  1. Thanks for the heads up guys! Glasgoirish67 I was tempted to stay in th UK again but after reading and researching on here I decided to bite the bullet and go for it and I'm glad I did! How are you looking in these early stages, anything exciting happening?!
  2. Hi everyone. Just arrived back from what can only be described as a very smooth and very slick HT with Dr Feller. I've struggled with hairloss for over 12 years now, everyday dominated by hairspray and weather conditions and if I've got my bald spots covered (you know the drill!) then heading out in to work etc hoping it all stays in place! Constantly mocked by friends and workmates and 2 failed attempts at HT's here in the UK (thank you Hospital Group!) I'd finally had enough. I've been a silent follower on this site for some time, gathering info and tips along the way. I would be nowhere if it wasn't for this site it's helped me tremendously! I emailed several Docs and the first to reply was Spex. As everyone knows, Spex is one of the most respected people on here, and I can also say one of the nicest too! He gave me great advice and told me to do more research before I made the choice of Dr. He let me make my own decision and when I decided on going with Dr Feller he was more than willing to help out with any questions I had, he even came to my house for a look at my hair! I arrived in NYC on Thursday and my op was on the Friday. Such were my nerves that I arrived 20 minutes early, stomach churning, Dr Feller arrived and we headed up to his office. In the lift upstairs he complemented me on my hair saying it was in good condition, no one has ever said that before! He really put me at ease and filled me with confidence within minutes of talking to him, I found him to be a top bloke, friendly, funny but most importantly, professional. After a brief chat about what I wanted and what could be achieved he drew the lines on my head and we both agreed that that was the way forward. I got my gown on, got in the chair and the Doc started the injections in to the donor area. These aren't that bad and are over in a minute. When my head felt like a crash helmet he started taking the strip. This was done and stapled back up within an hour, unbelievably quick! We were chatting throughout but when it got to the serious business of making the incisions for the grafts he said he needed complete silence and I complied and lay there as still as I possibly could. Incisions made, in came the nurses to place the grafts, again in complete silence. This took about 3 hours. Dr Feller would come in, in regular intervals to check on the work and to see if I was ok. When all the incisions were filled with grafts there were 300 grafts left over so the Doc made more incisions (great news for me let me tell you!). After the last few incisions back came the nurses and placed the final few in there and that was that. From the first injection to leaving the building, the whole experience lasted just over 4 hours, I was genuinely taken aback at how quick everything went. The lovely nurses cleaned me up and I went to Dr Feller's office for my post-op instructions and final chat. He told me I was a great patient and would possibly not need to see him again for any future work (I really bloody hope so!). He managed to take out 98% of my previous scar and I was more than happy with that. He passed me a mirror to let me see his work and I was over the moon with it and if I do need anymore work done in the future then I wouldn't hesitate in going back. All in all it was a great experience with a great Doc! Thank you Dr Feller and Spex, early days yet but if my results match my op then I'm gonna look like Teenwolf! Attached are photos 3 days post op taken with an iphone, you can tell the swelling in my forehead on some photos. Hopefully Dr Feller will pass on the pre, post and during photos to Spex and he can add them to here. Thanks Doc for the extra 200 grafts, you are a gentleman and a scholar!
  3. Well here goes...! After years of deliberating and researching the best in the business following two seriously substandard HT's courtesy of the Hospital Group a number of years ago, I am finally booked for 1800 grafts with Dr Feller next week. I am hoping to cover the pluggy look of the two previous HT's and hopefully fill in a little around the temple areas. Here are some photos. Photo #1 is pretty much how my hair looks normally and I can just about hide the old HT's and my receding hairline but it's getting harder to do. Nervous but excited!
