IMHO, lotsa people have scabs/crusts for way longer than their clinics say they will. Sometimes these little suckers can be very adherent and it just takes a while for them to work their way out with gentle shampooing, etc. Everybody worries about damaging the grafts, even after the magical 10 day window, so you can never go wrong by just being gentle and patient.

Loose ballcap is the way to go.
-
Most surgeons say no coal tar for 30 days at least. You can use it down the road.

As a general rule of thumb, peripheral nerve injuries heal while central nerve injuries may never heal. In HT, only peripheral nerves should be affected, so any numbness/paresthesia/neurogenic pain should go away with time as the nerves heal/regrow.
The best example is that MANY people will injure their sural nerve and develop numbness in their feet as a consequence. This almost always fully recovers with time.

I do not use Toppik or things like it but I had some questions for those who do:
Does Toppik look natural in real life and under real lighting conditions? I have seen a few people who use it in real life and it always seems like "too much" has been applied? What happens to this stuff in the wind or the rain or if you put a hat on while you are wearing it?

I guess it is all a question of perspective. On this and other boards I have seen posts by people who were VERY disappointed with their results, but who look great to me. Similarly, I have seen people who really loved their look after surgery but that I thought looked artificial or whose results screamed "I had HT surgery!"
I guess in the end if the patient is happy with the results it is all that matters.

FUT is still half of all transplants, maybe more.
-
It looks good. The haircuts are totally different in the before and after pics, but you can still see it is a good outcome. I suspect the patient will have at least 1 more surgery going forward.

This is a relevant thread from r/Tressless from a few weeks or so ago.
There is a typo in the title of the thread but this is about the FUE vs FUT decision making process.
-
I always say that having the actual HT surgery itself is much easier than what you go through afterwards. Recovery is tough, and seeing all the transplanted hair fall out is pretty much part of the drill.
-
It is absolutely possible that this could happen. How many FUTs have you had?
-
At day 12 you still have a lot of swelling and are recovering from a lot of skin trauma. You should get checked by your doc to make sure you have no infection, which can rarely occur.
-
Shedding can go on for up to 2 months afterwards and usually slows down after that. Miniaturized hairs shed after HT may never return, but previously transplanted or non-miniaturized hair should return, albeit on its own schedule.
-
I highly doubt it. Most surgeons recommend these for FUT pt at around this time for pts who are in preparation for additional FUTs. Never heard of it stretching the scar.
-
In general, if you have a second FUT and you had a good scar outcome on FUT #1, you will likely have a good scar outcome on FUT #2. The first FUT scar is likely to be the best, just so you know. The nice thing about doing FUT #2 is that you still just have the one scar as they remove the old scar with the 2nd strip.

Good ideas cannot be held back. If a true cure was developed, it could never not be released. Too many people would want it, too many people would want to sell it.
-
Looks like things are happening on schedule. With time the hairs will get thicker and have more body.I bet you end up with a great result.

Well done! Lucky guy!

I gotta say, and I feel pretty strongly on this point, there is a whole lot of art to a good HT. I would pretty much dismiss this surgeon's POV. It sounds like he is talking about the TECHNICAL part, but the art of designing the hairline, adjusting the density of the grafts, making the HT as a whole look syntonic to the patient and age appropriate...that is not easy. That is not easy at all.
A good HT is absolutely undetectable. A bad HT can be spotted a mile away.
-
If you are comfortable with your plan and your surgeon go for it.
-
Remember, diffuse thinners would probably look bad after FUE as well.
The vast majority of FUT scars are very difficult to detect, even with short hair.
-
WOW! If anyone deserved a break it was you! Congrats!
-
Sorry you are suffering. That is really unfortunate. I looked at his site. Was this FUT or FUE?
-
Leave it be. You look just fine.
Need help with all these little scabs please (pic attached)

At ten days you should be able to gently run the tips of your fingers over the area to start to gently dislodge the crusts/scabs.
