  1. 15 minutes ago, splitting hairs said:

Looking good pal!! Glad you are happy with your situation and have been able to move on with your life!! Congrats!!

    Thanks buddy.

its Strange that even though i dropped finasteride cold turkey 1,5 years ago i have not had hairloss.

i did expect my hairloss to start again a little, but so far it has not happened

  2. Just wanted to post an Update to my situation.

its been around 7 years since my last reply.

My hair situation is actually pretty good. And one thing that is really suprising to me, is that i quit finasteride about 1,5 years ago after i had been on it for about 10 years.

Also i dont use toppik or Any concealer at all. Last time i used concealer was about 2-3 years ago.

i Also dont use shampoo. I wash my hair with medium temperature water and ever second week or something like that i use either conditioner or diluted vinnagar.

here is a picture i just took today. (Sorry for the depressed look, i have 40degree of fever😖)

  3. I had a FUE (1500 grafts from (turkey bad choice, I know )) on only the temples when I was 21, The results was way too sparse, and lacking of density to blend in with the native hairs.

I didn't like my hairline at the time, I attached a picture for reference.

    [now I basically loath it :( ]

So at this point I'm 24, and this is the hairline/crown area. I can't afford another HT atm, but do you think it's safe to get another procedure to fill in the area at some point?

Or maybe should I shave down the HT area?

age 20 for reference before HT,

My best advise for you is to wait and dont do anything as long as your hair is like it is now.

If you start loosing hair Then you Can reevaluate your situation.

A HT Will not get close to the density that your hair is.

If you hair was thin, Then a HT might be an option for you, but you hair is very thick and dense, so another HT Will probly end up a dissapointment for you.

Regarding your Crown i would say, FORGET it!!!

It doesnt even look like you lost anything at the Crown, it just looks like a whirl.

If you start to transplant in the Crown, the chance of shockloss is Way to Big

I had 2 transplant myself, so i know what im talking about.

  4. I had a FUE procedure in Jan 2017 with Dr Rafik of hair growth centre in london.

I am unsure about the cosmetic outcome, I dont think it is worth what I paid for. However he along with his team (aggressive team) are insisting that the results are the best I could have expected.

The procedure went OK, and i didnt have any problems after the procedure (except it was painful throughout and I had itchy scalp for 2months). I was told by dr rafik that its normal.

    I paid ?7500 for a 4000 graft procedure

    No Prp treatments

I use only rogaine for men for 12months

    I exercise regularly and am a vegetarian (i take mulit-vitamins from vita-biotics).

I have been refused any corrective surgery by them. In my opinion I have far less hair than the 4000 grafts i had paid for. What do people think?

Also what do you think about my donor area? It seems quite sparse now. Do I have enough hair left for another procedure? Will really appreciate some guidance please.

It impossible for us to evaluate your situation if you dont post pictures before the hairtransplant.

Also it would be easier if you Also post pictures Right after the hairtransplant

But i Will say it looks really thin int the reciepted area.

But if you were slick Bald in that area before the transplant Then i Think you could not expect a dense result.

  5. Johnny,

Baby shampoo is not sulfate free. You need to get a shampoo that is free of any kind of sulphate like sodium Laureth sulphate, sodium lauryl sulphate, ammonium lauryl sulphate, sodium myreth sulphate etc.

    Just look at the ingredients.

I found that after switching to sulphate free, my hair was less oily in about two weeks or so, even with washing daily. I could even skip days without my hair looking greasy.

Washing daily is considered normal, as long as you use a sulphate free shampoo, it's not overwashing.

Ok i Will try to find one and se if it helps

    Thanks :)

  6. Johnny,

I also have very oily skin. I have noticed that switching to a sulphate free shampoo has helped to reduce the oiliness.

Also, as a face wash try and avoid sulphates in face washes etc.

    Hey split

For the last 1-2 weeks ive been using baby shampoo.

    Isn’t that free of sulfate?

It doesnt seems to make Any difference regarding the oil Production :(

    Maybe it needs more time?

Could it be that my scalp is dried out because of overwashing, wich makes my skin producing more oil?

i really Think that the oilyness is affecting and contributing to further hairloss.

wish i just knew the Reason.

i didnt have This problem a few years back.

When i Think about it, i am allmost certain it started after i went Down the hairtransplant route

  7. Apriciate your responses.

the thing is, the oilyness is mainly in the reciepted area.

So if the hairtransplants isn’t the Reason, Then why is it mainly in these areas that recieved grafts?

I Will try to look into these supplement suggested.

But does Any actually have the same problem as me and managed to find a solution?

  8. Aprox. 4-5 hours after i wash my hair and scalp, my forehead near the hairline and my scalp near the hairline starts to get oily.

After about 10-12 hours its really oily.

If i run my middle finger across my forehead near the hairline it looks like i just dropped my finger in a bottle off oil.

    -anybody knows why that is?

I have had 2 hairtransplants and both of Them mostly around the hairline.

i Also wash my hair/scalp ALOT mainly because of This problem?

If i dont wash it alot Then it looks really oily and nasty.

