  1. Conidering1, From what I see with your pics your hairloss isn't that bad.. I would get on propecia right away and see if it thickens up your hair.. I would not get a hair transplant at this point until you get on the meds for at least a year.. If you take the propecia and it works then a hair transplant later down the road would be best for you.. Stay on the rogaine! From what I been trough I would recommend getting FUE and see if you like the transpanted hair on your scalp and hairline so if you don't like it you won't have to live with a srtip scar on the back of your head.. Don't get your hairline lowered, you will pay for that later down the road.. You only have enough donor in the donor area. I would go gradual and not aggressive due to the fact that you have too much native hair up top.. A unexperienced transplant doc can make matters worse with damaging native hair. Formertrackstar
  2. Magnum, You can get white dots anywhere on your body including your recipient area from the sun.. I'm 34 years old and am getting more noticeable withe dots all over my body from the sun.. I would try to stay out of the sun as much as possible.. Wear plenty of sunscreen as well.. A hat would be great when not in the water.. Salt water shouldn't damage a hair transplant but there is always a possibility.. Nothing is guaranteed with hair.. Formertrackstar
  3. Blake FutureHTdoc, You are completely right about a bad hair transplant can cause physical and psychological damage.. Unfortunately in 2002 and 2004 I followed this forum and chose a recommended surgeon on this forum and got a BOTCHED hair transplant.. This Doctor is no longer on this forum due to the fact that he has done many others with very bad unnatural pluggy results, as well that where not true follicular units.. I believe he was quietly removed.. I could go on and on about how he ruined my life in many ways.. I was lied to, mislead, and very uneducated by this Doctor.. Their are many good surgeons out there that are doing great work.. But there are still many doctors out there still doing outdated techniques.. There are probably many on this site that are not up to date with current techniques.. Sure there are thousands of excellent cases prestented on this network, and there are thousands of unhappy patients out there as well from some of these doctors doing outdated techniques to this day. 4. Adam, My nieces do not know that I had a hair transplant and I don't plan on telling them.. They would never know I had a hair transplant at that young of an age just by looking at my hair without brushing/combing, feeling it.. She noticed the different texture and dryness that hair transplants have.. I have had 3 hair transplants myself as well.. BTW your native hair is very dense.. I probably have more transplanted hair on top of my head than you.. Make sure your on meds.. You don't want to loose your native hair around the transplanted hairs and further back in the midscalp and crown.. Then you may have to go into surgery number 4.. I was very young at the age of 24 when I had my first hair transplant and now am 34 and am chasing hair around like crazy! You can get away with spiking your hair at your age but if you get more hair loss in the future your different hairstyles like spiking maybe over.. Once my hairloss really triggered I was limited to hairstyles.. Formertrackstar
  5. I went over to my sisters house about 2 months ago to visit and have dinner.. My 2 nieces said, "Uncle come up stairs we have a surprise for you.". I didn't know what they where up too.. One of them is in 2nd grade and my other niece is in 4th grade. She said, "sit down in this chair." So I sat down in the chair. She brought over a hair brush and a water bottle, hair spray and scissors.. They where playing Hair dresser like little girls do.. Thinking one day they may be a hair stylist.. She started combing my hair in different directions and spraying my hair with water.. Right then I was terrified she was going to see my scarring on the back of my head from my donor area and my hairplugs that where camouflaged with follicular units.. She started massaging my head as though she was pretending to shampoo it.. She said Uncle, why is your hair so DRY and rough.. A 9 year old girl spotted out something that was unusual to feeling anything to her hair or any of her friends hair.. She then ran downstairs and told my sister and brother and law Uncles hair is really rough and dry... I had to say something like I have hairspray in my hair.. She felt the different texture and dryness that transplants have.. Not to mention when I shower twice a day I let the conditioner sit in my hair for a good amount of time..Good thing I got out of the chair before she could of found the scar.. How embarrassing.. She never felt anything like that with anyone elses hair that she played hair dresser with..
  6. To sum this up I just called the office and I asked the receptionist how much Dr. Carlos Wesley charges for a consult.. She said Dr Wesley charges $100.. Dr. Walter Unger charges $250 for a consult.. Dr. Robin Unger $200.. I don't know why they charged me $500 less than 2 years ago.. I asked the receptionist why I was charged $500.. She asked me for my name to look up my file.. She said did you have work done here.. I told her I had just a consultation and had my surgery with another Dr.. She said someone will have to get back to me about this.. I'm just dissapointed I was charged $500 for a 20 minute consultation.. How Davidz got a free Consultation from Dr. Wesley blows my mind away!
  7. I had my consult with them about 21 months ago..
  8. I would be patient.. Sometimes it does take longer.. Wait until the 11th month.. If nothing happens then I would be very worried..
