  1. So March 21st was my HT, 1693 to the crown (see my profile for before pics) and there has already been sigificant growth after 3 months, there also seems to be a bunch of little thin, clear hairs that hte camera doesnt really show, not sure if this is the start of new growth or what...cannot wait to see it when it starts to really fill in though! These next few months should be telling!
  2. Dr. Charles was a great choice...I'm only 2 months out from my procedure with him and already seeing growth....will most likely be going back in the future..
  3. As a general rule of thumb, never get cosmetic surgery by Ronald McDonald
  4. Forget Atlantis 2000 and go down the street and see Dr. Glenn Charles in Boca Raton, he performed mine and has has countless successes. He's also priced very competitively.
  5. those have to be 2 of the nastiest, grossest, dirtiest looking dudes I have ever seen
  6. I wish I had you to follow me in real life to help me from doing things wrong....
  7. hey, anagen, catagen, whatever, there's hair their where there wasn't before
  8. Google "stimulair" and discuss!
  9. I did about a year of research before taking the plunge. Strangely enough, his was the first office to reply to my emails about a year ago. I kept doing research and corresponding with other doctors/clinics and then came across this site, where his name kept showing up with good reviews.. I read more reviews online, most of them were good, but the bad ones were soooo bad and undetailed that I really questioned their validity. Also looked at a few other doctors in that area, and learned another doctor's competitive advertising "style" is putting horribly written bad reviews up about Dr. Charles and others. Dr. Charles has videos on youtube that I watched and patient interviews, along with interviews with him on this site. This site helped me immensely in making a decision. He's also a good looking guy, which matters because if the doctor looks like a goofy version of Ronald McDonald (*cough* Larry Shapiro) then he's not going to care about my looks..Price was alos a factor, for $3 a graft plus a travel allowance, you're really not going to get much better than that with a good, reputable surgeon. He also gives you a pamphlet with this site and others to start blogging about your experiences, so you know he stand behind his work.
  10. That pretty much mimics my experience there....very glad I chose Dr. Charles. If good results come from my crown, I'll be going back for more..
  11. I thought I remember you saying you were going to Dr. Charles in August foir a HT?? Getting another one?
  12. Understandable....but if you look, there are also new, thick hairs that were are much shorter than the transplanted hairs (must've already shed and started growing) there...I thought I wouldnt see these for at least another month or so...
  13. Some facts about me, based 100% on personal experience: The doctor prescribed pain pills for me, yet I never felt the need to take a single one of them...never even opened the bottle. Slept ok the first night, wadded up a pillow and slept with my head hanging off for a few nights and only woke up a few times, not out of pain, just needed to re-adjust. I'm 1 1/2 months out and already seeing growth. My scar is completely hidden by my hair. I really dont undertand why anyone would pay for a HT and then buzz themselves, the only way you can see the scar. My head felt "tight" for about a week, then felt normal, never really bothered me. The boredom during the procedure is the worst part. You're going to a reputable doctor from what I've seen here, shouldn't worry about anything.. have fun and stop being a wuss
  14. Had a HT to my crown on March 21...didn't shed quite as much as I thought I would, but I took a close up pic yesterday..and it looks like there are some random hairs growing already! Refer to my pics in my profile for reference, pretty sure there are transplanted hair growing there. If so, is this normal?
  15. It was a FUT with Dr. Glenn Charles, a coalition member and very active on these forums. The travel discount is 10% of the cost, up to $600. $3/graft x 1600 = 4800-480=4320+500(plane, hotel, car rental, food, etc. [priceline/expedia/coupons])=$4820. I'm only 1 month out and can't speak for results yet, but IMO the best deal from a reputable surgeon...not to mention he threw in a few extra grafts and lunch...
  16. and bald-reality, you might get more respect for your opinions around here if you didnt say things like "Like 99% of HT doctors, he is a fraud"...That means these doctors that many of us love are crooks and we're all idiots. Sorry about your pain, but just because one girl treats you like crap, doesn't mean they're all dirty skanks.
  17. Here's my question.....does it get EVERYWHERE like the Toppik does? Toppik does a great job for me as I keep my hair in a bit longer style, but my bathroom is covered in the crap after I get done using it..
  18. He's probably oblivious to the fact that his hairline looks ridiculous, and so is his super-hot wife..... If he catches you looking, tell him that you are jealous of his hairline, and you had to have a transplant for yours...then maybe he'll share his "secret" and yall can become best buds. One thing leads to another and you meet his wife, then find out that they are swingers. and getting caught looking at his hairline was the best thing that ever happened to you. Or something like that.
  19. So I've probably only shed about 40-50% of my transplanted hair...not worrying at this point, but wondering if this is normal or is a taste of things to come...the hair hasn't grown, but hopefully will. Is it required for a transplanted hair to fall out for a new hair to grown or will the existing hair start growing after it's dormant phase?
