FUT at Bosley San Francisco

Had my first FUT at Bosley in San Francisco 3 weeks ago. The procedure seemed to go pretty well. I must confess that I had not at all done a lot of research on hair transplantion. My idea was that it was pretty easy and that going to Bosley was logical since they perform so many hair transplants and have all of the techs, docs, and financing in place for the procedure. I am a bit disappointed that Dr. Aragone did not go over shock loss as well as he should have. I have had a bit of shock loss myself. Being a practicing surgeon myself, I know the importance of proper informed consent. Post-procedure, I have followed all instructions, however, I continue to have discomfort at my donor site. I still cannnot lay on my back without getting a headache.

I had 1581 follicular units planted only to the crown. I had no frontal work done at all. I do feel that I have had some shock loss in both the front and back of my scalp. Since the procedure, I have done a lot of reading on hair transplantation from this site and many others. All I hope is that my healing goes well and that I have a scalp full of beautiful hair in 6 months time! I must say that the post-operative healing has not been anywhere near as easy-breezy as most people on this site say it is. I had persistent pain, discomfort, headaches, and shock loss. For the first 2 weeks, I cursed myself for being so vain as to even try to cover such a small balding spot on my head. I also very much believe the consultation photo that was taken at bosley was purposely meant to make my bald spot look extremely large. My girlfriend and I looked at the photo which bosley took immediately prior to the procedure which looked nothing like my consultation photo. So I am quite unhappy about this as well.

3 weeks later, my head feels better, but I still have tenderness at my donor site. I have been feeling much better since I had my sutures removed at the two week point. I am bummed about having to wear a hat for 3 months. I love being outdoors as I do live in the San Francisco bay area. Anyway, all I can do now is pray for a great result,

Would love to hear from any others who have had experience with Bosley SF..

Jm75,

I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience. I definitely recommend doing some research on the discussion forums and seeing what you can discover regarding clinics, downtime after the procedure, and post-operative healing. Additionally, I encourage you to keep our community updated with new blog posts, photographs, etc. Please, feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Good luck!
