  1. Hi fueonly, I only have these photos below of this patient at the moment which he is not shaved however you can follow this link http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/171092-dr-maras-hdc-hair-transplant-clinic-2050-grafts-beard-healing-donor.html= which shows the patient shaved shortly after the procedure. Regards Alex
  2. Hi fueonly All the hair in this case are scalp hair. We have used 2400 grafts for the frontal third and 300 scalp donor grafts on the scar. Regards Alex
  3. Hi Everybody, The patient is back to Cyprus for his FUE procedure in order to restore his frontal third. Below you can see the progress of his initial FUE procedure with HDC that took place 4 months ago with the aim to disguise his old Strip scar with 679 beard grafts. Warmest Regards Alex
  4. Hi Nick153452, You have a point. I think this is cause by the way the hair is combed and from the lighting of the photo. If I can get some more lifestyle photos I will post them.
  5. Hello everybody, below you can see the 7 months progress of a frontal third hair restoration and a Strip scar disguise procedure by Dr.Maras who is the medical director of HDC hair transplant clinic and was supported by the rest of HDC's medical team. The result photos were posted in another non English language forum by the patient who has been sharing his experience since day 1. The patient had a Strip procedure in the past elsewhere, with minimum growth that left him with an unwanted hairline and a scar at the donor area. The plan was to safely extract as many as needed scalp FUE grafts from his donor area in order to restore the frontal third and to disguise the scar as well. Finally 2700 grafts were extracted over two consecutive days in order to cover both, the front with 2400 grafts and the scar with 300 grafts. The patient was using finasteride and minoxidil long before his hair transplant, performed at HDC. 6. Hi Mickey85, This is a very good question but Dr Maras says that there is not a text book answer that can apply. Every patient case is different and the approach depends on several factors like hair characteristics surrounding the scar compare to beard hair characteristics like texture, thickness etc. In the case where the patient has available scalp hair as well for example it might be better to mix both scalp and beard however I point out again that each case is different and the approach varies. In patient repair cases or disguising Strip scars we collect all the factors involved among the patients goal and plan the procedure accordingly. The density to be used again depends on various factors however Dr Maras is in a favor of completing the scar disguise over a single session if possible so that the patient does not need to go through the inconvenience(flying, shaving donor, redness, days off work etc) of a second procedure. Regards Alex

  9. Hello Everybody, This is a case of a patient who wanted to disguise his Strip scar that was created in another clinic. Dr Maras and HDC’s medical team suggested the use of beard hair only to disguise the scar in order to leave untouched the rest of his scalp donor for further sessions. The patient is due to return back for more FUE work on top after the summer. The photos below show the scar and donor before, immediately after and 4 days post op to show the healing. I will update the post with the result soon. Regards Alex BEFORE IMMEDIATELY AFTER RECIPIENT AREA IMMEDIATELY AFTER DONOR AREA 4 DAYS POST OP DONOR AREA 4 DAYS POST RECIPIENT AREA
  10. Hi All, We have created a small video of the second surgery of this patient that 1200 beard grafts were extracted showing the quick healing. Regards Alex
  11. Hi HARIRI, I am preparing to post a new case were we used only beard hair for disguising a Strip scar. I will post only photos of before and immediately after for the moment as it was performed recently. I will be updating the post with the progress. Regards Alex
  12. Hello Everybody, This is a case of a patient that was performed by Dr Maras and HDC’s medical team. The extraction took place in 2 sessions over a 2 month interval. 1st surgery was for 850 beard grafts 2nd surgery was for 1200 grafts Total of 2050 grafts What I want to present in this thread is the healing of the beard donor, immediately post op and during the week that follows. Also I want to point out that the grafts were removed evenly over the whole beard area without leaving gaps in any part. The beard has been thinned throughout evenly and it looks so natural without signs of surgery. This is a very good example that shows that we can harvest over 2000 grafts from a good beard donor in order to expand our patient’s donor capabilities when required easily. We will present the whole case of this patient later in another thread were over 7000 FUE grafts in total were extracted as he was a class 6 on the Norwood scale. 13. Hello everybody, Below you can see the progress of a scar revision procedure by Dr.Maras who is the medical director of HDC hair transplant clinic and was supported by the rest of HDC's medical team. The patient had Strip procedures in the past elsewhere that left him with a big scar at the back and sides of his head that did not allow him to have a short hair style as his work demands being in the police force. The aim was to extract as many as possible scalp FUE grafts from his limited donor area and then as many more required from his chest to disguise the scar. * Finally 800 scalp grafts were extracted and 175 chest grafts. Another option for this patient was to use beard hair that usually are coarser than chest however the patient preferred to leave them as his last option. Dr Maras lately is been working a lot on beard hair expanding patient’s donor capabilities without scarring. The photos below present the scar area before, immediately after, 15 days after at 6 months and 7 months progress. 14. Dear Questionmark, This patient is leaving in Italy and he is posting his result photos in an Italian forum. I will keep updating this post as he does his and I will request him to post some with wet hair. The photo below is in the surgery a few minutes after the previous ones taken. You can see that the hairs now are less wet. Regards Alex
