  1. Hello, Yes you are right with regards to checking in the mirror. I have the same problem I'm very impatient but at the same time I know 4 month mark is the pivotal time. I'm sure you had a great experience with Dr Rahal - I cant praise enough how good his staff were to name a few Fiona, April and also Dua. And ofcourse Mike is again one of nicest people one will come across. Larissa has been great in answering any queries I've had and last but not the least Dr Rahal, he's a star. I just hope the result lives up to my experience. At what point did you notice a significant difference? Im nearly 3 months now and notice stubble like hair in the recipient area, I guess at the moment I can feel about 40-50 small hair popping out.
  2. Thanks for your response gillenator. I already have a thread going under the Surgeon Reviews sections, if you want to follow I just can't wait for the four month mark - these two months have been tough as one keeps thinking that will the grafts grow or not/how many have didn't survive etc,
  3. Hello all, I had a HT with Dr Rahal in June and i'm 9 weeks post op - I've noticed in the past two weeks tiny hair popping out of the recipient area a bit like beard stubble, much thicker than the surrounding hair in the recipient area as well. Is this too early to think that this may be the new grafts or will it be the native hair growing? I must mention that my native hair have grown a considerable length since the ht but these tiny hair are much smaller. So not sure if this is the uneven native hair or new grafts. I notice about 60-80 of these new hair growing when I touch the recipient area. I had 3581 grafts implanted by dr Rahal. Also, at what point does one know that most if not all of the implanted grafts have actually grown after a HT? Let me know what your thoughts are please. Thanks
  4. Nothing much to report at the moment as expected - can't wait till the 4 month mark.
  5. You are both right and I agree. Having said that I just wanted give an update to the people who have viewed my post and get some feedback on the healing.
  6. Had a haircut on 2nd of Aug, nearly 7 weeks post op. Not much has changed - waiting on the native hair to grow as I know the transplanted ones have some way to go before showing up. Pls let me know your thoughts - very keen to hear from you about your thoughts on my pics/update. Donor area pic taken with flash. Thanks
  7. Indeed i am in that phase, just concerned about the native hair at the moment. The guesthouse was great, met some great ppl. I'd say the only downside was there were no places to eat closeby/walking distance.
  8. To be honest I went for FUT because I have always seen stronger/denser results for FUT as compared to FUE. This of course is just my opinion. With regards to the donor, it seems that I have had some shock loss in the donor area and the picture for day 33 reflects that I think. Here is a preop pic of the donor. Thoughts?
  9. The healing has gone well indeed. The only concern for me is the native hair are not growing as much I'd like. I am on rogaine as well as propecia (limted to twice to three times a week due to sides). With regards to going to Canada, I'm sure majority of the people would agree here that Dr Rahal is one of the best if not the best FUT surgeons in the world, so there was no hesitation in going to Canada.
  10. Hello all, I have been looking into get a hair transplant for over 4 years now and finally decided to go with Dr Rahal and had my procedure about 5 weeks ago in Ottawa after flying in from UK. Apologies, my write-up is not detailed but I'm attaching my pics below (pre-op, post op, day 6 and day 33). Would like your thoughts pls and also I will be updating this thread with new pics every month. Some pics on the donor area also included (day 33). Cheers
  11. Hey Rsilva 5, Your hair is looking great buddy. Any chance of you posting your preop pic? I had a procedure with Dr Rahal three weeks ago and you are right can't speak highly enough of him and his team, they are all great. I had 3581 grafts implanted via FUT - will post pics in the near future.