-could overwashing be the cause? Or is that just a myth?

I tried nizoral 2% recently but it doesnt seems to do anything.

I Also tried to massage oil on scalp and Also cream but doesnt seems to do anything either.

Tried washing with cold water, doesnt seems to do anything either.

    Anybody with same problem?

I would give my left nut if someone could help me fix This problem :)

  9. Hi Johnny,

I'm also on an anti depressant for anxiety. I'm on Sertraline. Yes it does help a lot.

It won't completely take your symptoms away but it will give you your life back and you will start to enjoy things again.

I would suggest speaking with your doctor to discuss your options. It takes 6-8 weeks to really work and you may have to try a few different ones before you find one that's good for you.

It's really no big deal being on them as a lot more people than you would imagine actually take anti depressants.

    Hey split.

May i ask why you have anxiety?

    Is it because of hairloss?

The thing i dont understand is, how Can taking a pill make me Think less about my hairloss?

Often i look in the mirror and my stomach starts to hurt because im sad about my hair.

I dont get, how a pill Can change that?

Im going to a phsyacoligist and has been for a long time.

I just dont Think it helps really.

Isn’t anti depressive pills known to cause hairloss?

  10. Hi everybody :-)

I have gotten 4 Hairtransplants and i really thinking about getting my 5th on the crown, but i need you advice if my "back hair" can handle the 5th transplantation.

have gotten around 12000 hairs transplantet.

    see attached images :-)

What do you guys think should i go for the 5th ? i am lucky to have very thick hair in the back :-)

    -Kasper

I Think you could go for the 5th without to much risk

Your donor looks like it could take another go.

May i ask where you had your 4 hairtransplants? Anyone of Them done in Denmark?

do you have Any pictures before all the hairtransplant or in between the hairtransplants that you Can show us so we Can see how the evolution is/was

I noted that you are from Denmark

    I am Also from Denmark

And i had 2 hairtransplant myself

    1 in turkey

    1 in spain

Im not fully happy so im thinking about 1 more ht myself

  11. Let me preface this story by saying none of this should reflect badly on the Doctor involved - in fact he showed outstanding ethics for cancelling the procedure. (I won't name him right now, but he isn't one of the names frequently mentioned on this board), but rather, this is simply a story about how a series of unfortunate events lead to my procedure being cancelled right before it was to begin (head shaved, hairline drawn on, etc.) In time I might be able to laugh at this, but as of today it's just very frustrating.

The procedure was to be 1,600 FUs, harvested via FUE and implanted in the hairline - mostly in temporal recessions and strengthening the frontal forelock. I arrive at 7AM and we begin the process, draw on the hairline, go over the plan, shave the back and sides of my head - all is going perfectly.

I sit down next to the operating chair for the last standard check before beginning the procedure - blood pressure. I typically run a bit high, but nothing to be concerned about or warranting medication. Especially in a situation like this I would expect it to be pretty high because I was nervous.

The first reading comes back high, but not outrageously high. We attribute it to nerves and I relax for a few minutes and take it again - it's higher now. Starting to get concerned because they gave me 10mg of Valium, and Clonidine (a med specifically for lowering BP). So it's unusual that my BP is climbing, not falling. We wait a bit longer, perhaps it is still just nerves and the medications need a little more time to kick in.

We start numbing various points on my scalp, not too painful but I feel like I still have a lot of sensation in the injected areas. From my doctors reaction it doesn't seem typical for me to have this much sensation after being numbed, and especially seems strange that I'm fully awake and alert after being given Valium and Clonidine.

We check my BP again, it's higher still, very high: 180/120.

In my life I've never had low blood pressure, it was always a bit high, but 180/120 is near-emergency levels so there must be something going on here beyond just nerves. If not for the Valium and Clonidine it would no doubt be even higher than that.

Putting my safety first, the doctor decides we should not go forward with the FUE. I'm of course frustrated and disappointed but I completely understand and agree. He advises me to see my doctor right away to determine the cause of the high BP, possibly begin treatment, and when it's under control we can go ahead with the FUE. He gives me a full refund.

I see my Dr. the next day, get a full physical, blood tests, urine, etc. BP taken in the office is high, but not emergency level high, ranged between 140 - 150 (still not great I know).

Now here is the (kinda) funny part:

My girlfriend woke me up this morning semi-panicked - "Did you take my Prednisone?" Prednisone is a steroid, a clinic prescribed her 10 pills recently for something unrelated, and it was then determined she didn't need them. The bottle they came in, along with the size, shape, and color of the pill is almost identical to a pill i DO take daily - Wellbutrin (standard anti-depressant). So I had been accidentally taking Prednisone instead of Wellbutrin for the last 10 days, including the morning of my planned FUE procedure. So not only was I feeling the effects of a potent steroid, I was also going through withdrawal from stopping the Wellbutrin abruptly.

Certainly explains the high BP, and needless to say it's very embarrassing to make a mistake like this. So my cautionary tale here is to be vigilant about any prescription meds you take, especially if you are planning any upcoming procedures.

    Hey buddy.

I have an off topic question.

