  2. Dear Sultsay, If a Strip scar is visible the best way to make it as less visible as possible is to place FUE grafts on the scar. If you mean after going ahead with scar repair surgery with FUE grafts on the scar then within the first 2-3 weeks the hair on the scar implanted will fall and begin to regrow in 3 months as usual. The next link will take you to a scar repair procedure done with HDC in order to observe. SCAR REPAIR If you have a scar problem you can post your photos in order to provide you with our opinion or you can request an online assessment through this forum at the next link. 3. Hi Everybody, Thanks for the positive comments. Below are another two photos of this case showing this result from top view and with the hairs parted with a comb. Regards Alex
  4. Hello Everybody, Through the many years of our presence in the Hair transplant industry one of the main concerns of potential patients, is their cosmetic look immediately post op and the few days after that. Patients what to plan their surgery at a time that can take a few days off work. Despite the fact that healing time can differ from person to person, on average one week from start to finish should be enough. At HDC we request our patients to stay with us for 3-4 days after the procedure finishes, providing them with our custom made post op care. By providing that, we have noticed that the healing accelerates and have concluded that up to 7 days post op, patients return to an acceptable cosmetic look. For a detailed up to the 7th day post op, day by day illustration with photos, CLICK HERE Regards Alex
  5. Hello Everybody, This patient had a previous strip and FUE procedure and he came to HDC for re enforcing his hair on top and cover the crown. Due to his limited donor from previous surgeries HDC Hair Clinic decided to use some of his beard hair so as to cover both areas. The surgery took place as described below? 3 days surgery 1st day FUE scalp 1423 2nd day 527 scalp FUE and Beard 610 3rd day 520 Scalp FUE and Beard 553 Total of FUE Scalp 2470 Total of Beard 1163 Total no of Grafts 3633 You can see his result 18 months after the surgery. 6. Hi Everybody, This is an FUE case for 3212 grafts performed by HDC’s medical team on this Norwood class 4 patient. The surgery was performed over two consecutive days and below you can see the before immediately after and progress at 9 months post op. The patient who is 37 years old wanted to restore his hairline and fill up the frontal area after an unsuccessful small Strip procedure (8cm long) he did elsewhere. At a one to one consultation an estimate of 3000-3400 grafts was provided for a natural and with very good density cosmetic result. The patient was using minoxidil 5% before the hair restoration and he still is. Regards Alex BEFORE IMMEDIATELY AFTER 9 MONTH POST OP
  7. Dear Harryforreal, the grafts from the sideburns is to maximize the available grafts and were placed in between scalp hair on the top area of the head. The patient is 39 years old. Sometimes the transplanted hair may look darker as they are transferred from the stronger donor zone. Also many times the existing hair in the recipient area are thinner and more vulnerable to the sun so they lose color easily. This is what can explain the darker color after transplant. Sometimes it can depend on the lighting of the photos. Recreation of a natural hairline I achieved by two main variables. The hairline design must fit with the bone structure of the patient and be place in the correct position. This is more of aesthetic understanding of the procedure. The second variable is the placement angle of the grafts and that in the front only single folliculate units bust be placed and behind then two hair FU’s must be placed in a dense manner. In HDC we use about 500 – 600 singles and 400 - 500 doubles for a dense hairline of 1cm width. In the photo you can see a hairline with a density of 60/cmsq. Regards Alex
  8. Hello Everybody, This Norwood class 6 scale patient hadlow donor density with fine hair and under average hair per follicular unit. His aim was to cover his boldness and the only way to achieve this was to use productively each one of his extracted grafts. We also had to manage his donor correctly so that we avoid a depleted donor. After 3 HT sessions and 5545 Grafts extracted and placed, we manage to come up to his expectation in both recipient and donor . The first two procedures were presented in the link below: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/170631-dr-maras-hdc-hair-transplant-clinic-2200-fue-grafts-1800-fue-grafts-post-op.html The Third Hair Transplant with HDC is presented here. The goal initially was to provide reasonable density over two procedures beginning from the front