  2. im interested to read of anyones experience with transplanting into the crown too, im hitting my crown at xmas and was thinking of hitting the left and right sides with more density and sacrificing the middle part, i hate seeing my bald crown from the sides, its not a good look in my opinion. I still envisage having to use nanogen on the crown to bulk up the area , not sure how many grafts i have left. 'cant decide' 3000 odd grafts should be plenty to sort out yours, your lucky to have so many available for your next procedure, good luck with it mate, i will be very interested to follow your case...

  3. Hi Mate

Its all normal, have a look at this pic of my spots 3 months post op, i was arsing around pricking these and drawing all sorts of crap out but in the end i just kept dabbing the area with a hot towel, probs 2 or 3 times a day and they eventually went away, i was worried too but you'll forget ya even had these as time passes by, hang on in there mate :D

  4. Hi guys, here I am at almost 6 months post op, attached some pics in different lighting. I feel ive come along way but its amazing how sunlight and natural lighting can throw up such differences in density, none of the pics were taken with a flash, some with room lighting and others with bright sunlight shining through into the room! What do you guys think?

  5. I think you're in line for a monster result mate. I think that even by July you'll have substantial growth, so it's perfect timing re the summer months (if there are even summer months anymore :)).

Out of interest, what has the reaction been like from friends/family/colleagues? Have you told many by now? Or any at all?

Hi Johnny, apart from a couple of close family members noone else knows i got this done, also the weird thing is noone else has said anything to me, im sure people have noticed but ive got no comments at all. Im not too sure how i feel about that haha

  6. Hi Guys, 5 Month update: More improvements coming through now as the hairs start to mature, still thin in places but thats to be expected at only 5 months, ive attached a pic of where i was before the op and the change is considerable, included a wet pic too. The scar i have in the recipient area is filling in nicely, looking forward to whats in store over the summer months :D

  7. Hi

Did Feriduni do all the extractions himself?

    Thanks

This was FUT, the doctor took the strip, closed the wound and made the incisions in the recipient area. The techs dissected the strip under microscopes and the head nurses inserted my grafts, there must have been maybe 15 people in the surgery that day, a team effort, the doctor came in to check all was going well throughout the graft insertion and placed some in himself at the end by way of the stick and place method. I remember him saying that some of his head nurses were with him right from when he first practiced hair transplants with maybe 15-20 years experience each. I knew all this before my surgery and there were no surprises on the day, everything that you would expect from a top class clinic.

  8. Thank you all for your kind words.

It was tough getting through the first 3 months because I looked like a road accident. The help of others here and elsewhere helped me get through it.

    Modenese

mate your hair id looking like that girl in your profile pic, awesome!!! id still prefer the girl though, no offence haha :D

  9. 4 months update: man these things do take time, I have found the past month the toughest for some reason, i saw my hair under harsh lighting and freaked out on how thin it looked, then i came to my senses and thought, hold on, its only been 4 months and i have come a long way !! Im not switching on the mirror light in the bathroom ever again though!!

The hair is growing really thin and whispy as expected with a little tip at the ends, has anyone ever noticed this? it sort of looks like synged hair from an angle? The redness has improved on the left hairline, i get tingly sensations now and again in the recipient area which i think is new hairs sprouting through, the scar is healing well and is a non issue for me given that i like to keep the hair longer at the back, but as you can see from the pics, when you have got scars like me all over your head you tend not to care about getting another one from ear to ear!!

  10. Congrats Hairshopeing, wish you all the best for great growth in the months ahead

I can empathise with you regarding the travelling and the emotional aspect of hair restoration, the things we put ourselves through eh!! You researched well and found a great ht surgeon in Dr Feriduni and his team.

P.s. I too wasnt sure what to do with that pill in the waiting room beforehand , i think it was an Ibuprofen 600mg painkiller, the girl reminded me to take it before i went into surgery though!

  11. Thanks for the comments guys :D

I never realised the progress i made in 3 months till i took those pics yesterday and when Spex puts the before and after 3 months together like that im blown away by it

I had a shed probably 3/4 weeks after the procedure, nothing major i thought because i never lost my new hairline, some of the grafts just grew right off the bat. I was expecting the doldrum phase to be a lot tougher than it actually turned out.

I think a few things stood to my advantage, scalp laxity exercises which allowed the doctor to remove a good size strip, the grafts were implanted quickly so not out from my body for too long, 4 hours it took the girls to implant 4500 grafts, there was 3 angels working on me non stop for 4 hours :D, being on propecia 12 months before the procedure and being very fit, i trained a lot, gave up smoking and never drank for a year, a record for an irish man id imagine!!

Doctor Feriduni is a really nice guy and an excellent hair transplant surgeon but also the work done by his technicians was top class, not enough credit goes to these people in my opinion. Im allready looking forward to procedure 2 when i sort my crown out!! :P

  12. 3 month update: Very happy with my progress to date, the redness on the left side of my hairline is taking its time going away and i have pimples here all the time, pimples that come in all other areas go away quickly though. Still early days but im looking forward to the next few months :D

  13. I would go with Option 2

As a norwood 5 myself i wanted a denser frontal third for my first HT, i like to use concealer and that only works well on the crown area for me, for my second procedure i will concentrate on my crown, the black hole for grafts so i got to see what i have available when the time comes, i think the crown laterals are very important so id like to hit those with more grafts and leave the middle of the crown with less density but enough of a sprinkling of grafts so that concealer will attach better
