  1. Denesdream, If you read carefully, I did not blame doctor for my results. So you suggesting that how my hair growth has turned for 4800(1000 beards) grafts is good enough? eternalDenied.
  2. Hey Guys, I thought I would rather post this for benefit of others who may be thinking of 2nd HT than keep sulking within. Its been 5 months and I see nothing. Absolutely nothing over my first HT. I stand exactly where I was before my 2nd HT. So, where did 1500(1000 scalp and 500 beard) grafts disappear? Do not even ask about the 3300 from first HT. Thats 4800 grafts in total !? I am not only heartbroken and disappointed but extremely angry at myself. I want to hit myself hard and keep hitting until I die. There are people here who warned me not to go for 2nd HT. I didn't listen to them and I must suffer. Anyways, whats done is done. This goes to anyone who is not happy from the results of their first HT and planning for a Second session. Please read this out loud. Even if you are very adamant to have a 2nd HT , do not ever plan it with the same Doctor. There was a reason why it didn't turn out well the very first time. For all that matter the reason will come back to haunt you. Be it Doctor's skill or your own hair characteristics. Whatever it is, you will be the one who will cry at the result. You will repent and only repent going for 2nd HT with the same Doctor if you are not satisfied with the first. Fellow members, please would you suggest me anything and everything that I can do to help my hair grow well (if at all there is still a hope ?) . I take finpecia 1mg every alternate day. I apply Johnsons baby Oil every night and wash it off with Johnsons baby shampoo the next day. I am athletic, run 5 km every day and maintain a healthy diet. What am I missing ? ~eternalDenied
  3. Hi Ko, I have been on finasteride 1 mg every alternate day from past 1 year. I have used Rogaine 5% as per Dr recommendation but I have now stopped that from past 2 weeks because I believe Rogaine is just not worth the pain. I was on Rogaine 5% for 3 months after my Second session. ~eternalDenied.
  4. Yes, I do not see any growth whatsoever so far. This has started to scare me but I believe there is a long way to go and I must be patient Yes, I have been on finasteride 1mg every alternate day from past one year.
  5. Hi, ash809 All the best for your HT. I will touch 4 months mark on 8th Sep and I intend to provide an update to fellow members by that time.I haven't seen any growth so far though;I have read on this forum that second HT growth takes more time than first. Pictures speak more than feelings so let me post pics after 4 months mark and then we ll see.
  6. fueonly - I agree with you with reference to work of Feriduni, bisanga, lorenzo, hakan. densedream- I agree with you with reference to my donor grafts quality. I have seen NW 6, NW 7 before and after pics of lorenzo, bisanga and other world class doctors on this forum itself and those works are outstanding. Below are two pics taken from Mickey's post (http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/169499-pros-cons-fue-myths-dispelled.html) imgur: the simple image sharer imgur: the simple image sharer So, yes, honestly speaking Dr Bhatti would have to climb thousands of miles to provide as consistent and as outstanding results as those of bisanga's and lorenzo's. I am not bashing Dr Bhatti by any means, afterall I picked him twice. I believe everything in this world is relative. The reason I picked Dr Bhatti was the time and money I had to invest to go for other doctors crossing national boundaries. I am 31 and I have been balding since 24. I wanted to live my life with full head of hair once . If I had to choose lorenzo, I had to wait for another couple of years or so. That was not feasible for me. Dr Bhatti has delivered a couple of amazing results;however the consistency has been missing if we see all his cases together. Whether this has to do with Individuals donor quality and other characteristics or Doctor's Skills ? I don't know. Only experts could analyze/comment on that. Whether I would have got an amazing results, had I waited and gone to Lorenzo and bisanga ? -- This will always remain a open question for me. Having said that, my fingers are crossed. If my second hair transplant gives me a decent(not amazing) results , I ll be happy with even that.
  7. Oh and Dr also mentioned that 1000 grafts were more than sufficient to cover the mid scalp. So, there was no need to fetch for more.
  8. fueonly, thanks for posting. I was not on tight budget. Dr offered me 50% discount on the area that did not grow after first session and he said that I would have to pay 100% for other areas that was not touched earlier. I told him, I am not concerned about money. This is going to be my last HT atleast for next 5 years so do your best. At the end I paid 100% for crown area and 50% for mid scalp. Dr said that we could not take more than 1000 grafts including beard. He also mentioned that I should, not be stretching this anymore. He has done the best he could. Grafts are spread out may be because he would have thought to cover larger area with available.grafts. my question is how many grafts can you extract out of scalp donor area. in my case we have extracted 3000 from scalp. Is that all?
