  1. Thanks for the replies. I contacted three transplant clinics and received different replies one said that I need to wait at least 6 months after smp before having ht. One said 2 months is sufficient and the other 1 month. As smp combined with ht is relatively new, I guess that it why I received conflicting information. Issues mentioned were giving the scalp enough time to fully recover after smp (including for inflammation to go down). There is also a possibility some of the ink may move during ht.
  2. Thanks Stephen, it sounds like I should give it a try.
  3. Hi Everyone, I am thinking of going for smp next month and then going for a transplant. Has anyone here had smp followed by ht? If so, I'd love to know what your results were. What is the minimum time recommended between smp and ht? I think that it is safer to go for smp first and then have transplant as a ht first followed by smp could result in transplanted hairs being damaged by the ink. Any advice welcome
  4. I recently read that nettle root is good for preventing hair loss. Have any posters on here used it and if so, what has your experience been? Thanks
  5. I was also considering this doctor for a transplant at one point until I came across some negative media reports online. They are not connected to his hair transplant work but they did make me think twice: Doctor told to stop injecting patients with his Top doctor hands back However, like other posters on this thread have said; if he is a member of IAHRS it has to stand for something.
  6. Thanks Lorenzo; it is useful to have your feedback!
  7. Has anybody had a hair transplant by Vinci Hair Clinic. They have clinics in the UK and Spain. Links to their clinic frequently appear on Google. However, there seems to be a serious lack of online reviews of people who have actually had surgery with them. Any advice is welcome
  8. I asked a similar question recently: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/172049-bona-fide-international-society-hair-restoration-surgery.html
  9. I did have a consultation in Blackrock, however, their prices are just too expensive for me...up to 5 times dearer than other reputable surgeons prices. Has anybody gone for a transplant at Blackrock?
  10. Hi folks, I am planing on going for a FUE procedure in the near future. However, I do not want to take finasteride. My hairloss seems to have stopped over the past 3 years. I know there is no way of knowing for sure what will happen in the future but right now, I am not losing more hair. What is the general consensus on going for FUE but not taking any hairloss medication?
  11. Thanks for the replies! I will check out the list of recommended surgeons.
  12. Hi, I am doing a lot of research regarding a FUE transplant. I have read/heard on numerous occasions that transplant surgeons accredited by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery are the best in the world. Hence, I was relieved when one surgeon, Dr Sam Van Eeden, who I was considering to carry out my transplant, featured on this list. However, from carrying out further online research I came across some controversial articles relating to this surgeon. Although the articles are not about his hair transplant work, they nevertheless raise questions about his professionalism. However, I am curious about Dr. Van Eedeen's hair transplant work - surely it must be world class if he is on the ISHRS list? Are the other doctors on this list all bona fide, or have there been other controversies? Any feedback is welcome - thanks!
  13. Thanks a lot for the replies! I will definitely do some more research and no doubt will have more questions.
  14. Hi JohnnyDrama, Thanks for your reply. Can you let me know the approximate cost and how long are the waiting times for surgery with Dr. Bisanga? Cheers.
  15. Hi Everyone, I am thinking about going for a hair transplant, as my hair has thinned significantly. For the first few years, I was dealing with it ok. However, for the past year my hairloss has really got to me. My hairloss seems to have stopped over the past 2 years, I am currently a 3-4 on the Norwood hairloss scale. From reading online, a FUE procedure seems to be the least invasive. Does anyone know anything about the following hair clinics? **outside link removed** This clinic is based in Malahide, Dublin and the hair transplant surgeon is Dr. Sam van Eeden. From looking online, I cannot find any reviews from patients about his work. However, he is a member of the The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons(ISHRS). Places on this board are coveted and difficult to secure - this would imply that he is a good surgeon but I am slightly concerned by the lack of online reviews. There have been a couple of negative articles (non hair transplant related) in the Irish media about this Doctor which is quite off putting. **outside link removed** I have not heard much about them but they frequently appear in search engines. **outside link removed** They carry-out consultations in Ireland but the surgery would be performed in London or Madrid. Right now, these are the three clinics which I am researching for my transplant. However, their surgeons do not appear to have many/any online reviews. If anybody has any feedback/knowledge (positive or negative) about the above clinics, please let me know. I posted a similar thread in another forum but it appears to be much less active than this site. If you can recommend any other clinics in Europe, it would also be useful. Thanks!