and working backwards. After achieving the initial goal and because of the correct donor management the patient requested to enhance the density. We had preceded with the extraction of 1296 FUE grafts and used some of them to increase the existing density as per the patient’s request and the rest to extent the coverage towards the crown. Below we present clear photos 16 months after the final procedure which you can clearly see that the donor area was well protected over 3 procedures to avoid depletion. Depleted donors is a phenomenon we come across often lately, whereas patients had been persuaded to go ahead for large sessions of 4000-5000 grafts in one visit and then seek help to improve the cosmetic look of their donors. At a lot of these cases the cosmetic result is average or below and we advise to be avoided. 11. Hello Everybody, Below is the case of a 42 year old patient living in Los Angeles at the Norwood 2 Scale. The aim was to frame his face with a natural and dense hairline in order to match the density of his existing hair. At an online consultation with photos send by patient and communication by phone and Skype, an estimate of 2000 grafts was provided with the final number placed being 1800 grafts. The patient visited HDC Clinic in Cyprus again in January 2016 accompanying his friend who came for HT too, after he saw his result. This Friend had an unsuccessful HT in the U.S. before and now regained trust in HT surgery again. We present below clear photos of before, immediately after and 9 month progress. 12. Hi Everybody, This patient was so happy about the result of his previous HT’s and his surgery experience once more that he offered a cake to HDC team with a card expressing his feelings (see photos below). The HDC team was very touched and happy. This is exactly what gives us the drive for becoming better every day!! Regards Alex
  13. Hi Everybody, The patient after two successful hair restorations at HDC, first to create his hairline and fill up the frontal third and second to restore his crown gained the confidence to request HDC if we could lower his hairline and create temporal peaks that he wished to have. Due to the correct donor management at the two previous procedures that 4253 grafts were harvested, HDC agreed and went ahead to extract another 2426 grafts in order to achieve the patient goals. A link to his story as documented with extensive detail by himself, starting from before his initial procedure at another English speaking forum, can be provided with a PM request. The case below is presented with clear photos of before, immediately after, 3.5 Months post op and until the final result of 1 year after, with dry and wet with gel, hair. 18. Hello Everybody, Below I present the result of two FUE procedures with total of 5116 grafts. Additionally I present the 3rd FUE procedure for total 2470 grafts (1661 scalp and 809 Beard) in order to complete his goals as per the initial consultation. I need to say that in a previous post was presented the result of the 1st HT with the post op of the 2nd HT in the link below: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/178262-hdc-clinic-norwood-6-2637-fue-progress-2479-fue-grafts-post-op.html So this post shows the result of the link above as promised. This is an interesting and challenging case because the patient had under average donor density with extensive hair loss. I will be updating the progress of his third procedure in due time. 20. Hello Everybody, Below is the case of a 37 year old patient at the Norwood scale 3. The aim was to frame his face with a natural hairline and fill up the thinning area at the frontal third. At a face to face consultation in Tel Aviv, an estimate of 3000 grafts was provided with the final number placed being 2905 grafts. This patient requested that we not extract hairs from what Jewish Law considers the "payot" or commonly referred to as side lock region. Our technicians were able to follow his provided visual instructions http://kosherhaircut.com/fullsize.html . After the procedure this patient felt a little bit down and was asked what we could do to accommodate him best. HDC made arrangements for his rabbi to come in from Jerusalem and stay with him over the sabbath. The patient left very happy and felt taken care of. He has sent subsequent progress images up until 6.5 months. He is very happy with his results and is planning the next procedure to restore his mid scalp and crown area. I will be able to provide clearer photos of his result during my next visit to Tel Aviv on the 11thy September 2015 Regards Alex BEFORE BEFORE AT CONSULTATION IMMEDIATELY AFTER 8 DAYS POST OP 6.5 MONTH POST OP