  9. Hey Guys, Lately I have been dead busy and therefore could not post this update earlier. I did take the plunge and went for second FUE session with Dr Bhatti on 8th May 2014 because my first session result was far from satisfactory as many of you already know. For now, just pictures. I do not have the number of grafts right now but I reckon it was below 1000. I will come back to post the details regarding number of grafts etc 10 Months Update after First FUE http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/174786-10-months-update-dr-bhatti-3180-grafts-jun-2013-a.html First FUE session - Immediate Pre Op and Post Op Pics. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.co...dr-bhatti.html ~eternalDenied
  10. All, Thank you very much for your inputs. As California confirmed, I have decided to go ahead with the second procedure as I think if I don't get the second one done my first procedure would be money and resource(grafts) went down the drain. Since I would be putting more money and more grafts this time as well, this is going to be a make or break procedure for me for years to come. I have read and re- read gilleanator's post rearding shockloss and I understand that I am very prone to shockloss according to that.(recessionary diffused) 1. I would like to know whether there are any actions( regions to choose for HT , shave the head? etc) that I can take to prevent/minimize the shockloss ? 2. Could there be shock loss to transplanted hairs as well ? PS: I am getting operated on 8th May 2014. Good luck to me.
  11. Mickey, I sent an email to Dr Bhatti stating my concerns and asking his feedback/comments on my 10 months update. I am yet to receive a reply from him;however, California confirmed me that he spoke to Dr Bhatti for my case and Dr Bhatti has offered a 50% discount for my second procedure. @California - Thanks very much to you for getting in touch with Dr Bhatti on my behalf and Thanks very much to Dr Bhatti for offering me a discount. Having said that, I would like to pen down a few points from my experience for hair loss victims who might stumble upon this thread. As mickey pointed out and is evident from my pictures a lot of grafts didn't manifest into terminal hairs. When I say a lot there could be very well 1500 to 2000 grafts that didn't grow into terminal hairs. Now, this does not mean that Bhatti didn't do a good job. I am sure every Doctor wants that his patient get best of the results but medical science is different from engineering science and results in medical science can vary to a large extent.I have been doing a lot of reading on FUE results lately and I read that FUE yield is always on the down side when compared to FUT . there are a lot of factors on which FUE yield depends - e.g transection, the solution in which your grafts are kept etc . So for patients like me who have a lot of terrain to cover and who do not have thick donor hair - we should probably go for a combination of FUE + FUT . FUE for cherry picking the grafts (BH may be) and FUT for better yield. @Mickey- I know you are pro FUE . So you might have a different opinion and I would be happy to hear that. Secondaly- Do not rush into the surgery. Do a lot of research before you decide for your HT . It is a life changing decision. I guess, I would have to accept that I rushed into surgery. I saw Johny24 results and I was so impressed by his results that I decided to go ahead. When I compared johny24 pre pop pics with mine I saw that we shared similar balding area and therefore I took the plunge. I was like if he could get that result why can't I. We should remember that we all are different and we should not get influenced by someone else results. ~eternalDenied
  12. Gillenator, Beard grafts are indeed the salvation in my case if I get good yield from them. As far as results from my first FUE is concerned, I think beard grafts have given good results infact I would say the only visible appearance that you see in my case is from the beard grafts(700 in number). I can say that those are beard grafts because they are thick and strong. I love them except that their texture is not as smooth and silky as my scalp hairs. Rest 2500 scalp grafts-I don't know where did they disappear ? That's the good news. The bad news is that 1. I don't know how many of them is left in the shadow area. 2. There were beard grafts extracted from my jaw line which is not very good thing because they have left scars that you can see with naked eye if you do a close scrutiny;however, at the same time I believe that these jaw line beard grafts are strong and thick ? And may be the one from the shadow area are not that strong. Just my assumption. This time if I decide to go ahead, I want to target only and only shadow area. Any idea how many beard grafts one would ideally have in the shadow area ? ~eternalDenied
  13. Gillenator, You entire post is indeed very helpful. I didn't get your point on low dose finasteride ? Could you please explain that. Yes, I do take finpecia every alternate day. I was asked for 1mg finpecia every day for 6 months.I couldn't take that every day because I experienced some side effects. However, I could handle that well when I brought down the frequency. I am continuing with 1 mg every alternate day because I believe I would have to continue with at least one of the proven medication to save/improve whatever I have left. yes, I am aware of the side effects and I am taking this risk. I have sent you a PM on why I am stressing about hair so much. Check that when you get time. Ta. ~eternalDenied.
