  1. 5Month Mark after OP. Dr.Resul Yaman. @rickyrixon - relation to your question. I don't take any drug because of side effect.

and today I passed 5months and 4days after OP.

This point, I am worrying about final result when I compare other doctor's result from this forum.

    is this good enough?

    what do you guys think?

    regards,

I wonder if the lack of medication is affecting this result?

  2. I remember an Italian patient I met was at the clinic for repair. He had his first surgery in Turkey (not a recommended doctor). Lucky for him unlike alot of patients that had surgery in Turkey he was able to be repaired. Biggest issue with repairing these patients is that the donor is destroyed and there is no donor left. Some receive up 5000 grafts for one price but either the grafts didnt grow or it is very unnatural.

So when I met him I asked him where he went and which doctor. He told me a funny but scary story. During his surgery there was a tech that spoke italian (lived in Rome for two years he said) and he started a converstation with her. He asked her how long have you been working at the clinic. She said truthfully I started today. She explained she was with a friend having coffee and a man approached her and asked her if she wanted a job. They took her to the clinic and trained her for about 30-45 minutes and had her perform surgery with another tech using a motorized handheld FUE remover. She said she was leaving at the end of the day because she has no idea what she is doing and if I remember correctly was getting paid about 1-2 euros an hour. Again this is what the patient told me.

That is horrifying. I wonder what will become the Turkey transplant industry if they ever become part of europe? I guess by the time that happens, we may have a magic little pill instead of FUE etc.

  3. I don't think Dr Cinik is a consideration so that leaves you with the other two.

I am also deciding between those two and I am slightly concerned about the high number of grafts that Dr Yaman does, not only that but he seems to do them all in one day.

Dr Demirsoy seems more ethical in my opinion.

If you're really stretching on budget then Dr Karadeniz may be worth looking into.

  4. Hello,

The BBC chose us for their documentary, which you will see regular updates on (at least this is what we are told).

They have interviewed our patient Chris B. and he is sending photos over on regular basis.

Unlike many clinics in Turkey, in our operations, majority of the work, extraction and opening the channels are done by our surgeon Dr. Tayfun Oguzoglu.

It's very unfortunate to see so many so-called hair clinics are opening almost everyday and young and unqualified staff performing the entire operation.

We stand up against those clinics and try providing enough information to help patients understand the difference.

    Thank you,

It's a shame the BBC didn't do this report anonymously. I won't be able to trust the outcome of any result considering the clinic was given advanced notice of the surgery. It's not an objective result.

  5. Dr.K was recommended before on this website. I am not saying he is not a good transplant doctor but he would not be in my top 50 doctors I would recommend. I think you have a lot of better choices. Until I see some good and great results my opinion will be the same. I know he is a good ethical doctor and he is cheap so I understand why people consider him. Can you show me a great result from him? A huge transformation?

I can't no, I'm not disagreeing with you...only wanting to learn!

I can't help feeling that his not so spectacular results are because of the low number of grafts that he does. Does his ethical stance have an impact on his final results?

If Dr Resul did the same number of grafts as Dr K, would he get the same result?

  6. I think Dr. K is ethical but I don't consider him a great transplant doctor. I have seen no results that say otherwise.

Regardless I wouldn't go to Turkey right now

    https://www.rt.com/usa/364706-istanbul-diplomats-families-leave/

Are there any particular things you can pinpoint as to why this is or is it a lack of experience with Dr K?

Dr Resul always seems to get good results on here but often you see really high numbers of grafts from him which does make me question things from an ethical point of view and the future of the patient.

Before anyone wonders why I resurrected this thread, I'm researching my first op - I don't work for Dr K or anything!

  7. I haven't seen any of his result that are mind blowing. Maybe he doesn't have the staff to do a lot of grafts or the experience. I have not seen any bad results but no cases that I would consider a huge transformation. Some doctor work in their comfort zone which there is nothing wrong with.

    Again this is my opinion.

One thing I would say is that Dr K seems ethical. He won't be doing 5000 grafts in one day like a lot of Dr's in Turkey. In fact I don't think he even does that many grafts full stop.

  8. One week and I will complete the 10 months mark.

Results have improved since my 8 months mark. Still not sure about the final results.

I will respect the Dr Yaman request to wait for final results before publishing the photos so I don't do any harm to him.

Yes, results are better but I believe have density problem!

waiting ... waiting ... tired of waiting ... but can't do anything but waiting

    Hi Indexo,

Thanks for your update. I know you seem reluctant to post pictures on here of your progress so I respect that. I think we can all agree here that less successful surgeries do not always mean the surgeon is at fault, some people may not always react the same way to HT surgery.

