  1. Dr. Feller also has good things to say about Dr. Lorenzo from what I've seen in the forums. Dr. Lorenzo seems to be the only guy that can make the choi implanter pen work consistently. The choi implanter pen has been a disaster in other peoples' hands. Apparently, many docs damage the grafts just loading them into the implanter.

  2. I had the nipple pain in one nipple only and chucked the finasteride. :(

Thing is when I was about 13 I had a growth spurt and surge in hormone levels. Apparently the quick increase in T caused a good bit of it to aromatise and turn to E. Unfortunately I got a small bit of breast tissue, not visible but sore and palpable. On the plus side once DHT levels came up to par (5 alpha reductase levels must have taken awhile to increase naturally) after about a month it starting going away and was gone after 2 months.

When I tried finasteride I felt the same nipple getting sore and puffy so I said no way do I want this happening and got off it. Sucks that it affected me like that but everything was fine after a few weeks.

  3. I've seen a number of Dr. Rahal cases that are precisely planned out and take into account going norwood 6 in the future. There's also a guy, think it's El Nino, and he's had almost 5000 starting from the crown. He has yet to lose his hairline and people were asking what would happen if he lost the hair at the front. It turns out he has another 4000 by strip for the front half. After that he has between another 1500 to 2000 FUE if he needed them. The plan would have him at about 50% everywhere if he has to have another pass or two.

Nowadays a very decent head of hair is possible even for many norwood 6s who have lost nearly all their native hair.

  4. That's actually pretty damn impressive for two strips considering his level of baldness before the HTs. I think Hair Restoration Blackrock is a rip off but if that's his head of hair sans concealer then credit where credit is due. Great result and it has dramatically changed his appearance for the better.

  5. No illusion of density going on there Matt. Great stuff. If you take a set of headphones, move the ear pieces to in front of your ears in the temple area and imagine the area of scalp in front of the band , then that's the area that should have 45FU/cm2 moving up to 60FU/cm2 in the hairline.

  6. That is my least favorte look. If my head was normal, an didn't look like a prune, I would definitely just shave it off.

Spex has some pretty nice looking hair.

Mine is almost black, and most of the videos I looked at were almost black as well. On the good side, I am starting to get a little grey sprinkled in there.

Grey hair works incredibly well for HT. I'm the same but then again I remember being 21 and people commenting that I was beginning to get greys. That didn't bother me one bit though. I was far more concerned about balding.

  7. It's simply all in the shingling effect and the angulation of implantation which will allow multi FU hairs to splay in a manner which will maximise coverage. Often a lot of the really great restorations focus on quite high density in the frontal third and particularly the hairline and central forelock in order to block the passage of light through the hair which tends to cause the thin look. If you create that high density frontal third you can look at yourself in the mirror and turn your head and it shouldn't appear to let much light through. This is how people see you when talking face to face. The worst angle will always be the top down, usually in the crown or midscalp.

Numbers of FU are very important but just as important is hair calibre.

Best comb through I've ever seen? London Lad after his first op of about 7000. And to think he had a 2nd procedure bringing him up to 11200ish! Mind boggling. He's at the point with his hair where it is definitely something better than just an illusion.

  8. After you strip out you could also do some FUE grafts into the scar and then you may even be able to get down to a 2 on the sides and back, a 3 anyway. Most people nowadays can get 8000-9000 over multiple strips (2 or 3) if they go with a top doc. After that you can go for about 300 FUE into the scar and then another 1500 FUE into some problem spots. You might be able to get to 10,000 grafts by combining FUT and FUE.

  9. I'll tell you why he charges so much: 2 things. Firstly they sunk a lot of money into Sampson house which is an incredible facility in a weathly area, I'll give them that. Secondly the team seems to be pretty big at HRBR since there's 3 senior guys there. I think they probably charged the prices to recoup funds and manage overheads plus they're the only half decent operation in the country so they probably fell like they can extort twice as much money than is standard.
