Yes, it is too expensive. And there are many good choices in the North Eastern part of the United States.
How old are you?

I have no experience on long hair SMP (anyone?) - but the concept of SMP is to give the illusion of hair on a bald head. On a head with long hair it would probably just look like a dark colored scalp under your hair. Therein most likely lies your answer why there is so little info...

But you pull off the long hair look so well, I don't think you should bother.
Thanks, P. It's all about the Dr...

Interesting. Thanks for the info
Additionally, the granite sub strata so prevalent in CA makes digging a very expensive proposition, as well as the anchoring needed to Earthquake proof a home.

Nice yard! That’s riverside? Looks more like Joshua tree
I am actually at the very east end of Moreno Valley by the Badlands - and that is desert all the way to the border. I love it.

Lol why is that? I've heard homes in Florida don't have basements either
A lot of reasons. The ground doesn't freeze so there is no need to encapsulate the pipes, And one of the other reasons is because of the height of the water table under it. If the water table level is higher, as in Florida for example, basements can be all the time flooded

I’m sure I will care about my looks as long as I live. I don’t think we ever “give up.”
No we do not.

So even if you think a hair transplant will solve all your problems, it may not, unless your mental state is in the right place.
Oh you had to bring up my mental state...

I am satisfied. It is important to remember that our expectations form our final feelings/opinions on our hair transplant. We have to be honest in our goals and assessments. In my case, at 64 I knew a full head of adolescent hair was impossible. But I also knew that I could design and achieve a mature and age appropriate hairline/head of hair. That was my goal - and although my final outcome is not a Melvin, it is a Voxman and that suits me and makes me happy. I am 70 now and no one really believes me when I tell them.
So in the end you must engage in the process. Be reasonable and upfront with your goals and be a part of it - don't be the guy who comes on here as states "Well he drew a line and I really didn't know or comment because I THOUGHT he knew what he was doing.,..". No. Be active - don't be unreasonable - but be responsible.

I wouldn't do it because it may affect the adjacent grafts at this point or cause bleeding/ Scars/pitting and them you'll have bigger concerns.
15-20 grafts is not all that much. I would wait and see what the grafts look like when grown out and then you can experiment with perhaps shaving them (a quite popular activity) and see how that looks. You never know, you may like the Dracula look after all.

A what?
A Man walks into a Bar and no one is there except the Bartender. The Man asks "Where is everybody?" The Bartender replies "Everyone is home on lockdown and the Bar is closed".
End of story. Sadly.

The hair in the crown looks quite robust - just keep an eye on things for now. Don't stress about your natural whorl.

One day there will be a cure....hair cloning to create infinite donor reserve to be transplanted seems like the best bet...............I, for one, look forward to being a NW0 with 120 FU's per/cm in my hairline as I'm lowered into my grave 😂 God bless the scientists
They will have to raise me from my grave to get my 120 FU per/cm. !!

I would classify this as 'sub zero'.

The threads on this subject last longer that the cures.

That should serve you well. My crown is not doing as well but that was never my focus.
And at my age now it's just not worth the time and expense as I've so much more to prioritize. I am very happy with my hair and can only hope my wife combs it well when I'm in my casket.
Should I consider surgeons outside NYC?

Unlike some poor fellow I know in Montana, you have the luxury of top notch elite HT Surgeons down the street from you. It's your decision, but you're off to a great start already with those 3.
