  1. I got a hair transplant in india a while ago.(FUT) I got a big scar in the donor area which makes me conscious and very difficult while having a hair cut. In the long run is there any treatment to reduce the scar or to make it less ugly? Any pointers would be helpful
  2. Hi all, I am in a stage between NW1 and NW 2 and been using minoxidil 5% and Finasteride 1mg capsules marketed as Finpecia in India for a while. I would be moving to Raleigh, North Carolina ,USA in a week. I have been getting minoxidil and finasteride in India without any prescription. Is there a way to get these in USA or is prescription compulsory? I see that these are being sold in amazon do they sell without prescription? And also are they of good quality and reliable? Also how are FInasteride 1mg tablets sold & marketed there? Which is the best brand name? In short my questions: 1) Finasteride 1mg capsules - market name, brand in USA? 2) Is it possible to get finasteride and minoxidil without prescription? If how yes? Or is a prescription from India valid ? Any inputs would be very much helpful
  3. Hi, I have started to bald and started applying minoxidil 5% to avoid hair loss. My hair has good texture when I apply almon oil before taking a shower. I apply minoxidil foam (indian one) before sleeping. A few hours later ( approx 4 hours later) I was waking up and applying almond oil and then sleeping . The I wake up in the morning and take a shower. Have been following this for a week. But I want to know if hair oil can be applied a few hours after applying minoxidil. Does it cause any hair loss. Want to be sure so they i am not worsening the problem Thanks in advance
  4. @Future_HT_Doc I wash my hair everyday and usually observe around 60-70 hair in the drain. I am not yet bald, but the look of so many hair on the floor frightens me @gillenator when comb my hair in controlled circumstances repeatedly i see approx 60-70 on the floor.Worries me!
  5. I got a hair transplant at 19 yrs on my temples. The results are mediocre. Anyways the main issue is i am 22 now and still most of the remaining is still present and condition not worsening. But i am afraid that in the future if i start losing the remaining hair and recedes the present hair transplant will look very odd and will affect my confidence. How to avoid such damage ? and once the inevitable happens is it possible to correct the already transplanted hair and star over with a fresh hairline and transplant ? Thanks. PS 1 ) I am from india and been taking finasteride )alternate days and minoxidil foam (alternate days) . 2)If there is any stage between NW0 and NW 1 i would be between the 2. Actually the hair line recided when i entered puberty and is in the same stae for the past 3 years.
  6. Most of the posts i see in this thread on research and future are some good hair transplant surgeries which will help cover "post balding". But I could not see any progress or information regarding any treatment which could potentially save the remaining hair ? I know balding is like aging which cannot be completely stopped or has a cure but still once we we lose the hair we start losing confidence. Any preventive measure would be awesome compared to post damage patch up. And ys propecia and minoxidil are present but to take then on a daily basis troughout the life, a tough task! Who knows what happens in the future and the long term side effects ( i dont care abt the hormonal side effects as long as it save the remaining hair i have! )
  7. I got a transplant on the temple region. The surgeon did not do a good job so the density in the transplanted area is very less. In the future is it possible to get a transplant on the already transplanted area where the density is less? more like a repair surgery ? Thanks
  8. I am not bald yet. Trying to prevent it. I have not seen any considerable difference in shedding after moving from liquid minoxidil to foam. I feel foam works better (or maybe the new shampoo might make it look thicker not sure) No problems with foam till now
  9. I started using minoxidil foam. Its a a blessing! donot know whether it is as effective as the liquid but no itch at all! no scal p irritation, living in peace now
  10. I am 22 yrs old, from india. I am using the indian version of minoxidil by cipla. Has been using it for the past 5 months. The scalp has become extremely itchy and i purchased a bike recently. I am unable to put on the helmet because it is causing even more itch sensation and irritation which is unbearable. I read online that minoxodil foam doesnot cause as much scalp inflammation, but it is not available in india and the imported version is too costly. Is there any shampoo or conditioner to control the itch and irritation. Started using nizoral twice a week from the last week ,but i donot see any decrease. Is there any other alternative? Is 8X shampoo better? Is minoxidil in glycol available in india?
  11. I have searched the internet this question "losing how many hair a day is normal?" I've got results varying from 20-25 in some websites to 100-125 in majority of sites , 15-20 as suggested by an amateur trichologist in richfeel clinic to around 100 as suggested by a hair transplant doctor I met. So what is the normal daily hair fall number??
  12. Sorry doctor. That was a typing mistake. Actually I had a hair transplant 17-18 months earlier.
  13. I had hair transplant approximately 18 months earlier. The hair in the recipient area is good but the problem is half the hair in the recipient area(the tansplanted hair) is still curly and frizzy. Is this the permanent nature of the transplanted hair or will they become normal?
