  1. Hi Deanomag,

Looks like a great result. I was close to booking with Dr Reddy at that clinic. The woman who runs it completely put me off though. Really rude and it seems from online reviews she is the weak link there.

Couple of questions. Is Dr Reddy still quoting on number of hairs rather than grafts?

How did you find the consultation with Dr Reddy? There were no measurements whatsoever when I had mine.

  2.

I have been for a consultation with the private clinic this is by far my favourite to use Dr Reddy but the way they price per hair rather than per graft firstly makes no sense to me, and secondly is double the price compared to most other places as they quoted for 4000 hairs.

I am also looking for someone in the UK but have a consultation with Bisanga in London this weekend. I was going to go with Reddy but got a really rude reply from his PA when I questioned the pricing structure. I told the doctor directly but never got a reply so they lost my business. Shame.

  3. HT soon,

    Thanks for the reply.

I didn't try reducing the dosage, I still have two or three months supply of Finastride left. What do you recommend? Cut a pill in two? I'm very cautious starting again. The pain in my testies was a warning sign not the continue with Propecia.

I was looking into the topical solution of Finasteride. None of the clinics in Hong Kong sell it. Can I purchase this online?

At some point I need a transplant. If I compare my hair with last year, it thinned out faster than I can swipe right on Tinder.

If I compare my hair with last year, I lost a lot. See picture below. My hair was also thicker :(

I had that pain as well. Don't let anyone tell you to continue on fin...it's a personal decision and your body is telling you it doesn't like it. I'm still not the same two years after taking a very small dose.

  4. What makes you assume I didnt google his name?

Did you read the joke of a thread you posted? I did. That happened in 1997 , and he himself responded to that post with some reasonable statements, unlike you.

You clearly have no reading comprehension skills and unable to back up anything you say with evidence, apart from bleating 'I'm right you're wrong I'm an expert bla bla bla".

I will refrain from responding to your posts.

For anyone else I absolutely welcome any suggestions for UK and European doctors with prices.

    Thanks..

Please just go ahead with Dr Richard Rogers. I look forward to reading a thread from you in about a year moaning about the result.

You've been given excellent advice in this thread and you just sound like you work for his clinic now.

  5. Stopping an anxiety medication is far more likely than Finasteride to be the cause of your increased anxiety. They often have very bad withdrawal/rebound effects. Finasteride doesn't suit everyone, so I'm hesitant to suggest with too much enthusiasm that you jump back on it, but it's worth trying as it can be very effective for diffuse thinners like yourself.

Just taking a very small initial dose of finasteride sent me into a anxiety episode which lasted a few weeks. I'd be be careful making medical diagnosis without consulting a trained professional.

  6. hey all

is an FUE procedure completely inadvisable for a Norwood 5 patient such as myself?

I would probably need 3000 grafts to make a serious dent in my baldness.

just wondering if I should accept my fate and embrace the FUT method instead of going FUE and living to regret it (i.e. destroying my donor area, ending up with many tiny scars that overall look worse than linear, not getting impressive coverage etc.)

Probably best to have a few consultations with some good doctors. You might not even be suitable for FUT until they can inspect your scalp etc.

  7. This is what surprises me: someone who don't know the story, the details on his family history etc, tries to be a prophet and writes nonsenses as "unnatural" "too aggressive", "bigger issues".

His pics looks really cool. Congrats!

So Superdudeo say something nice, or just be quiet.

If you think this forum is people jerking each other off, I've got news for you.

I won't continue the discussion as the OP has stated his desire not to turn this into something else. I will say the work and hair line design is excellent. I do have an issue with these mega FUE sessions though and their likely impact on patient in the long term and I don't think they should be held up to newcomers as a shining example.

  8. Well that’s your opinion. I’m currently buzzed down to a 1.5 mm, shortest length guard on my clippers before a 0 and you cannot see any loss in density from pre op photos and no scarring visible.

    .

Firstly, you've had about 2200 grafts so of course it will be fine right now. My concern is that they are misleading you by saying you have a further 4000 available. I suggest you research FUE surgeries to see what is possible. Over 6000 grafts from FUE is almost unheard of from ethical FUE surgeons but you don't sound like you really care. I'm just stating this if any newcomers see this as an example and think its normal.

  9. Quite a presumptuous post, but, I respect your opinion and there is nothing I can do about it either way now anyway, so it is what it is - but I am very happy with the hairline, the consultation I received beforehand and the results so far, which is the main thing.

    Thanks for your feedback.

You'll have to explain how I'm being presumptuous, I don't see how I am.

