  1. Hi there, the only medication which I have been continually using was and still is 5% minox. I have attached some pictures which show my hairline prior to the first hair transplant, transplant itself, after and the condition just before I have had my second one last week. Pictures 1 -3 June 2014 Pictures 4 & 5 June 2014 1 Hair transplant @ Dr. Bhatti Pictures 6& 7 28.11 2014 Pictures 8 & 9 2017 1 month before my second transplant
  2. Hi John, I have had 2439 grafts taken during the first surgery in 2014. This time 3600 grafts were harvested of the scalp and 400 grafts from my beard. I also received a free PRP treatment.
  3. After a break of 3 years, I am back on this board I started to experience hair loss in my late 30s. I conducted a lot of research into the matter and decided go for a hair transplant procedure back in 2014. The surgery was performed by Dr. Bhatti. I was very pleased with his work but unfortunately my hair loss continued and more surgery was required. This time I settled for Dr. Jyoti Gupta at DermaClinix in Delhi. The procedure went over 2 days ( 23/24.11.2017) as I needed 4000 Grafts ( 3600 grafts from the scalp and 400 grafts from the beard). The decision to go with DermaClinx was linked to two reasons. First the financial aspect as hair transplant surgery is very expensive in Australia. The second reason was the excellent given communication. The assistant manager of the clinic patiently answered all my questions through WhatsApp and even helped me with my Medical Visa application. She even offered to assist with airport transfers and hotel arrangements . In short, this was first class customer/patient service. I arrived in Delhi 2 days prior to the scheduled surgery. The hotel was located in East of Kailash, New Delhi, just 10 minutes away from the clinic. The room was very basic but since I was traveling on my own and only staying 6 nights it was satisfactory. Day of surgery: The clinic organized a nurse to come to my hotel room at 8am to draw some blood for testing. I arrived at the clinic at 10am and was greeted by the staff, filled in some forms and was then called for a electrocardiogram. Prior to the start of the procedure I was given some medication to take. Dr Gupta and her team examined my head up close. Everything was explained in a professional and caring manner. The day 1 surgery started at 11.30am and ended at 8.00pm. There was a lunch break at 2.30pm ( clinic orders a meal of your choice ) . The day 2 surgery started also 11.30am and finished around 7pm. I was also given a complimentary PRP treatment. I found Dr Gupta very personable and pragmatic or to say it in plain words...... a doctor who genuinely cares about your well being. The entire experience was amazing and I would not hesitate to return for another procedure if needed. I will try and post regular photos to show the progress and welcome any questions that anyone may have
  4. thanks for your reply and yes I do agree with your suggestion.
  5. Hi there, I underwent a hair transplant back in 2014. Back then the surgery was carried out by Dr.Bhatti in Chandigarh. I was pleased with the result and would certainly recommend him. I am now in a stage where I need to go for another transplant. As a consequence I have recently consulted a surgeon here in Perth/ Australia for evaluation. The consultation was not really satisfying and I decided to check the surgeons credentials. I am the type of person who likes do some due diligence before undergoing surgery. You wouldn’t buy a house without asking around, so why would you not give your own body the same benefit? Anyway, my research started in making attempts to find some credentials of the surgeon in question. I came across the google reviews and noticed a five star review from a patient where the name sounded familiar. And in short, it did. The surgeon gave me a business card where reference was taken to his assistant which turned out the that" patient" That was the moment where I thought it would be worthwhile to investigate the other 5 star reviews. The next 5 star review was given out by the Head of Operations Manager of the Clinic. Another 5 star review was handed down by the father of the surgeon. And the list goes on. Hence my bemusement towards this unethical behavior, I honestly thought that things could not get any worse. After I have checked his current registration through the medical board of Australia, it turned out that he is general practitioner with an interest into orthopedics. He finished a 12 month ACCS course ( DIPLOMA OF COSMETIC MEDICINE) and also got hold of an AAAM ( Hair transplant) diploma. I have checked the website of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine for further information and was pretty much gobsmacked to see that a 3 days workshop course would be enough to gain a diploma. I even obtained the official course program, which highlights the details of the masters course. To round it up, 1 day is just talking , second and third day includes a live hair transplant demonstration. That's it and enough to describe yourself as experienced and qualified hair transplant surgeon. On the surgeon's website, he refers to himself as Cosmetic Surgeon and also as Hair transplant surgeon which I believe is misleading. Question here to the board members and admins, have you heard of the AAAM master diploma for Hair transplants before and if yes what is your opinion? Your feedback is much appreciated Cheers Manuel
  6. Approaching the 6 month mark ( 5.5 month to be exact) and I am pretty happy with the given result so far. My hair at the crown area is still a bit thin, but it is already much better compare to the previous month. Very pleased with my new hairline !!!
  7. Hi Mikeey, I have had no issues on the recipient area, however I have had quiet a few of bumps and sore pimples on the donor area till a few weeks ago. The use of Retinol creme helped me to get rid of the pimples for good.
  8. I can't believe how quick time is going by! Today it is exactly 5 month ago when I had my hair transplant. Whilst more time is needed to get more density, I am very pleased with the result so far. Here are the latest pictures.
  9. Can't believe that 3 months have already past since I have had the surgery. Here are the latest pictures
  10. as Sethicles indicated, the best thing you can do is to relax. Don't do too much too early. I have made the mistake to go out for a 6 hour sightseeing tour on day 2 past surgery. The consequence was a massive swollen face by late in the afternoon. After that, I did spent most of my time at the hotel watching movies ( had my portable hard drive incl. plenty of shows and movies with me). I only went for short walks in the evening and couple of trips to the Elante Shopping Mall ( retail therapy). Also don't hit the gym too early. Sweating will most likely give you some nasty and painful pimples within the donor area of your scalp.
  11. @woodrider Past surgery: First 6 weeks Biotin ( had to stop as I got a skin reaction from it) Currently only Minoxidil and MSM ( plus once a week Nizoral shampoo) Prior to surgery: Pretty much everything you can buy , Saw Palmetto, Nioxin, Minox, MSM, Biotin, Copper Peptides, RU58841, CJC1295, Fusion Hair Tonic, just to mention a few...... Have not touched Fin at all ( no desire to take this medication)
  12. Hi Dog & Woodrider and of course everyone else who is interested . Here is the latest update! Week 9 past surgery

  15. thanks ontop I'll keep posting updates here @dog. I was in Chandigarh for 7 days ( mainly to have enough time to recover and to be able to see the Doctor if necessary ) My recipient area was growing rapidly until the shedding kicked in week 3. The peak of my ' ugliness' was pretty much around week 4. Luckily things have started to improve ..... the neighbor kids no longer run away ....LOL
  16. thanks"dog". Great to hear that things going well for you too. How long did you stayed in Chandigarh before you went back to Australia ( BTW which state?) ?
  17. The donor area has healed pretty well and it seems that my transplanted hair has already started to come out of the resting phase.
  18. 4 weeks have past since the surgery took place. Here are the latest pictures ( taken just an hour ago) Daily routine: 5mg Biotin , 1500mg MSM ,1500mg Glucosamine