I guess for people like myself who have yet to embark on a HT - we would find it useful to see your progress visually because we could manage our expectations better and further our knowledge of the period post surgery.

    Thanks again.

  9. I'm really unsure about this doctor , some of his results on his own website seem pretty average at best !

I'm pretty sure Dr Karadeniz is one of the few doctors that doesn't exaggerate photos and gives an accurate portrayal of his work. He seems to be quite conservative on his FUE hairlines, having said that, even on his higher FUE grafts, the densities do look quite lacking.

  10. I've seen the forums you are talking about. Question is, do you know what you're looking for for telltale signs of a good hair transplant because it doesn't appear you do? I'm still learning myself. Search on this site for Cosmedica and see the truth yourself.

The surgeon will be drawing a hairline only whilst his assistants do all the work. You might as well get one done in a backstreet. Is that what you want? It's actually not legal what they're doing. The surgeon should be doing the work.

I cannot see your hairline from your pictures properly but consider this. What if you get to the age of 35 to 40 and your hair starts thinning? You'll be left with what the transplant has given you and then only half the donor hair left to cover a much larger area. You're taking a massive risk, especially with the fact you're not taking medication.

  11. Introduction

I'm thinking of having an FUE transplant this summer in Turkey and I would like some advice on the following clinics. I'm nervous and want to get this right.

    About me

I'm a 28 year old male from Manchester, England and I'm a norwood 3V. My father is 67 and a norwood 3V. I've basically inherited his hairline, except my hair is more coarse and prone to looking a mess when it is windy or when I sweat. I have lost my hairline since the age of 22 and it has now stabilised.

    Why I want a transplant

My hair causes me a lot of stress. If there is the slightest bit of wind or if I sweat (I also have hyperhidrosis), I look an absolute mess. I have been scared of the wind for years. I don't like how I look with a shaved head and I've taken to using hairspray. I strongly believe I will not progress beyond a norwood 3V or 4, so I believe I am a candidate for FUE. Farjo clinic here in Manchester is too expensive, and Shahmalak has some negative reviews (and is also expensive). I am nervous about getting a transplant as it is surgery and will change how I look, but these forums have inspired me and I believe it will improve my quality of life. I only want to do this once, so I want to get it right and I don't want a huge number of grafts taken, as I want to play it safe and I don't want a sparse donor area. I believe 3000 grafts is my sweet spot.

    Cosmedica

Price: 1990 euros for unlimited grafts (?1540)

Positives: Good review on another forum from another English person, uses FUE method with + PRP (plateled rich plasma), Dr Levent Acar has 8 years experience, cheaper, includes hotel and transport.

Negatives: Technicians remove grafts, not surgeon. Not as well known. I might not get Dr Acar (though I would insist).

    Dr Resul Yaman

    Price: 1 euro per graft (3500 euros for 3500 grafts - ?2700)

Positives: Dr Yaman makes all of the incisions himself with a rotating FUE device with punch sizes ranging between .7mm and .9mm, PRP method, includes hotel and transport.

Negatives: More expensive, not as well known? I think I will need around 3000 grafts, not 3500.

    Dr Demisroy

Price: 1.25 euro per graft (?3400 for 3500 grafts or ?2900 for 3000 grafts)

Positives: Well known, good reviews, hotel and transport included.

Negatives: More expensive for me (around ?3500 I guess).

    My Pictures

These have been edited by Dr Resul Yaman and are attached below. He thinks I need 3500 grafts, but I think he has drawn my hairline a bit low. However, my temples are high. I have diffused on top (diffuse thinner) so I believe my transplant doesn't need to be too dense in order to match.

Firstly, don't even consider Cosmedica. Wipe it from your mind now unless you want to pay extra in the future to mend their mistakes. I would continue researching this as even considering Cosmetic indicates you haven't researched much.

There's no guarantee you've inherited your dads hair. You could lose a lot more than him, are you on medication to halt things?

Dr Yaman has given you a rough idea of what he's thinking, he hasn't drawn a definitive hairline for you, this is for you both to look at in person.

I'm no expert but if I were in your position I would wait a few more years and see if medication works for me. Once I know it does and the hair is at a stable loss, I would then go ahead. You only have a finite number of donor hairs to make things right and you're young.

  12. At last I have finally found a discussion about Dr Oztan. Am too thinking of using Dr Oztan. His results look very good. I love the fact that he only does around 1500 grafts max per day.

I am a NW5 and need a complete new hairline, which definitely concerns me the most. I have been told I have very good donor hair by two other surgeons, one being Dr Erdogan who I met with in London last week.

