  1. I had my HT done in Bosley in SF 5 weeks ago. I had 1581 grafts to the crown only. I felt MUCH better after 2 weeks when they removed my sutures! But it really took about a month for that funky numb, pain, dull throb to go away. 5 weeks out, I am almost back to normal. Best of luck with your recovery!
  2. I'm having the exact same symptoms 5 weeks after HT. Maybe these are the new hairs starting to grow?

    1 month out!

I am now 1 month out from my FUT done at Bosley San Francisco. Shock loss has definitely set in. I am much balder than before the procedure. I continue to take my generic finasteride for maintenence and protect my scalp from sunlight. I do feel much better, as I no longer have much pain. Just some numbness and tingling from both my donor and recipient sites. I must admit though that the shock loss has been terrifying. I received 1581 grafts to my crown, and the grafts were widely placed. So I have had quite a bit of loss of "normal" hair. From what I have read, this is hopefully a temporary phenomenon. Had I had prior knowledge of the extent of possible shock loss, I am not quite sure that I would have moved forward with this. In addition, last night I had one small area of bleeding. Not sure if this was a burst pimple, or a lost graft, but it was kind of weird. Overall, I am hopeful, but have been a bit disappointed thus far. I had quite a bit of discomfort the first several weeks, but have been recovering now and feeling better. Than the whole shock loss thing has been very difficult. To actually see yourself getting worse has been really rough. So 1 month out, here I am..
  5. I am a little over 3 weeks out from my hair transplant. Is it safe to get a scalp/head massage? I had a full body massage today and the therapist did a scalp massage. From my understanding, the newly implanted grafts are permanent after 2 weeks so I figured this would be okay. Any suggestions or thoughts on this?

  7. Had my first FUT at Bosley in San Francisco 3 weeks ago. The procedure seemed to go pretty well. I must confess that I had not at all done a lot of research on hair transplantion. My idea was that it was pretty easy and that going to Bosley was logical since they perform so many hair transplants and have all of the techs, docs, and financing in place for the procedure. I am a bit disappointed that Dr. Aragone did not go over shock loss as well as he should have. I have had a bit of shock loss myself. Being a practicing surgeon myself, I know the importance of proper informed consent. Post-procedure, I have followed all instructions, however, I continue to have discomfort at my donor site. I still cannnot lay on my back without getting a headache. I had 1581 follicular units planted only to the crown. I had no frontal work done at all. I do feel that I have had some shock loss in both the front and back of my scalp. Since the procedure, I have done a lot of reading on hair transplantation from this site and many others. All I hope is that my healing goes well and that I have a scalp full of beautiful hair in 6 months time! I must say that the post-operative healing has not been anywhere near as easy-breezy as most people on this site say it is. I had persistent pain, discomfort, headaches, and shock loss. For the first 2 weeks, I cursed myself for being so vain as to even try to cover such a small balding spot on my head. I also very much believe the consultation photo that was taken at bosley was purposely meant to make my bald spot look extremely large. My girlfriend and I looked at the photo which bosley took immediately prior to the procedure which looked nothing like my consultation photo. So I am quite unhappy about this as well. 3 weeks later, my head feels better, but I still have tenderness at my donor site. I have been feeling much better since I had my sutures removed at the two week point. I am bummed about having to wear a hat for 3 months. I love being outdoors as I do live in the San Francisco bay area. Anyway, all I can do now is pray for a great result, Would love to hear from any others who have had experience with Bosley SF..
