Cardel, The work looks good and I think you'll be very happy with those temple points. They make a huge difference in appearance. I also looked at your blog and saw the picture that revealed your hairloss. I had the same thing happen but it was with a convenience store security camera. It's jarring when you have no idea it's happening and then the truth is revealed in a picture.

And I forgot to mention the price...

 

My god, that is a good price! You could afford to have a long vacation in India for two and a quality HT for what it would have costed in the states! Ouch!

 

And to have quality work done too... awesome! I'm so happy for you.

Yeah the price is definately good. Actually you could do like you mentioned and live like king and queen while beeing in India. And still save a good amount of money instead of getting the HT done in the sates/europe. Vizag os 12 times cheaper than the capital of Denmark. Radha gave me 700 grafts for free because i had created a blog here. So i Got This amazing HT at ridiculous low cost approximately 2300 $.

Two weeks vacation including flight tickets for two persons, hotel expenses, food expenses, travel money, hair transplant costed me less than 6.000 $

The work looks very clean and refined. Everything from graft placement and density to the overall design looks excellent. I'm also glad to hear that you had such a wonderful experience with your doctor and her staff. She seems to be very detail oriented, attentive and ethical. I think you're in for a great result.

 

You seem to have responded exceptionally well to meds too, which is just great. Your before & after meds shots are really encouraging and among some of the best that I've ever seen.

 

Also, thanks for documenting your experience so well. I'll be following your result closely as I'm sure others will be too.

I am very glad that you found this tread and made your comment. As you acknowledge the design is excellent. I can?t recommend Radha and her staff enough i truly had a wonderful experience and that have been a major contributor to the fact that i feel confident i will get an amazing result. I really trust her an i must say that i no longer think of her as my hair transplant doctor but a friend.

Thank you for acknowledging the transformation that meds have given me. The funny thing is that before taking the pictures i didnt thought that i have undergone a big transformation. I actually wieved treads her on this forum where others posted their good results and i got jealous Thats why you should always take before/after pictures.

I really enjoy that you RCwest and RodG have all acknowleged my results i do respect all of yours opinions very much. Thank you.

I will keep updating you with pictures so that you and i can keep track on my transformation. And i am glad to her that you will keep monitoring my progress.

I promised to take some pictures after 3 weeks but i am going to do it at the on month mark instead. So i will be posting pictures saturday. Everything as going as i expected and i am amazed at how relaxed i am about it. Many wrote that the waiting is the worst part of a HT. For me its not something that bothers me. I got plenty of other things to think about - this is meant in a good way

thanks for your questions. As for the cost, I will be able to tell you by next week. Back up, he told me that the best available donor would be used for my transplants. Whatever is left can be used in the future. Given my density and coverage needs, choice hair should not be spared in anticipation of surgery 5 years down the road. I have plenty body hair that may hopefully serve me in the future.

 

I am expecting not to look bald. You see I started wearing the hair system at age 21, I went to many hair replacement places and they said you have hair, its a shame and unethical for us to shave your head. However I was young and stupid and went and did with another place. Aaron, thank you for pushing with propecia, I will go buy it today. I just came back from my hair replacement place and realised how much thin hair i have left. I hope with trying the propecia I wll be able to keep them and with two surgeries of 15000 - 20000 grafts get my hair back. My expectation as I have said before is not to look bald and with the little hair that i have and with a mega session I think I will achieve the density than others in norwood 6 and in strangers eyes, I will have hair.. dont you agree? thats what i am hoping for at least?

 

I saw a video of 20000 grafts done by Dr Umar but they guy was completely bald and he got a great result - I have more hair than him so with 20000 grafts I will be happy if i get better result than him

 

Aaron all your points are valid and thank you again for bring up the propecia.

Please also use minoxidil. You can buy a generic version called Kirkland its very cheap. U can also buy the original product rogaine. U can get finasterid cheaper aswell you can but proscar instead of propecia and cut them to quarters that qould save you a ortune. Lots of people do that from this forum. You can just search for the names here and there will pop up a lot of post?s. If you get a good result from those products you would not need anything close to 20,000 grafts. Not everybody gets a good result from those products but if you did i think that taking whatever grafts there is available only in your donor region would make a major improvement. But please keep us updated with your progress.

Hi. I want to state some of the things that others have mentioned. If you want to restore some of your lost hair finasterid and minoxidil is the first options you should use. Please look at my profile and se how much hair i restored with those products + the rest of the things that are listed in my signature.

I was told by many that i was not a candidate for hair transplant but i ended up only needing 2700 grafts to get a very good density and a full head of hair. So like you i had severe hair loss but i think that yours is worse than mine were. But you still have some hair. You have all the characterics that could give a very good result from those products beeing young and having lost a lot of hair.

I think that if you havent tried this then your plan to undergo such a huge procedure is to say it mild not a smart thing to do.

I have seen some of Umar?s huge sessions not in person but on pictures. I think that when using a high number of body hairs your hair would look artificial and it would be quite obvious you had a hair transplant. I dont like the look of any of the huge cases i have seen from him.

