  1. hsrp, thanks much for your inputs. Meds I had been using Rogaine 5% once at night from past 3-4 months but I have now stopped the same because I read it in Dr Bernstein webpage that one should stop rogaine 15 days prior to the surgery for better scalp laxity. enough time - I will be in my 11 month for second FUE. Is that a point of concern ? many asked me to wait a little longer (15 months) but I have some personal commitments due to which I need to get away with full head of hair asap.
  2. Ah, this is interesting to know. Yes, I am going to get operated by the same Doctor i.e Dr Bhatti, India.
  3. Jay, Apologies for delay in replying. I missed your original post. had you sent me a private message asking to reply on this I would have replied a lot earlier. Anyhow here you go. Questions for the patients? How many grafts did you have? 3180 Did you have any transection grafts? I didn't ask this to Doctor. Did all the grafts grew? Nope. I feel a good amount of grafts on right scalp did not grow. You can probably check that out yourself by comparing my immediate post op pics with that 7 months after. Are you happy with the results? Not happy but this should not be taken as a feedback for Doctor Bhatti's work. I trust he did a good job. However, I believe 3180 grafts could have produced a lot better results from what I have seen on this forum. Would you go back to Dr Bhatti for another HT? Yes, I have already booked a date with him for 8th May 2014. What would you do different if you had another HT with Dr Bhatti. This is a wishful thinking but I would probably ask him to plant the grafts himself rather than his technicians doing the planting work. May be I am over conscious but I believe the result would also depend on how grafts are planted. Do you also think that planting the grafts also requires a lot of skill and experience? Are you on any meds? Yes, finpecia 1 mg every alternate day. I also applied Rogaine 5% for 3-4 months not consistently though and Now I am completely off Rogaine because I want proper scalp laxity before I hit for my scheduled procedure. If possible can you supply before after photos Sure first FUE session - Immediate Pre Op and Post Op Pics. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.co...dr-bhatti.html 7 months Post Op http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.co...ne-2013-a.html
  4. Guys, Do you think it will be a good idea to put together questions to ask your doctor/points to consider before going for a second HT procedure ? I believe we have many people on this forum who have had multiple surgeries. It will be good to hear /learn from them on things they wished they knew before going for their second HT. By the end of this process, if this thread contains a lot of valuable information, may be moderators can make this a sticky one. Bring it on. Thanks much. ~eternalDenied. 5. Guys, Do we have exact definition of crown here ? I believe crown is sometimes confused with vertex etc ? Do we have a picture on this site depicting various regions on scalp ? I have highlighted my understanding of crown with white brush here. Is this correct ?
  6. Blake, I think what you said make sense. Anyhow, I have now booked my second HT session with Dr Bhatti on 8th May 2014. I read it on Dr Benstein website that one should stop using Rogaine at least 15 days before HT for better scalp laxity. So, I am now taking a break from Rogaine. I am 1.5 months away from my second HT date and I want to see if I experience any major shedding during this phase. When I met Dr Bhatti last, he said that I can stop using Rogaine as I have crossed 6 months mark and It will not aid anything to my transplanted hair. You may review my case here http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/174361-contemplating-second-hair-transplant-session.html#post2383757 ~eternalDenied
  7. Blake, Rootz -Thanks much for replying. I have not had any other side effects from Minoxidil apart from loosing almost all my hair when I stopped using it after 1+ year of consistent use back in 2009. So, minimizing the frequency down to 3 days is just an attempt on my part to make my hair least dependent on Rogaine while still capitalizing the maintenance benefit(if not new growth ). would this work ?
  8. Hey guys Are there any sticky threads here that answers the frequently asked questions for second HT ? How can we best utilize the second session. What are the questions I should be asking my doctor ? Can I expect some significant growth from 8 months to 11 months line ? How do we carefully plant new hairs in between earlier planted grafts ? What are the chances of Shock loss ? Should I not touch the earlier planted area to avoid the shock loss and go for the area that was left untouched in first session i.e back of the head.
  9. Spanker, hsrp Appreciate your response on this.Did you have a look at my 7 months updated pictures after first HT. do you feel that a lot many hair didn't grow from mid to right scalp if you compare 7 months update to immediate post op pics?
  10. yes Jay but I wouldn't want to use them. They are thin and curly. I would not love them on my head.
  11. yeah that's true but I guess I shall be able to make a better decision with experience of fellow members here. Thanks much for your advice though.