  12. I guess my case is different as I am going for fut but anyway your help will be great
  13. Thanks a lot buddy. Just sent u a PM
  14. Any Rahal patients out there? Pls get in touch
  15. Hello all, I've got a procedure with Dr Rahal next month and wanted to call on any Rahal patients who could get in touch with/PM me so that I can ask them questions about their procedure/experience. Will appreciate it greatly if you guys could get in touch with me with regards to your experience. I have tried sending some of the patients msgs but I get a message back saying the email address do not exist. So any Rahal patients out there please get in touch. Thanks Xabi
  16. Do you know how many patients he looks to operate on per day or how many patients are having a procedure at the same time at his clinic? How would you compare Dr Rahal to Hasson & Wong? Cheers
  17. Hello mav23100gunther, I have read David's link previously but I was wondering if there were any questions that I need to ask which are not in the list that David provided. I have 33 days off from work after which I get back - the point is some peeps are saying that this will be enough time for me to recover and there should be no signs of surgery (provided I use toppik) and some peeps are saying this may not be enough time. Another that has recently got me concerned is some of the negative comments/reviews I have read about Dr Rahal's results recently, to name a few 404hairnotfound (forum name) and the other guy is sharkman - who's post has been locked as he didn't post any evidence I belive. However, I don't know what was the outcome of that. The point is having these negative reviews has got me worried about my procedure and ultimately the final outcome. I hope someone could allay those fears? I will defo start a thread for my procedure and will post results. I am not going for fue procedure and will be going for FUT - dont know what their FUE prices are.
  18. guys pls any advice would help on the questions I should ask Dr Rahal during the consult? any rahal patients out there - how much was the pain that you experienced during your procedure with him - bearing in mind it is FUT I am going for? How long did it take for you guys for the signs of surgery to disappear so that no one noticed? For those who didn't tell their colleagues/friends of their procedure? Thanks
  19. Anyone, any other questions one can think of pls that I should ask Dr Rahal during my consult pls?
  20. Thanks David. Any other questions that one can think of please? Many thanks
  21. thanks a lot again guys for all your input. Time is fast approaching and the nervousness is increasing by the day - more nerves than excitement. One thing I wanted to ask you guys is what set of questions should I ask in my consult prior to the procedure, I am due to meet Dr Rahal a day before the actual procedure so please if you could in the set of questions I should ask? Many thanks in advance.
  22. Thank you all for words encouragement. In terms of healing of the scar thats not a problem, as long as I can hide the scar and the recepient area has enough growth to hide the procedure - post 33 days. Your thoughts on that pls? @MusoInOz - i have tried to private message u but can't see the option on your profile. Pls help. @Robert Ha - same for u, I have tried to PM you but don't see the option. Another question I have for u all is, is there a lot of pain experienced during the procedure i.e removal of strip and stiches? Thanks
  23. hello all, This is my first post on this website. I have been following this website for a few years now and it is because of this website that I found Dr Rahal and decided to have a hair restoration surgery at his clinic. I have my surgery in the next few weeks before I fly out from London. At this point I must admit I am very nervous about the pain factor as it is a FUT procedure and would welcome any experiences and thoughts from you all out there, especially Dr Rahal patients. Another point of concern for me is people at work noticing the surgery, I have got about 33 days from the point I have the procedure with Dr Rahal and the day I return to work. The thought of the people at work noticing my procedure is freaking me out. Do you guys think 33 days enough to get to a point where I would be able to conceal the procedure (taking into account I could use Toppik)? Overall, I am quite nervous and will welcome any thoughts from you guys to help ease the nerves. Many thanks in advance Xabi
  24. Its really disappointing for me that im suffering with this hair loss and want to get it rectified to an extent by getting a transplant and i am just so confused if I should or shouldnt have a procedure. The state of my hair depresses me so much and not knowing what is the right thing to do is adding to it
  25. Hello all, Thank you for all the opinions. I have tried Finasteride previously and had extremely bad side effects. Therefore, I have left it all together. dr rahal's clinic was of the same opinion that if I am getting sides, I should stay away. I've had further discussions with dr rahal's clinic and they agreed to do the transplant so in essence it sounds like maybe I'm being to negative about me having a bad result. His clinic also suggested I use saw palmetto which I have started now. As far as dr doganay is concerned his clinic have advised that with their technique (choi implanter) i will be fine and not experience extensive shock loss. Let me know you opinions pls. Many thanks