If i were you i would start on minoxidil and finasterid and then reevaluate in 8-10 months time. Then if your situation have improved i would see if there was enough grafts in your donor region to get a full head of hair. I would try oral minoxidil. If not i would simply shave my head to see if i could settle with that. If that doesnt work you could think about this plan again.

This plan should only be your last resort.

Hi its normal. Add Nizoral shampoo to your regimen. If the itching is too bad you can switch to Rogaine foam instead of whatever you are using. The foam doesnt have propylene glycon in it. Thats the biggest contributor to the ichy feeling.

Wow where have I been that I missed this? Congratulations cardel! It looks like between the HT and Finasteride that you are on your way to a Spex quality hair restoration.

Thanks. It agree with you The donor scar is close to beeing undetectable. I will def keep posting updates on my progress. I would also like to correct myself. Perhaps i will take some pictures next week when i am allowed to cut my hair. Then its easier to see the scar aswell.

I think that it looks good at this stage like you said. The absorbable stiches will be absorbed within 3-6 weeks from surgery time. After that i think that it will look very clean. I will update with new pictures at my 1 month mark after my HT.

It seems that i have solved the problem.

Im looking so much forward to next week where i am allowed to cut my hair so i can get rid of this ridiculous haircut.

These pictures are taken 2 weeks post op. As mentioned before i will buy a comb so i can get better pictures of my scar.

I have experienced some shockloss especially in one of the sides of my head.

I will take the pictures closer up next time. Sry for the poor quality.

I am now 14 days post op. I have attached some pictures. I can see i had a bit of a schock loss in my left region but the hairs are coming back. I will buy a comb(?) in near future so i can show the scar better.

Thats a very good result a major change. I think that another session of about 2-2,5 k grafts would complete it. But you could also just let it be as it is. I think its age appropriate.

Sry i misread some of your post. If you left 23 cm2 untouched and the density to give an illusion of a full head of hair is 35 per square cm2 Then you will need 805 grafts for that area. Then you will have to add 5-15 grafts at all the cm2 where you had transplanted 20-30 per square cm2. I dont know how much that is ? And then plus with 10 % because some of the grafts will not survive.

Another solution is to just add 1 thousand grafts to the crown area. I actually think that would make a big difference as well.

Im not sure whether i would suggest another operation or not. I only gave my input on this because we have talked about it via email.

He looks like a NW2 to mee. But im no doctor Anyway the result is very neat.

Well ya...Finax will be alternate days for sure.

 

Mintop 10 or Mintop 5 is the confusion. Since I was already using Mintop 10, I have five packed bottles with me in store. Now, should I go and try to get it replaced with Mintop 5 or continue with it.

 

In both the cases, I would like to stick to using it only once in the night, which I have been doing for months.

If you already have 10 % in stock i would use them if i were you. There are lots that have used Dr. Lees minoxidil after HT and that also contains 10 % minoxidil. So i really cant see why it should be a problem. The 5 % could be a little more gentle to the skin but the 10 % wont damage any grafts or anthing important.

Completely agree with you on this. Anywayz, allz well that ends well...So if the result is good, I will be happy..

 

Bytheway, Since you have used it and saw great results, wanted a suggestion from you regarding medication.

 

Before my Hair Transplant, I used Finasteride 1 mg daily and Minoxidil 10% 2 ml once a day, for around 7 months and saw great results.

 

Now, had stopped Minoxidil for the Transplant, but will start using it next week.

 

The confusion now is should I start with 5% or continue with 10%. Dr. Madhu says that use 5% twice a day and dont use 10% now. Also, I will cut down on Finax to M W F as you do.

 

What do you suggest??? Did Dr. Radha say anything on this?

Your transplant def looks good from the pictures you have added.

I would def recommend only using finasterid on alternate days. I have far less sides. Just remember to take pictures to document that you dont loose to much hair. I think that switching to a 5 % minoxidil solution can be close to using the 10 % solution. The higher strenght solution wont (as i have read) regrow more hair but only do something for the hair texture. I can also recommend only using minoxidil once a day when u have used it for some time. Dr. Bernstein who is recommended here writes why that would be sufficient for maintainence .Dr Radha just suggested me to stick to my regimen if it had worked for me.

Like the others say give it some time. I would suggest that you need around 1500 more to get a good density.

Nice result. I think that you are getting greedy I dont think it looks nice having a 14 year olds hairline when you are 44 or not even in my age (25). It would not look natural and i think it would be a lot more noticeble that you had a HT. I think that deep down everybody that had a HT desire a low hairline but i think its important to go for a natural look. And thats what you?ve gor now. Congratz

I was a diffuse thinner before starting minoxidil and finasterid allmost everyone told me that replied to my tread in here where i aksed about if i was a candidate for a HT that a HT would not be an good option for me. But after i started my regimen i regrow a lot of hair and where then ideal for a HT.

When I first read it, I thought Dr. Feller and staff placed 3300 grafts in 1.5 hours LOL!