  21. Hi, Just to put things in perspective, Cyprus is a separate European state Called “ The Republic of Cyprus” which is one country as recognized from the European union and the international community. The Turkish occupied area is just not controlled from the official state. But anyway this is politics that may not concern the people in this forum. However Cyprus is part of the Hellenic Nation and usually for Greek patients that want to have a hair transplant in a good clinic they come to HDC in Cyprus. For the sake of information, HDC Hair Clinic has more patients from Greece than from Cyprus itself. It takes about 70 min flight to come from Eleftherios Venizelos airport to Larnaca airport. HDC provides free airport transfers and free accommodation to patients coming from Greece and abroad in general. Regards Alex
  22. Hello everybody, Below you can see the progress of a 3475 graft FUE procedure performed seven months ago. The plan set from the online consultation was to extract the maximum that his donor could provide safely and without depleting the donor, in order to restore the hairline and then work as further back on top as possible. With the second procedure scheduled in a few months he will be able to achieve his goal and fill up the rest of the scalp. This good management of his donor gives him the option of a third FUE procedure in the future if he so wishes. This is another great example of HDC managing correctly and safely the donor area. This strategy gives the opportunity to high lever Norwood scale patients to achieve adequate coverage and achieve their goals. Regards Alex BEFORE IMMEDIATELY AFTER 7 MONTHS POST OP
  23. Very interesting i didn't know the area below the strip/strips could be affected it does make sense if im honest. So does this happen with every patient with one/two or multiple strip scares. Because some doctors say get strip until your striped out and then go for fue But if the scar affects the surrounding area for fue. Most doctors don't tell you about that. Hello Wwiizzkkiidd24, There are three main reasons why Strip and especially multiple strips affect the available safe zone donor area for FUE. The minimum effect that one strip can have is summarised in the following 3 points: Firstly when a Strip is removed the two ends of the skin are pulled together and stitched. If let’s say hypothetically the Strip dimensions was 1.5cm X 30cm then already the actual donor surface for FUE harvesting is reduced by that 45cm. Secondly, the skin stretches in that particular area and will have approximately 20% less density than prior to the initial Strip, therefore the available FUE from that area is reduced. The third reason has to do with the pulling and stitching the wound. The skin is pulled together and stitched which in many times results to the change of the direction of the hair follicles under the skin especially near the sutured area and below the scar. This is something that can affect FUE extraction as it can result to higher transection rate in the area that the direction had changed. Overall Strip and especially multiple Strips affect negatively the FUE safe zone area and reduce the number of grafts that could be harvested. Regards Alex
  24. Hello Everybody, In my previous post on this link, http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/179656-hdc-hair-clinic-%96-7608-fue-grafts-3-sessions.html there is a discussion about strip scars. For those that will see the above post, can see how easily strip scars can be covered by FUE grafts rather by applying a second strip to remove the scar of the first one. Below I present a case where the patient requested his Strip scar to be disguised with the placing of FUE grafts. The final number of grafts placed was 503. His initial Strip was not performed by HDC Regards Alex BEFORE IMMEDIATELY AFTER 14 MONTH POST OP
  25. Hello Hairjo, To Begin with, I would like to point out that I believe bad hair transplants are offered by doctors and clinics that consistently cannot produce state of the art hair transplant results. This is the main reason why this patient’s hair grow so poorly from his initial Strip procedure. When you consult a patient with a poor Strip result, you never know what could be below the Strip scar. By harvesting then a second Strip, you run the risk of ending up with the same or even worst scar. Additionally we have seen patients with multiple Strips that their FUE donor was affected as well and especially below the Strip scars, due to excessive tension of the skin when closing the wound (Strip). Below you can see an example of affected FUE donor after multiple Strips. Ultimately this patient has achieved full coverage over three FUE sessions and it only now remains, a small session to disguise his Strip scar either with scalp FUE or BHFUE if he so wishes. Regards Alex
