  1. Hi California, Thanks for your reply. I am now in touch with Dr Bhatti. It's just that Often we are very excited about our HT results and we tend to compare that with others. When I compared my 3 months results with Johny(Australia) I was disappointed. However, I have now understood that I need to wait atleast 6 months to see anything satisfactory. Johny. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/167897-hair-transplant-dr-tejinder-bhatti-darling-buds-chandigarh-india.html
  2. I am not sure what exactly you meant by manual and mechanical, however below is the answer- He used a motorized punch and it was tech assisted. If I remember correct, Doctor does the punching and tech extracts the grafts.
  3. Shane, do you think my HT is going on the same tracks as your previous one with Dr Bhatti ? My mid scalp does not seem to be growing anything.
  4. Hey Guys, Please find attached herewith my pics from day 85. I have to say that I am not happy with the results so far. Below is what I have been following from Post Op Day 1 till date. 1. Finasteride 1 mg - 4 days a week ( Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun) 2. Biotin - 7 days a week. 2. GNC Mens Hair MultiVitamin - 3 days a week ( Tue, Thu, Sat ) 3. GNC Multi Oil Capsules - 3 days a week ( Tue, Thu, Sat) 4. Seghals Thinning Hair Supplement - 3 days a week ( Tue, Thu, Sat) Massaging & Washing. 1. Johnsons Baby Shampoo 2. Nizoral Shampoo 3. Johnsons Baby Oil 4. Seghals Thinning hair Shampoo I was reluctant to use Rogaine(any Minoxidil solution) earlier. However seeing that my result is far from satisfactory, I have now started with Rogaine 5% every night from last 1 week. I would appreciate your candid review comments and any tips to maximize the benefits of HT. So, please let them coming.
  5. Hi Mate, I underwent HT with Dr Bhatti exactly 1 month after you. As of now I look pretty much same the way I looked Pre Op. Couple of questions for you : 1. Have you been applying Minoxidil ? 2%/5% ? which brand ? 2. Have you been taking Finasteride ? Generic/Propecia ? How many times a week ? 3. Are you using Any other non surgical treatments to provide support to your HT ? Cheers!
  6. David, I remember the big three from 'hairlosstalk.com' . So, yeah I would want to start with Nizoral. Interesting thing is that here in India we can get Nizoral 2% over the counter whereas, I reckon, we need prescription for the same while in US. I use to apply Nizoral 1% 3 times a week when I was in US. It's a good time to restart Nizoral now since I have got few hair on the top after HT. 1. Which one do you recommend to start with 2% or 1% and how often should I apply it bearing in mind that I have been instructed to use Johnsons baby shampoo twice a week by my HT doctor and Johnsons baby oil everyday for 6 months. 2. Can Rogaine make your transplanted hair dependent on it ? ~fight or loose eternaldeniedchrist
  7. David and Bill. Thank you very much for valuable information/experience. I gathered the courage and started with finpecia (generic finasteride) 1 mg 3 days a week. I also take GNC MultiVitamin( UltraNourish Hair), GNC Multi Oil (for Omega fatty acids), GNC Biotin 5 mg. and Seghals Advanced Hair thinning tablets. Would you recommend any other tried and tested medication that would help with hair growth and maintenance ? I have 10 bottles of Rogaine 5% solution lying in my wardrobe but I am not applying that. Primarily because I have been on Rogaine on and off for past 4 years with no visible improvement, rather I think that Rogaine made my hair more thin. Would you recommend getting on Rogaine as well ?
  8. Hi All, I am now 18 days Post Op and facing hair shedding whenever I apply oil/ shampoo and tries to massage my scalp. My after care instruction says to apply Oil once daily after 15 days Post Op. Is it normal to shed transplanted hairs as soon as 18 days Post Op ?
  9. Great results. Have you been on Finasteride, Minoxidil or any other medication pre/post your HT? Can you please brief in about medication and doses you have been taking ?
  10. Man, I have heard that one shed most of his/her transplanted hairs and then it all grows back but actualy going through it might be scary. I am kind of scared going through the shedding phase. I am 20 days Post Op. Will be watching your thread. keep us posted. Have you been applying Minoxidil after your HT ? When did you start ? Did you start with 2% first and then went to 5% as Dr Bhatti recommends ? Do you think Rogaine will be of any help in my case ? I have been on Rogaine 5% solution for past 2+ year with no positive outcome. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171136-my-hair-transplant-experience-3180-grafts-dr-bhatti.html
  11. Is using Minoxidil strongly recommended after HT ? My doc did advise me to use Minoxidil 5%. However; I have been on Rogaine 5% for 2+ years pre HT and have not seen any positive effects whatsoever. Should I be using Rogaine if it has not helped me in past or its better to stay away ?