I think - on a public platform - its important to show a sense of what is normal and achievable with HT's. There are lots of new people coming here to get an impression of what can be achieved. I have to ask, would any of the top top FUE surgeons give a hairline that aggressive on a person with your characteristics and I have to say that I most definitely don't think they would. There are too many long term implications that don't make this an ethical choice for the patient.

  10.

Anyway, if I get to middle-age and my problem is too youthful of a hairline, I’ll take that over no hair all day long I guess ;)

I think there are bigger issues than you're imagining. When you start thinning out on top and in the crown when you're older, it will look really unnatural to still have hair at the front like that.

I do agree that this hairline is too aggressive, not a lot of thought has gone into the long term which the surgeon should be guiding you on.

  11. Yeah, I’ve got at least another 3000/4000 grafts they told me and I’m planning on going back next year if the results turn out ok for the same amount on the crown and mid section.

Sorry dude, there's absolutely no way you have another 3 to 4000 grafts after already having 3000 grafts. You are most likely at your maximum already, if not close.

  12. I am wondering if anyone can tell me their opinion about dr Erkan.. i have been browsing for a while and i think he has got some positive reviews and his prices are relatively low

So please if anyone can give me advice i would be so grateful

    Thanks

I was close to booking Dr Demirsoy. I believe he is a great surgeon, I shortlisted him from a few other turkish doctors. He is ethical and responsible so definitely consider him.

  13. I don't claim to be a HT expert or anything. But I believe I can provide useful information about Turkey/İstanbul and Turkish doctors/clincs since I've been researching some time now. I

I've seen hundreds of results in Turkish forums which most of you have not heard of. When someone asks for a Turkish clinic, I can provide result photos from other networks etc.

I've noticed some people have been victims of marketing here. So why not help to prevent more people from getting hurt?

    So who would you recommend?

  14. Hi Bill.

This was really a case of bizarre timing of several events that just added up in the wrong direction.

I now understand what had happened.

Thank you and Webmaster for clearing up things.

Removing my comments on this topic.

In hindsight, I agree that I should have given you and the forum the benefit of the doubt.

I personally think you should make some sort of apology to the Medikemos rep myself. I think they had every right to ask you to back any statements up and I didn't think they were being aggressive at all. If you're going to slur the clinic, then they have a right of reply.

Also thinking you're an 'authority' on hair transplants because you've been a patient a few times kind of undermines the people who are living and breathing this stuff every single day in a clinic. They are the authority and experts. You've made judgments and assumptions on that clinic on an extremely small subset of cases they've worked on.

  15. Hi there

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on booking a surgery with Dr. Bisanga for an FUE, 2500/2700 graft transplant.

I have done what I feel is good research (lurked forums) and Dr. Bisanga seems to fit the bill very well in regards to his online reviews and in dealing with him personally.

I had a consultation with him in London a few weeks ago.

Now, despite having felt very confident in my research I've become very nervous about making the final booking, paying the deposit and wondering if I'm making the right choice.

Another aspect is that I started taking Propecia under Dr.Bisanga's advice.

I was adamant on not taking Propecia due to the possible side affects but took it under his good word.

I have become anxious about long term effects of this drug.

I'd like to ask here if there's any advice or re-assurance you'd be able to give based on my choices?

I know a lot of things are down to personal preference of course but I trust your greater knowledge

of both the drug Propecia and of Dr. Bisanga within the world of surgery.

I would truly appreciate any advice you could give!

    Thank you

I wouldn't let anyone tell you to take the drug, even a doctor. It's a personal decision.

I wondered the same as you a few years back. I got sides. I'm still not 100% but it took me over a year to recover properly. There are loads of people out there that have had sides persist.

End of the day, do you want to take a medicine long term that changes you at a hormonal level? It's a big decision.

  16. Hey Nick.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I haven't heard of this clinic before.

I don't want to alarm you but it looks like they've taken hair from outside of the safe zone in your donor area but I'm not an expert.

Did you discuss your long term plan? Looks like you were pushing a norwood 6, I hope you have some donor left for a long term plan.

  17. Quoting once again above what I wrote in my original post in it's original form.

Nowhere did I even mention Dr. Lupanzula's name so my comment is not even searchable.

If the clinic is so angered and pissed off that a veteran HRN member and multiple time patient is stating his honest opinion - to the point someone complained to have a long standing account disabled - then there is something seriously wrong here.

You cannot force people to like the work of a doctor through coercion.

I am not impressed with the level of density produced and neither is forum member KO.

Disable all the accounts you wish, but that will not change the truth.

    Hey man,

Before going 'scorched earth', see what the mods say. I know you're angry but wait and see.