  14. Gillenator, Thanks much for posting. I respect your honesty and appreciate that you have highlighted this issue for the benefit of all. Indeed, its heartbreaking but if this is the fact I would have to accept that gracefully. After reading your posts a couple of times. Now, what do I have next in line for me ? I am already on a path that in the best case I should not have taken but now since I am already here and invested good some money to get what I desired. what can I do to be best? 1. 2500 grafts were taken out from my scalp in my first session. Reading your post and Dr Wesley article I believe we should not touch any more than 1500 grafts from the scalp If I decide to have second FUE . This would total up to 4000 and that should be end of it. 2. Beard hair - Yes, I must tap that . May be we can get 300-500 from beard shadow area. Aforementioned are the two resources at my disposal. Do you think 300 beard grafts + 500 scalp grafts would do any good to front to mind scalp that looks bald as of now. Rest 1000 may be used to reduce the diameter of balding area at crown/back ? I guess have accepted that I can never flaunt the full head of hair. What I am trying to find out here is best utilization of limited resources at my disposal ? Should I go for second FUE ? I think I have to go because I have already spent a good amount of money on first and If I don't go for a second one. I guess money already spent will be down the drain ?
  15. Jay, thanks much for your feedback. So, what you are suggesting is even if I give a gap of say 18 months between the first and second surgery , probabilty and impact Of shock loss would remain the same? Also , do you think those fine thin hairs on the right svalp has the potential to become tetminal hair in few months of time or are those dying anyways in which case I can happily get operated on the same region again.
  16. So I also believe that Dr bhatti stands by his patients and that is why I did not request him to do the second session for free, neither did I complain regarding anything because I thought if he felt that surgeon error could have been responsible for poor result,he would have offered me free service himself. Since he didnt offer me a free service I believe I am one of those poor responders.
  17. Spanker, thanks much for the feedback. So, you think I dont need to worry about shockloss because those thin hair on right scalp is anyway dying/good for nothing?
  18. David, if I understood you correct, what you are suggesting is to get the front zone covered first and then whatever number of grafts is left , use them to shrink the bald crown spot by building up the cirxumference and moving inside the circle.
  19. Hi Blake, thanks for your feedback. I have not consulted any other FUE surgeon in India. Does this site recommend any good FUE surgeon in India? Dr Madhu is more into FUT. Dr bhatti felt it would be better to cover crown/back but when I insisted that I want a fuller frontal look and suggested that we should implant 300 beard grafts in front right scalp and whatever number of grafts we get from scalp we can put that in crown. He agreed to my suggestion.
  20. Mickey, thanks for your inputs. I believe my pre op pics gives a false picture of a wider bald area because I use to keep bald look earlier. Whatever you see on two sides are my native hair .So its only mid scalp that was bald. Nope the second session is not free. So yes seeing the amount of money I have already spent and will be spending in future. I do think I am stuck.
  21. Guys, please see below link for my 10 months update. 10 Months Update - Dr Bhatti - 3180 grafts in Jun 2013 - Forum By and for Hair Loss Patients
  22. Thanks much hsrp, this forces me to rethink my decision of having the second surgery on the same area. I am so dead confused because as far as appearance is concerned it makes sense to get the front look covered first. I mean thats the part everyone see in our day to day interaction until we turn our back to them. here is my 10 months update. what do you think of those fine hairs on right scalp ? Are those dead anyways ? 10 Months Update - Dr Bhatti - 3180 grafts in Jun 2013 - Forum By and for Hair Loss Patients
  23. Hey Guys, Please find attached herewith my 10 months update. I underwent FUE HT surgery with Dr Tejinder Bhatti, India on 20th June 2013. I have booked 8th May 2014 for my second FUE session with Dr Bhatti as I am not happy with what I have for now. I went in for a personal consultation last month and Doctor suggested that we should be able to get 1500-2000 grafts(at max) from the back of the scalp and possibly 300(at max) from the beard shadow area. I am 30 years old. Keeping in mind - the donor density, limited donor area and long term plan , would you please guide me on which area should I get covered to get the maximum result out of my second session ? Option 1. Front Right Scalp which appears pretty thin at this moment. There were grafts planted in this part of scalp in my first session but I believe the right scalp has not grown compared to the left one. See Immediate post op pics below to get an idea on how much area was covered. OR Option 2. Crown/back of the head. This area was left untouched in my first session for obvious reasons. first FUE session - Immediate Pre Op and Post Op Pics. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.co...dr-bhatti.html I hear a lot about the shock loss. Would it be dangerous to go for option 1 considering I would be having my second procedure in just 11 months from first session. ~eternalDenied
  24. hsrp, If you check my 7 months update you see that density in the mid to right scalp is not very good but I do see thin hair on entire area. I am in 10th months now and I believe results are better than 7 months. The thing that I am worrying now is what about shockloss ? if I choose same area to get more grafts in, would these existing hair fall of ? Could shockloss be the reason why my doctor was insisting on getting the back of my head covered ?