You say you take anti depressiv medication.

Can i ask why, and does it work?

And how is it Working? Does it help you beeing more like you dont Care about the problems you deal with?

I ask because i am going to a phsyacoligist and im considering anti depressive medication because i have anxiaty about my hair and being in public

So would taking medication help me dont Care about my hair anymore? And stop me using all Day looking in the mirror and feeling sad

  12. Hi Johnny,

I actually do both. I use coconut oil in my smoothie each morning but also apply about 20 drops of Fractioned Coconut Oil (not the edible form) on my head after the shower in the morning and in the evening when I head to bed. I also mix it with a 1-2 drops of essential oils each (Tea Tree, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, and Frankincense).

Already seeing a lot of white nape like hairs growing through everywhere (But you have to catch them in the right light haha)

But isn’t your scalp pretty oily trough the Day?

When i melt some coconot oil from my fridge and massage it into my scalp, it becomes oily and shiny alot.

  13. Thanks!

I actually did have A LOT of dandruff! I told Dr. Nader, and he recommended I use Nizoral shampoo twice a week. I haven't used it yet, and I felt like it started going away. I checked again, and still have dandruff. Not as much, but I do.

I don't think my scalp looks shiny. I think it looks regular.

    Cool :)

when you shampoo your hair next time and wash it out.

Try to scrabe your nail on your scalp while your scalp is still wet/damped and notice if there is white gunk under you nails

I have alot of that, and my scalp looks like you scalp in those pictures you posted.

  14. I think the coconut oil has helped with my dryness, haven't had much at all. But now you mention the tingles on the head I am feeling them now haha! Funny how our minds are able to manifest a symptom! If only we were able to manifest instant hair growth!!

Excited to see your progress pics!

    Regarding the coconut oil.

Are you eating it or massaging it on your scalp?

If you massage it on the scalp, how often do you do it? And how much do you use?

  15. Yeah, he's a good barber!

I'm already on week 5 or day 39.

My hairline looked so good at week 3 before the shedding. When I shower I notice more, and more hairs fall. I started taking Finasteride one week ago.

    Pics:

    IMG_0140.jpg

    IMG_0154.jpg

It's interesting, there are some hairs that are pretty long.

    First off

    Congratz on your hairtransplant :)

Second, see This picture i attached

It shows your scalp is normal scin color some placed and other places you have alot of white stuff on the scalp like wet dandruff.

Zoom in on the picture to see it.

I have the same problem myself.

I noticed that its Also present where you dont had grafts placed

    Is it something you notice?

Does it make your scalp shiny in different light?

And does it make your scalp itch?

    4A31789B-0966-4F9E-830D-1A435160429E.jpg.b481660c2167d5e04a39bac7b6eac2a5.jpg

  16. I'm unclear how you can use either hair fibers or Dermatch on buzzed hair. Fibers need to cling to longer hairs, and there's the danger that a "plop" of it will come out of the dispenser at once, directly onto the scalp, and not spread with nothing to catch onto. Dermatch, similarly, needs hairs to apply onto with the product's applicator, unless you are brushing it onto your scalp?

Curious how you manage this, as it might be something to pick up on if there's a method.

Back when I'd use concealers, I think I had my buzzer set to at least 3/8", if not more, in order to be able to use them.

I use a small drop of hair oil and spread it on the hair and Then i spray the fibres on

That Way they Will stick on nicely

  17. Hello! I live in Russia. I do not speak English well, so I use an interpreter, please understand me correctly. So, the first hair transplant was done in Moscow. Real Trans Hair Clinic. This is the only popular and presentable clinic in our country. I transplanted 2000 grafts, which was not enough for my type of alopecia. Quality suited, but the price tag was expensive. You will see in the photo their work as well. The back of my head began to shine a little, I decided to completely equalize the density of hair throughout the donor area. I chose a doctor for the second transplant, also focusing on the section of your forum - FIND a Prescreened Physician. In Turkey, you advise. Resul Yaman, ok, I went to him. The flight to Istanbul is fast, and the price tag is cheap. Now look what he did to my head. What do you think? Do you consider this the work of a professional? Firstly, he was in a great hurry, because he was also doing two more operations with me, is this normal? Secondly, 80% of the work was done by his assistants - children about 18 years old. The photos were taken 9 months after the operation. By the way reddening on the head did not take 3-4 months. At the first transplantation in Russia, redness ended after 5 days. As a result, we have the fact that Yaman destroyed the donor zone. Before the operation, I told him that the task was to straighten the density of the hair throughout the donor area, as a result, he simply chunks of the area from the head. Look at how much it aggravated the situation, I very much regret that I went to him, and now I just do not know what to do! Tell me please the best specialists who could improve the situation qualitatively. I do not care about saving money, I need quality and professionalism. The ugliness on my head that I have now, absolutely does not suit me. Please give me the most informative suggestions for further action!

Really feel sorry for you bro ?

Maybe SMP is an option in the donor area?

Are you happy with you reciepted area?

Do people notice something about your hair when you walk by og talk to someone?

Have people made Any comment to you?