I completed an online consultation with FUE Hairline Clinic Turkey | (Dr Oztan) on 16/05/16 and received a reply last night (20/05/16) They have suggested between 3000-3500 grafts over 3 consecutive days to rebuild the hairline and a second procedure 12 months later to tackle the crown. Dr Erdogan estimated between 5000-5500 grafts to cover my frontal zone and crown over 2 consecutive days. I found 5000-5500 to be a lot of extractions over 2 days.

I really like the idea of having 3000 grafts over 3 days this suggest to me they will take their time and just concentrate on the 1000 grafts each day.

Saying all that, I find myself at cross roads once again. I can't find any reviews or experiences people have had with Dr Oztan or his clinic FUE Hairline Clinic Turkey | which concerns me slightly. I know some of you guys have mentioned he has a great reputation on the foreign forums but am not sure where to look.

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Everything points to Dr Oztan being excellent, his FUE protocol - everything. But you're right, I cannot find much of his work to analyse.

For me, the purpose for going to Turkey is to get a better price. If I were to consider a price level of Dr Oztan then I would just go to Belgium where their work is more documented and proven.

  13. I am having the same dilemma. I've got 2 front runners but a few remain as options. Dr Erdogan because his reputation speaks for itself. Dr Oztan who I didn't know much about as he doesn't seem to be on the english speaking forums too often but his work is great and seems big in the non english forums but he is at 2.7 euro per graft, so slightly higher than Erdogan. Those are my 2 front runners based on work Id seen and rep from here and elsewhere. Then I have Dr Karadeniz who I thought highly of but has since disappeared from the forums for whatever reason so I am a little nervous about him. I am still waiting on response from Yaman its been a few days. Dr Demisroys work just hasn't impressed me in the same way as the others but I am still trying to find more of his work to compare. Ive never heard of Dr. oguzoglu so I will have to look him up.

Dr Karadeniz may be absent but he can be found elsewhere and lots of examples of his work. He was recommended on here and didn't continue.

Personally if you're talking prices of 2.7 euro per graft then I'd rather just go to Belgium.

  14. Hi Sivy,

I am in a similar position to you in terms of seeking a doctor. Have you been given an estimation of number of grafts? I found this can vary quite a bit from doctor to doctor which I assume is to do with their FUE protocol.

I don't know about dr oguzoglu. Everything I read about Dr Demisroy indicates he is highly ethical which for me is important. I am seriously considering him or Dr Yaman. You will require far less grafts than me, I feel both of these doctors are very capable.

  15. Hi all,

I am considering to having a hair transplant operation at Este Prime clinic in Istanbul. The doctor is Yasemin Turgut.

I've told about having 4,000 FUE grafts (2-3 hairs each graft) in a single day (6-8 hours) and was quoted the amount of 1,350 euros.

I am glad I found this forum before I proceed with the operations and thought of asking whether anyone has heard of them or had a personal experience.

    Any comments/thoughts much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Hi,

If you consider that the best doctors in Turkey charge around 2.5 euros per graft you have to ask yourself, how is this clinic able to offer me a price that is over 7x cheaper? What are they saving money on?

You may not need to seek out the best surgeon in Turkey but 7x cheaper? Having looked up where your doctor works, you can be confident that he oversees assistants doing the work rather than doing it himself. Do you want that risk?

  16. I'm also considering Dr. Resul Yaman also, but when i spoke to his assistant he told me that extractions are done by technicians under his supervision, so there is a misleading here unlike his recommendation details.....

    Hi Toni,

That is annoying but I'm sure it is some kind of miscommunication. From personal accounts on here Dr Raman sounds very hands on and I'm sure you have already read but he stated this in another thread which we have no reason to doubt:

"I decide the transplantation area and the hairline.I use a special technic to draw the hairline. Some parts of the eyebrows and the ending point of the eyelids are marked in order to take measurements. From these marks to the edge of the face, I take measurements and equalize both sides to form a symmetric line.

I create the recipient incisions by using lateral slits.

I do extraction with micromotor by myself by using 0,7-0,8 and rarely 0.9 punches according to the hair thickness . I lower the spin speed of the device. It is a very good device that lets us get extractions similar to manual FUE.

The assistants carry out the planting.

I have modified the current procedure a bit.Because the grafts spend more time outside of the body with this procedure. I pay attention to not to extract more than 1500 follicles at once. The operation might be done from one to four phases. After extracting and implanting 1000-1500 grafts. It is repeated fort he next phases.

I have gone through the forum and realised that some problems had raised. My clinic is in a hospital which has many doctors from different specialty work and aproved by Turkish Ministry of Health.I operate one or two patients a day which I think is still tiring. You can be sure that we are not a clinic which cares too much about financial concerns and operating many patients in a day and most of the work done by assailants"
