  1. I'm not sure if it's permissible to post certain links on this site. However, some Google results for Dr Van Eeden would cause me concern.
  2. My clinic advised me that 14 days post fue ht, it is ok to buzz the entire head as the transplanted grafts would be deeply anchored at this stage. This seems to be the general consensus. After shaving, I didn't notice any blood so I don't think that I lost any grafts but I feel that I should have waited a bit longer before buzzing the scalp now. Just wondering how long other posters waited before shaving their head post fue ht? Thanks.
  3. Was your surgeon a member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians?
  4. Hi Fueonly, Thanks for replying. Are you referring to scarring in the donor area as well as the recipient area?
  5. Is there any difference in the growth rate between transplanted scalp hair and transplanted beard hair? I'm curious as my beard grows a lot faster than the hair on my scalp. However, would this mean that transplanted beard hair would sprout earlier and faster on the scalp?
  6. This is true to an extent. However, if somebody is genetically disposed to be a NW7, eating a healthy diet is unlikely to impact on the quality (and lack) of hair on their scalp.
  7. The general consensus is that at around month 3, ht results start to show. Is this after 8 weeks ie month 3 or after 12 weeks when the third month has passed?
  8. I had my transplant a few weeks ago. I have an important event this weekend and I would like to cover up areas where my hair has thinned on the crown. I wouldn't put the concealer near the transplanted grafts (mainly hairline). Would this be safe?
  9. Hi All, I have been reading post ht surgery guidelines and advice online. Some of the steps seem daunting as I'm sure lots of other people are anxious like myself in case they do anything to damage the grafts in the weeks post surgery. Does anyone have any tips to avoid damaging the transplanted grafts post surgery from your own experience? Any advice is welcome
  10. What about permanent hair dye which is really harsh?
  11. Is it safe to go in the sun before a transplant if you use a high spf on your scalp and/or wear a cap or should it be avoided? Any advice welcome
  12. Good points. It's not just about it lightening/fading though. For the first few weeks after smp, the hair can be grown longer (up to a grade 2) due to the 3 dimensional effect which appear in the photos Mirko posted. However, afterwards most people would be lucky to get away with a grade 0 at best. It largely depends on the amount of hair loss. However, if one has a receded hairline and goes for smp, realistically you won't be able to grow your hair beyond a grade 0. If the smp in the photos could be maintained long-term it would be fantastic; I would be going for smp tomorrow if this could be achieved. However, unfortunately it cannot. As you say, I would like to see companies post photos of smp a few months after the treatment as the fresh smp images are unrealistic long-term. -
  13. I wasn't trying to be smart but these photos are misleading as the man is highly unlikely going to be able to maintain his hair at that length in a couple of week's time.
  14. Hi Mirko, Thanks for your reply. But doesn't smp when it is fresh look a lot more effective than it does 1 month later when the scabs have all fallen off and the dots have shrunk i.e. there is no longer that three dimensional illusion to create that thickness effect which appears in the photos you posted.
  15. Are you flying home on the same day as your transplant?
  16. Really? I imagine if I climbed up super super slowly, literally one step at a time, it would be ok.
  17. Thanks everyone for the replies, you have all been very helpful. I guess for some people some walking (even short distances) is unavoidable after their transplant e.g. those who have to go to the airport the day after to return to their home country - there would be some walking within the airport.
  18. This may sound like a funny question but I was just wondering, as one should take it as easy as possible immediately after a hair transplant to avoid any damage to the grafts. But would it be ok to walk up two flights of stairs on the same day of transplant? I'm thinking about when I arrive home after my ht. Obviously, I would walk up slowly and I would try to stay upstairs for the first few days as my scalp heals.
  19. I have been thinking a lot over the past few weeks but I have finally decided to have a ht followed by smp in 1 year's time. I was concerned that if I had smp followed by ht that the ink may move during/after the ht.