  9. Yes that is normal.. I went to one of the worst Docs on the planet then had went to one of the most respected Docs in the world to get a repair.. Comparing the spikiness.. Both of their work feels spikey.. Feels like a porcupine when you rub it closely..
  10. Magnum, I have spiky hairs as well.. This is something that you'll have to deal with when having a hair transplant.. It kinda feels like a porcupine.. Once you get a hair transplant it is never the same.. 4 weeks post op to 10 years down the road it will always feel like that.. It will be something that you'll have to get adjusted too.. Just another thing that some clinics don't educated us on before having this procedure done.. Some will tell you on your first surgery in the middle of the surgery like "hair transplants aren't the same thing." Thanks for being detailed to you clinics that don't advise us about this spikiness things.. Kinda does suck..
  11. Michael, That is not true what you said, their are still clinics out there that are using outdated techniques.. Not all patients are getting natural and proven results, or guaranteed results.. Nothing is permanent with hair transplantation.. There is always a chance that you can loose transplanted hair as time goes on.. In 2002 and 2004 I went to a recommended surgeon on this forum that advertised and stated on this forum that he did Follicular Unit transplantation (Ultra Refined Transplantation). He did not Do FUT... In fact I was lied to mislead, uneducated, ect. I could go on and on about how they took advantage on me.. It was outdated, pluggy, unnatural, and caused alot frustration in my life.. They had so many complaints on this forum by other members that they where removed off the Hair Transplantation Network.. I highly doubt that every one of your patients brag about the results.. I am sure that there is alot of patients that are happy-but there are alot of unhappy ones as well. Right now my hair looks much better than it did before in the recipient area and I thank Dr. Ron Shapiro for that for his natural work.. But I still have those plugs on top of my head from the previous doctor that will see every day of my life.. As well as a wide scar on the back of my head..They are camouflaged-but they are noticeable by me and a keen eye! Also a hair transplant is never the same thing..
  12. A hair transplant won't always bring your confidence back! It can do the totally opposite and bring you down if it isn't the way you wished for... Have you tried shaving your head or buzz cutting? That is the popular look right now and chics do dig it.. Girls really don't care about hair.. I have a alot of buddies that are completly bald and have hot wives and girlfriends.. They don't care! They want a guy that loves them and has a good personality.. Hair will rip your mind away.. Don't let it.
  13. Hair transplants are very expensive... Do you have at least $10,000 saved up?
  14. Sorry about the mispelling.. I am on my I phone.. If you have any questions pm me... I am hear to help you out man..
  15. Jesse, To be safe I would stay away from Bosley.. I've heard too many bad stories about them.. Do alot of research and talk to a number of happy patients that had work done with a recommended surgeon on this forum.. You want to talk to people in person and look at their hair transplant.. Make sure that you are 100% educated before having this procedure done.. Once you have a transplant there is no turning back.. Have you tried meds yet?
  16. I will have to look at your pics... I am happy that you got the results that you wanted.
  17. Thanks.. I guess I got ripped off. Thanks Dr Wesley and Unger
  18. Did he charge you $500 for a consultation?! I drove a few hours to have a consultaion with Dr. Walter Unger and Dr. Wesley and they charged $500 for a 20 minute consultaion at their Park Avenue office in New York.. I thought there prices where out of line..
  19. I was with this woman and she loved running her fingers through my hair while we where having sex.. It bugged the crap out of me so bad that I was paranoid that she was going to feel the scar as well as the recepient area.. I was afraid that she would notice the spikiness of the transplanted hairs.. I simply would pull her hands off my head and hair and put them elsewhere.. lol.
  20. Spanker, There is a guy that goes to my gym and I think he has the same condition that you have.. He shaves down to a number 2.. The back of his head is very wrinkly and it almost looks like someone tried to tattoo it-but I guess that is just the way it is with the condition.. It definitely catches my eye whenever I see him at the gym.. I will def chuck out your "spanker sets date" shave pics..
  21. There is a possibility someone could spot that I had work done on my hairline with a keen eye.. If someone where looking at the back of my head it would be a given that I had a hair transplant with the width of the scar and the fact that it goes from ear to ear.. Even with my hair a little longer there is a line that you can see on the back of my head.... When the hair is cut the day of the barber of course that is a dead given.. I like my hair cut a certain way. Even when my barber has to be careful as anything to not expose that scar.. It still is exposed.. BTW-When is your surgery date with Dr. Konier? I think that you are in very good hands.. I wish you the best of luck Spanker.. Especially for the the amount of time that you have been on here.. Have you tried shaving your head Spanker? If so how long?