  12. Hey Guys, I have had bad experience with Rogaine 5% when I first started using it back in 2009. I used it for 1 year or so and stopped cold turkey thinking It wasn't doing anything. And then I lost 90% of hair on my head that never grew back. After that I was On and Off rogaine for quite a few years with no result whatsoever (at least I think so). fast forward to September 2013, I started Rogaine 5 % again with once a night application because It was strongly recommended by my doctor after my first HT in June 2013. Since, I am very scared of Rogaine considering my past, from Nov 2013 till date I have been using it with an average consistency of once in 3 days. I don't want my hair to become dependent on it. At the same time I don't want to loose whatever I have, definitely not my precious transplanted hair. My question is - Is it any good to keep using Rogaine once in 3 days compared to calling it quit ? Off all the documentation I have read, each one of them says if we don't use Rogaine two times a day it doesn't work. How about once in 3 days then. Is that a stupid thing to follow ? ~eternalDenied
  13. Hey Guys, I had a consultation with my Doctor few days back and I am now thinking of second FUE session sometime in May 2014. I had my first FUE HT in June 2013. Doctor suggested that we should be able to get 1500-2000 grafts(at max) from the back of the scalp and possibly 300(at max) from the beard shadow area. Doctor also suggested to comb my hair from left to right because my first session was conducted keeping that particular style in mind. Meaning thereby- more thick and dense grafting was done on the left side than right. Additionally I feel that my right scalp didn't grow well. I am 30 years old. Keeping in mind - the donor density, limited donor area and long term plan , would you please suggest which option should I go for ? first FUE session - Immediate Pre Op and Post Op Pics. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171136-my-hair-transplant-experience-3180-grafts-dr-bhatti.html 7 months Post Op http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/173584-3180-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-20th-june-2013-a.html Option 1 (Doctor's Preference) 1500-2000 grafts from the scalp donor are to the crown bald spot. and 300 beard grafts again at the left parting hairline with the idea of combing my hair from left to right Option 2 (My Preference) 1500-2000 grafts from the scalp donor are to the crown bald spot. and 300 beard grafts to the right parting hairline. I prefer this approach because this would give my hair a symmetrical look. At present my left side has got okay density and right is just good for nothing. Option 3 ( Fuller appearance ? ) Get all 1500-2000 scalp grafts and 300 beard grafts filled in mid to right scalp. and leave the crown bald. This option may work because we all know crown is a black hole and 2000 grafts may not do anything there. And since all of our interactions happens from the front ,a full head of hair in front should boost up my confidence. ~eternal denied
  14. hey guys, I bought Nanogen Kinetic 15g just today and experimented my first trial with it. I observed that a lot of Nanogen fibre rested on my scalp that gave a patchy detectable appearance. I have read really good reviews about nanogen So I guess I am doing something wrong. What am I doing wrong -Could it be lack of exiting hair ? or is it that I am applying too much ? Do I need to pat down the fibres once I sprinkle them or just leave them as it is ? please check below link to see how much hair I have got on my scalp. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/173584-3180-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-20th-june-2013-a.html
  15. Othersyde, Gokul, RNZ Apologies guys, I stopped posting to this thread since I created a new thread in the right forum to track my progress. Here is the link. your feedback is more than welcome. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/173584-3180-fue-dr-tejinder-bhatti-20th-june-2013-a.html
  16. hi, does anyone know where can I buy nanogen fibre in India? when I googled, I got so many shady looking websites that I can not make out which one is authentic. If anyone from in/around Delhi has experience with buying nanogen fibre here please let me know. Inbox me or reply in here.
  17. Thanks Bill. So, considering its difficult to differentiate between my own hair and transplante hair , can I safely apply Rogaine to all over my scalp without worrying about any negative effects on transplanted hair should I decide to quit after few years ? What I am asking is - can one be rest assured that transplanted hairs will never ever become dependent on Rogaine ?
  18. Thanks guys. Your replies are much appreciated. Would you please let me know your view points on on Rogaine/ Generic Minoxidil(5%). I have crossed the 6 months mark post HT and I have been applying Rogaine 5% once before bed time from past 3 odd months. I have also been taking finpecia (finasteride) 1 mg every alternate day and biotin 5 mg everyday since my HT. 1. Do you recommend me to keep applying Rogaine 5% ? If yes, for how long ? 2. Can transplanted hair get dependent on Rogaine 5% if we keep applying Rogaine for long ? 3. Should you recommend me to quit Rogaine, would this cause any adverse effect on my hair loss ? 4. Can I seamlessly switch to any generic Minoxidil 5% once my Rogaine supply finishes. I am now settled in India and hence would not be able to get Rogaine for long. 5. Are there chances of shedding while switching from one type of minoxidil to another type.
  19. Your response is much appreciated Jay. So that I get it clear, you mean to say that I should wait for 6 months before I go for another session ? I was hoping to have full head of hair as soon as possible. waiting 6 months for another session means its another 1.5 years before I could flaunt my crowning glory.. Time is something I don't have on my side.
  20. How about mid scalp jay ? Are you suggesting that is not gonna grow any further ?
  21. Hey Guys, Do you apply Rogaine ? Do you think I should go for another session as I am not satisfied with my results so far ? I thought 3200 grafts would be more than enough to cover my scalp(at least front to mid) but I guess I was wrong.
  22. Hey Guys, Please find attached herewith my 7 months update. I underwent FUE HT surgery with Dr Tejinder Bhatti, India on 20th June 2013. Going forward , I will be tracking my progress in this thread. Please see below link for my case history and previous pics . http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171136-my-hair-transplant-experience-3180-grafts-dr-bhatti.html Your candid review comments would be much appreciated. ~eternalDenied