  15. Hello everybody, Below you can see the result of a Strip procedure by Dr.Maras who is the medical director of HDC hair transplant clinic and was supported by the rest of HDC's medical team. This patient when contacted HDC already had two Strip procedures elsewhere. His second Strip scar was very low and almost outside the safe zone donor area; therefore it was decided to remove only the one scar which was higher. The final number of grafts that were harvested was 2975. The photos below present before, immediately after at 4 month progress and at 6 months.I will be updating the post regularly. 16. Hello everybody, Below you can see the result of a 2200 graft FUE procedure and then the immediately after photos of 1800 grafts performed by Dr.Maras who is the medical director of HDC hair transplant clinic and was supported by the rest of HDC's medical team. This is an interesting case because the patient had very low donor density with fine hair and under average hair per follicular unit. The plan was to extract maximum in two sessions in order to restore his hair loss as further back as possible. You can see below that after the second session, that 1800 grafts were extracted covered most of the empty scalp looking natural and with reasonable density. I will be updating the progress of his second procedure in due time. 17. Hi Mickey85, No need for PM as i agree the more information forum readers receive the better. Dr Maras' typical FUE hair transplant procedure ranges between 2500 to 3500 grafts over a period of 2 days and asserts that FUE is ideal for all patients with normal Donor density and can extract over 6000 grafts in 3 different visits. The donor capabilities can reach up to 8000+ grafts by including 2000 beard hair grafts once available. Regards Alex
  18. Hi Mickey85, Dr Maras does all the punch himself and part of the extraction. The rest of the extraction is deligated to our( not part time or fly in) technicians with proven truck record results over time. Regards Alex
  19. Hi 1978matt, Thank you for supporting the recomendation of Dr Maras. Our patient coordinators providing face to face consultations with potential patients in a location that the Dr is not present give their own estimation based on the philosophy of the Dr and clinic and their vast experience. Further more all patient photos, donor density calculations, hairline designs and number of grafts estimated are approved by the Dr himself prior to the final agreement of the patient coordinator and the patient for his hair restoration plan. Any patient requesting direct consultation with the Dr after the initial contact with the patient coordinator a Skype live consultation with the Dr can be arranged. Regards Alex
  20. Hi Mickey85, I will prepare more patient results once back to the clinic on Monday morning. I will let you know about the punch he uses as well. Regards Alex
  21. Dr Maras and HDC attract patients from many countries like Greece, UK, italy Spain, Romania,Israel and Middle East. For each country/language we have a patient coordinator/educator in order to have the initial contact with the patient. All of our patient coordinators are either hair transplant technicians or they have undergone a hair transplant themselves. For example George mentioned in this thread, has undergone a hair transplant himself and therefore can understand much better the psychology of a hair transplant patient. I have had a hair transplant myself and i had already presented my case in this forum. It is humanly impossible for one doctor to be in contact initially with all these potential patients from so many different countries and different languages if in the meantime must perform and supervise on a daily basis the actual procedures. However we welcome any patient who wants to come to our clinic in Cyprus to have a direct consultation with the doctor. For some patients HDC can cover the traveling expenses and accommodation to come to our clinic for a consultation with Dr Maras. Regards Alex
  22. Hi, I will be checking his file first thing on Monday morning and provide an update. Regards Alex
  23. Hi Johnydrama, Sorry for the delay at the post as i had to speak to the patient first. Eventhough he could see the positive reaction to finasteride he was adament to get a second HT at the crown as he was already enjoying the results of his first at the frontal third. He was and is aware that finasteride could not fully restore his crown which was he main goal. Regards Alex
  24. Hello everybody, Below you can see the progress of a 1203 graft FUE procedure performed by Dr.Maras who is the medical director of HDC hair transplant clinic and was supported by the rest of HDC's medical team.