  18. I also hope this is a mistake and I'm sure the mods will reply soon.

I'm not sure its fair to compare this to the Joe situation because there was obvious conflict of interest in that scenario.

No one should be silenced on here for well reasoned opinion and I hope the mods reverse this decision. If you've been contributing to the community for that long, it's definitely concerning.

  19. Bisanga is well known for only taking on cases where they can get a really good result.

I'm not doubting that the procedure is more difficult and requires great skill

Your second statement contradicts the first. BHR have many repair clients who they took on with no guarantee of a good result, if the procedure is more difficult and requires more skill then according to your first statement why would bhr take them on?

    Hope this explains

    ej

Sure, I understand what you mean but I'm coming from the bigger picture. A clinic - for most of their custom - are judged on their HT results, not on their repair work.

Whether repair or normal HT is harder for the surgeon doesn't matter to the average customer.

Therefore, some clinics will turn down patients that are challenging to maintain their reputation. They don't want to showcase anything other than excellent results and sometimes, the more challenging cases can look less than this high standard.

Repair work is more niche, the clinic is less often judged on this.

I don't see where this contradicts anything. It's about the presentation the clinic wants to put out, which again is not a criticism, just an observation to bear in mind.

  20. I don't think what I have said is outside of common knowledge. Bisanga is well known for only taking on cases where they can get a really good result. That's not criticism but it can deter some people who don't consult other surgeries. Not ever

I just find the above statements quite contradictory to be honest. No offence intended.

I think a clinic is equally scrutinised on all their work. Be it repair/fut/fue. I would also point out that both procedures are used in repair work anyway.

The patient is in a last chance situation and the last thing anyone would want is the poor guy to be made any worse. That is why I think only the most ethical highly skilled doctors can offer improvement. It seems to me that if a doctor can perform great repair work then everyday fue/ fut would be a walk in the park for them.

    Again just my opinion.

Regarding a clinic or doctors reputation it is hard to judge online as most do not post their results. If a clinic does one procedure a day five days a week then that is twenty a month no way do we see that amount of cases posted

Research is key if in doubt do nothing

    ej

I don't know what's contradictory about them. It would help if the quotes were right.

  21. I believe repair work to be much more challenging for a physician

than a virgin scalp. I think the doctor needs to be highly skilled to

    perform successful repair procedures.

Of course this is just my opinion.

Repair procedures present the doctor with many difficulties.

Limited donor reserves, in my case restricted to beard. The extraction method is critical as to not leave any scarring on the clients face.

The doctor needs to be highly skilled at extraction to achieve this, small .8 mm hand held manual punches with the option to pick up a .9 mm manual punch for a graft containing 2 or 3 hairs, rather than one punch fits all that may result in transection.

Equally the grafts have to be used to maximum effect to camoflague scarring caused by earlier poor surgical techniques. Vascularity has to be taken into account also, grafting at too high a density can cause poor yeild as blood supply is restricted due to micro scarring.

A well planned series of procedures is critical to the end result, similar to a norwood 5-6 who in my opinion unless they have excellent donor reserves or realistic expectations, may well be better off avoiding this procedure in the first place to avoid disappointment.

    ej

Sure, I'm not doubting that the procedure is more difficult and requires great skill, I'm just saying that the clinics reputation is less depended or scrutinised on that type of work; they are less likely to be judged on it. How many people approach the clinic for repair vs FUE/FUT?

    A lot fewer I'd say.

  22.

    Hi Superdude

I find that an odd statement to be honest. I was turned down by many so called `top doctors`and Dr Bisanga took my difficult repair on. One of the things I liked at the consultation was his honesty. The doctor said to me that he could make no guarantees or promises of any improvement, however he would try his best for me.

He was also happy for me to share my experiences on the forums from the outset regardless of how things turned out.

A lot of repair clients have been hugely improved by BHR and that also played a part in my original decision to go there. Unfortunately their experiences get lost in the hundereds of pages that make up the forum so people have to use the search function and take the time to do detailed research.

Perhaps your comments about clients getting a really good result relate to the many who go for hairline or temple work, norwood 3`s who have a lot of native hair behind to back the result up. I always think these are stellar results and more often than not the results we see online from all physicians.

    http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/160800-scar-repair-1032-beard-hairs-dr-bisanga-16.html

I am not sure a repair procedure can be compared to a fresh patient who is a norwood 5 or 6 and the clinics results will be judged more thoroughly. One is coming from a stance of "can you try your best to fix this" and the other "can you transform my hairline".

However, I'm approaching them again so I will see if you're correct.