  12. Jay, Note yet. I think its too early and then I am waiting to see what reply does shane13 get from the Doctor.
  13. I know its just 15 days and its stupid to conclude anything for now;however I am a bit worried about the growth in mid scalp region. hairline seems to be growing a lot more faster than the mid scalp. I am concerned if my HT is following the same pattern as that of Shane13 http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171146-6-months-result-dr-bhatti-2151-fue.html#post2355349
  14. Shane, Any updates from Dr on slower growth region ? Though it's too early to conclude anything but I see a similar pattern in my HT. grafts in mid scalp are not growing whereas Hairline looks okay. here http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171136-my-hair-transplant-experience-3180-grafts-dr-bhatti.html
  15. Sure, I will post them as soon as I get some time. However, to answer your question-here you go Though extracted area doesn't have any scars but if you watch closely you can easily makeout because other areas on face will have minuscule hairs no matter how closely you shave and extracted area looks barren. So, as far as beard hairs are concerned one should not go even a tad bit beyond the shadow area. In my case we had gone a little bit far and hence you can see the difference.
  16. Day 12 Hey Guys, here are my Day 12 Pics. Scabs/Crusts seem to have fallen off. I was taking a look at my Pre Op pictures and seeing the fine texture of my hair, lately I have started to worry if I am a case of diffuse thinning ? Can we conclude that by looking at pictures ? Are there any tests that would confirm diffuse thinning ? Comments are welcome. My Pre Op Pics are available on my profile page.
  17. David, Thanks much for the reply. My doctor strongly advised me to get on fin. However, I feel that I had lost it all over the scalp and there is nothing left that can be saved with medication. Considering all the transplanted hairs are taken from the safe donor zone finasteride is not going to help me at all, worst case this can give me side effects. Why would my doctor advise me to get on finasteride ? Am I missing something here ? Do you think hair loss drugs will help in my case ? My Pre-Op Pics are there in the profile section.
  18. Hey Guys, Recently I took the plunge and went for a HT(FUE). I am 11 days Post Op and lately this thought has been disturbing me a lot. Is your HT results dependent on Finastaeride and /or Minoxidil ? I have been suffering from hair loss from past 7+ years and have never taken Finasteride because I was too sacred to try it. I had been on minoxidil (Rogaine 5%) on and off before I went for my HT and I hated that primarily because I felt that Minoxidil had aggravated my hair loss by making my weak hair follicles too much dependent on the same and secondaly because I did not want to apply a drug on top of my head for the rest of my life. The question to all you experienced professional is - 1. Do you think success factor of HT vary depending on whether or not one chose to take Finasteride and /or Minoxidil ? 2. As most HT surgeons prescribe these 2 drugs at least for 6 months Post HT, If you chose to take them for prescribed duration and nothing more, Can you quit them without making your hair suffer ? 3. I believe our transplanted hairs are DHT resistant since they are taken from the safe donor zone then why do we need these drugs to support those hairs anyways ? ~keep fighting
  19. JohnnyDrama, Thanks for posting. The pain was severe enough to made me google on this topic and this is what I found. And I thought FUE was painless. 1. (Link removed by moderator) 2. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/142085-terrible-pain-donor-area-after-fue-procedure.html I get the exact same feeling as 'keeping-it-short' has described in the post. As it appears ibuprofen does seem to help but I am always cautious about side effects of pain killers;however, I will go get some asap to help me if this pain goes out of control. Hope this pain goes away soon. I was infact hesitating to post thinking people would not believe me if I say I am suffering from pain after FUE ?! This medical science is so different from engineering. We can not generalize a thing. This is definitely something to be aware of.
  20. Hey Guys, I recently underwent a FUE . I am 6 days Post Op and I feel a burning and pinching sensation in my scalp donor area. Its nothing that I can not bear but on a scale of 1 to 10 , I would rate this pain as 6-7. Is this normal ? I am alittle concerned because its causing me a great discomfort and I have to get back to work in few days from now. With this pain its hard to concentrate. Its worth noting that beard donor area has been absolutely fine with no pain at all. I have sent an email to my doctor regarding this and awaiting a reply from him. Meanwhile I thought I would ask experienced people here in the forum to figure out if this is something I should be worrying about ?
  21. Hey GaelicDawn, In my case Dr Bhatti chose a zig zag hairline. I would have preferred a straight one like yours. After my surgery I even asked Dr Bhatti on my hairline and he mentioned that he has carefully chosen to make it zig zag to look more natural. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171136-my-hair-transplant-experience-3180-grafts-dr-bhatti.html As per Doc, I had a limited and fine donor area so I think a conservative hairline was best pick in my case. On another note, I am 5 day Post Op and I feel an intense pinching and burning sensation in my scalp donor area. Did you experience the same ? How long did it last ? Also, I see that you did not have any crusts 7 days Post Op. Did you take any special care to remove them ? I have crust/scab all over my recipient area.
  22. Hey guys, I am 5 day post Op (FUE). I have scabs all over recipient area and would like to know the do's and dont's to get rid of them. My post op care instruction says 1. Clean the recipient area with saline water 2. Pour few drops of shampoo on a gauze 3. dab over recipient area. 4. Clean the recipient area with saline water Is this enough ? Tried and tested suggestions welcome.
