  1. What a thatch that is! Wow.... looks awesome Greatjob, that's some serious density!! I'm so pleased for you.

And so pleased to see this update, my recipient looks very similar to yours at each stage so far, very little scabbing at week 1, very similar to your week 2 and again at one month. I was worrying a little that most Rahal patients I'd seen have quite a bit of scabbing and I didnt get much at all (as odd as that sounds as something to be worried about! :) )... I know we all heal differently etc, I guess it's just reassuring to see similarities with success stories especially in the early stages whilst your waiting for things to happen. Anyways looking great mate!

As an aside did you ever use any concealers in the early months? I go back to work in 2 weeks, exactly 2 months post op and gonna have to do something to camouflage the gaps....

  2. ha...

    You bought strip.

You are sold the line that FUE is unreliable and that strip scars should be 'pencil thin' if done by 'good hands'.

Finally, after all the emotional investment, you are told at a minute to midnight, that there are no guarantees with strip scars, because everyone is unique. Then the onus is on you. You lifted weights? You moved your neck in your sleep too much? You swam? It's all your problem..

I am being boorish and blunt, OK, and strip surgeries have given me some really robust growth over the journey, but as for revisions, it is a big gamble. I wouldn't write them off period, but start planning for a contingency and don't let them stretch the length of your scar too much.

No he didn't. He hasn't even had a transplant and is just asking a hypothetical question as he states.

  3. Raphael great to see you chiming in and to hear how happy you are with things. I can totally understand the mindset to just want to step away from the whole hair loss/ talk thing after the weariness of researching, planning a HT, the surgery, the downtime and the fretting and the waiting afterwards. Look forward to the day when I can do the same! ha

Anyway in light of the above look forward to seeing your next update just whenever you get around to it. All the best.

  4. Mike great to see your updates buddy, it's looking superb! What a transformation from your pre op and still more maturing to come! I understand what you're saying about the cost temptations abroad but I would think long and hard about it. No doubt you will but for what it's worth Rahal has done wonders for you already. You've got a great head of hair now at just 7 months. Great position to be in........ here's hoping he's done the same for me! :) I'm sure that crown will thicken out over the next 5 months. I hear you on the challenges of remaining patient tho!! :( ha

  5. There has been growth for sure. Your only at 4.5 months. Way too early to get worried. The next two months, the growth should really come in nice.

I agree there definitely appears to be growth happening and those pics aren't the best for comparison IMO. A few shots showing the whole hairline, top down etc will be much better at establishing what's going on. Besides things are only starting to happen at 4.5 months.

Are you on any meds/ supplements? If not it could take a little longer to come in.

  6. Superb result. One of the best I've seen. Congrats to Dr Lorenzo Mick.

As an aside though this FUE fanboy-ism is getting out of control. Does every good FUE result need to be cheered to the rafters and commented on as supporting the 'FUE debate' and a testimony to consigning the 'relic' that is FUT to the past?! Seriously. Aren't we all just guys trying to get our hair back in a way that best suits our own goals, circumstances?! It ignores the countless guys on here that have got exactly what they want with FUT (and then some in many cases).

I have no desire to get into this debate, I'm just saying it's getting a bit mundane guys.

  7. Here is the 3 month Post OP update:

I look now even more worse than before the HT :(. The scabs (or maybe dead skin) of the eczema is mostly away, but with the scabs also a lot of hair as every time a scab released there was hair in it (still not sure if these are complete grafts).

I still have problems with the eczema and next week is my next control date at the dermatologist. I still has the symptoms itching and tenseness of the skin on top and sometimes also a "hot feeling" of inflamation next day after spraying cortison.

Next week I will also cut my sides and donor, it looks not good/strange having so much hair on sides and donor and on top very less hair.

Hope everything will turn out well. Here are the pictures.

Martin, you're right on track. Whilst it's entirely normal to look worse at 3 months than you did pre op.... YOU really don't, I'm amazed you think you do. Comparing your pics youre def in a better place but more importantly massive improvements since your last post, things are starting to happen now.

Sorry to trott out the usual cliches but 'patience'. I know it's hard... I'm only at 3 weeks post op myself.

  8. That looks fantastic for just 6 months. Believe me, the density will just about double by 12 months. I remember at 6 months saying "Yeah, I am happy even if it stops here" but inside, I wanted more density....and it came by 12 months. Your 6 month pics remind me of mine at 6 months.

Your crown looks great. How big was it and how many grafts were placed there?

Congrats my friend, looking good!!!! Don't let the hair greed creep in (at least not for another couple of years :)). Enjoy it!!

Mike I couldn't agree more with Can't (weird sentence to write! ha).... I don't have the personal experience of having been to Rahal before/ grown out result I mean but, and I know you know this as well as anyone, 6 months is waaayy to early to be thinking about another procedure. Good to hear that you're not really and it's just excited impatience :D but I reckon at 12 months it's gonna be an incredible transformation!

I mean it already is.... you look sooo different, your hairline is awesome it totally frames your face. To any but the most critical observers (i.e. yourself and guys on a HT forum evaluating your growth) you look like you've got pretty much a full head of hair again. Congrats mate. Stoked for you. As Can't said, for now just enjoy it :)

  9. Best of luck Midwest. A really personal story that I enjoyed reading (your other thread as well). Dr Konior seems like a real gentleman and it must be great comfort to be going back to a guy that has already produced the goods for you and is held in such high esteem. Good luck on the day, look forward to the updates!
