 3 months post op as it did when I first had my HT? Does this mean that the transplanted hairs on the hairline have most likely failed to grow? Do the hairs on the hairline just grow a lot slower than the hairs in the crown area? I will remain patient, but just looking to see if there is anyone else on here experiencing this?

  5. So Dr. Meshkin is good, but not on the All Star team I guess. I'm starting to feel that I should have gone to someone else. Every time I call Dr. Meshkin on the phone to ask him questions (which isn't often) he doesn't seem to interested in talking with me. It just seems like he is trying to get me off the phone asap. Are there other people on here that have experienced this too or are other surgeons like this as well???
  6. What about Dr. Meshkin? I had an FUT with him almost 3 months ago.
  7. I'm also worried about the transplanted hairs not growing back if they are shaved so early after getting an HT... I will have to talk with Dr. Meshkin about this tomorrow.
  8. Well, I have had hairs grafted not only on my hairline, but on the crown area as well. I had a giant bald spot in my crown area as well. The incision would be right where part of the grafted hairs are. I'm not having any symptoms at all, but the cyst is growing...so we can call that a symptom, but it isn't something I feel. Regardless, I need to have it removed because it is growing. I will set an appointment for my operation tomorrow morning and I won't be able to have the surgery done for another 6 weeks anyway. Gives my hair another month or so to grow out more, before being shaved off for the surgery haha.
  9. Ok, so I had my hair transplant 2 and a half months ago. I recently had an MRI that revealed that I have an arachnoid cysts on the top left area of my parietal lobe. The neurosurgeon mentioned to me that the cyst has been growing and that he recommends me undergoing surgery to have it removed. The problem is that he would have to make an incision on my scalp right where the new transplant hairs were grafted. The neurosurgeon told me that the surgery can hold off a couple months, but he doesn't recommend putting it off too long. I called up Dr. Meshkin and explained my situation. He mentioned to me that the scar from the incision would only effect the grafts hairs in that area...but I mentioned that it isn't just an incision. The neurosurgeon needs to open up a decent sized area of my scalp to cut through the bone and remove the cyst on my brain. He just said that my health is more important than my hair and I agreed with him, but our phone conversation left me confused. So will this surgery ruin my hair transplant or just the hairs that fall within the incision? How can the hairs along my scalp that are being moved around to open my head remain unaffected? That makes no sense to me. I'm probably the only person on this forum with this specific problem, so maybe nobody knows the answer to this, but I figured I would ask anyway. I will contact my neurosurgeon tomorrow and ask if it is possible that he can make the incision behind or outside of the grafted area, but that might not be possible.

  12. I'm exactly one week shy of being 2 months post op. The transplanted hairs on my hairline are still shedding and none of the transplanted hairs on the crown area are shedding at all for some reason. I know that I will just need to wait a couple more months to see growth if I'm not a late bloomer. So some people don't see any new hair growth even after like 6 months or more?
  13. Yes, I will definitely check out that website thanks. Well, I am about 2 months post op and my sutures still haven't fully dissolved...I guess it takes up to 3 months for some people? Also, about how many months in before the transplanted hair starts to grow in? I haven't had any growth at all, but maybe that is because my hair grows slowly in general. I hope that I will start to see a little growth at the 3 month mark.
  14. Well over the past couple days, I was only able to get about 6 hours sleep, but I feel a lot better. I will take a break from overnight work starting tomorrow. I will rest a week and aim to get a minimum of 8 hours sleep each night.
  15. I have actually heard that finasteride helps with enlarged prostates, but that it can increase the chances of prostate cancer. I have read all sorts of conflicting things about taking it. I'm only 31 years old and I already have a prostate that is slightly enlarged. The doctor says that it isn't serious, but as I age, I need to monitor it with annual check ups. So, I'm hesitant on taking finasteride after looking at this article and others like it.
  16. I have been working overnights doing this temporary security guard work for my dad and it is making it really hard for me to sleep. For the passed week, I have been getting an average of about 2 hours sleep tops. Some days, I get maybe 1 hour or literally no sleep at all. Just last night my body must have reached its limit because I ended up crashing out, but I only slept about 5 or 6 hours tops. I plan to take a break from this overnight work this weekend and just rest up for a week or so to get my health back. I only ask this because I know that lack of sleep can cause all sorts of health problems. I just hope that it doesn't have a severe negative impact on the hair growth in the recipient areas of my HT.
  17. I'm a month and a half post op and still no shock loss or shedding. I hope things stay this way for me...

  21. Thanks man. Yeah, well anti DHT sounds good to me. I will probably purchase some Nizoral shampoo in the near future then. I have been keeping my hair and scalp really clean each day as well.
  22. I was told that it takes about a year to yield the full effects.
  23. Great...now I'm coming across articles where it claims that keratin causes hair loss? I will have to talk with my surgeon about this.
  24. I have been reading about ketoconozole and how it has helped some people immensely with their hair loss? Is this a really common thing or are these people the minority? I want to stay away from finisteride due to prostate cancer in the family and minoxidil has a lot of side effects as well (although I might try that in the future). Would a ketoconozole shampoo possibly have side effects as well or is this product a lot safer? I have been hearing a lot of good things about it and I hope that some people on here that know more about it than me can shed some light on it? I might be willing to use this alongside an organic shampoo that has keratin in it.
