  1. Even though I was encouraged to take finasteride post surgery, I found that the sexual side effects were too intense and stopped shortly after.

Did you experiment with lower dosages spaced out more frequently? Some say this works for curbing the sexual sides and it helps in my case with the annoying sleep issues I face at higher doses. .5mg M-W-F or M-F are some examples.

    Just something else to consider.

  2. mmm -I'm thinking of having my temple points strengthened too.I have had 4000 fut with Dr Bisanga and 3000 fue with Dr Erdogan so far.i must have in the region of 1000 grafts left and incidently I'm 61.

It will make a world of difference even though it's just a small area and low graft count, I've had a similar number of lifetime grafts and was starting to look "top heavy" with everything being reinforced including the hairline, frontal third and temple corners but not the lower temples.

2.5 weeks post-op the hairs were still there and I could see it took 10 years off my look. Of course they have shed now but looking forward to their return.

Also according to Dr. K I have an ample amount of donor left, which may eventually lead to more hair greed at some point in time

  3. We talked about something similar in this thread here below, and this was my answer.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think it has to do with the growth cycle for the newly transplanted hairs all kicking in at around the same time where you have a large number of hairs that have started to grow within the same growth phase at around 6 months to one year.

Then the normal hair growth cycle for each individual hair balances out in time and not all hairs transplanted are in the anagen (growing) phase at the same time. I experienced this with my transplants, and an email reply from Dr. Hasson many years ago said something on similar lines.

Another good reason to wait it out before having a second or third procedures I guess, until everything balances out both good and bad.

Spex's link also provides great insights.

  4. If you don't have any existing hair and transplanting into bald scalp the angles most surgeons use will have the hair growing downwards towards your forehead to give as much coverage as possible, while if the surgeon is transplanting into existing hair they will try to match the hair angles of what is already there. If you have a bald area in your hairline or temple corners they also try to use a swooping curve angle to give as much coverage as possible (as opposed to just having the angles straight).

There is an article that mentions the exact angles they aim for and I will try to dig it up.

  5. Actually it's the opposite, Finasteride was originally used to treat patients who already had benign prostate ailments.

The problem after starting Fin however, is that it becomes more difficult to detect prostate cancer during screening so be sure to have a PSA test done before starting this drug.

See your general practitioner or someone who specializes in internal medicine, not necessarily a dermatologist.

  6. I really like reading this website and as I found many posts regarding lack of patient reviews for Dr. Feriduni I am pleased to be able to offer you some insight.

Congrats man glad someone finally posted a patient experience from Feriduni after a long while lol

The work looks clean and refined (would like to see some graft placement pics if possible) and should make for a great result.

  7. Once upon a time growth yields were superior with FUT, but recently as long as you are going with an elite and skilled FUE surgeon who performs manual FUE (stay away from the robots and automatic extraction tools) the disparity in growth rates is getting close to negligible.

They will examine the grafts in both cases under a microscope btw.

I posed this same question about growth yields in person to one of the leading hair restoration surgeons in N. America Dr. Raymond Konior who performs both FUT & FUE and his answer was "A graft is a graft."

Another aspect of FUT vs FUE is lifetime donor supply, the best way to proceed to maximize your donor supply is to go with FUT first then FUE later on. So if you're as stated a NW 4-4A going with FUT first makes sense.

As for surgeons, Dr. Gabel and Dr. Hasson are great surgeons and you might benefit from also researching the work of Dr. Konior and Dr. Rahal if going with FUT.

And and additional FUE surgeon to consider if you go that route is Dr. Diep in Los Gatos (edit: as mentioned by E39 too).

  8. I'm not so sure anymore Bill, the reason being David mentioned that the main disruptive member who likes to come back under different aliases is masking his IP address (using either a Proxy or VPN).

Therefore we will never know for sure.

The sentiment on the forum from dealing with combative and belligerent users who keep reappearing and apparently are hell bent on showing us they will never go away no matter what we do (the one main one also making inferences he was going to sue to stay on here) has the active forum members quite tired and aggravated with this circus-like atmosphere.

I would most rather be spending my limited time to help out fellow hair loss sufferers who really need assistance any day than wasting my time battling windmills with trolls and mentally unstable types. It was never like this here before.

And here is yet another one today... See attached.

Would it be possible to have a paid moderator on here more often?

And of course we agree with your method for reporting mentioned above going forward.

  9. Nizoral overuse could if used too often or if too soon post-op so I would stop using it for a while and use only sparingly after 6 months after your surgery. Reason being it has very harsh ingredients.

Fin in principal should not as I don't think beard hair is affected by it, though some have said they shed body hair and even beard hair when starting/stopping Fin.

This is something you might want to discuss with your surgeon.

  10. Wait a minute, aren't you the same user as NeedSomeHelpBro who already posted here??

(this time and subsequently I'm posting screenshots as to have no confusion)

Though I don't think you're out to cause disruption as some other member(s), but using two different aliases is against the HRN's TOS.

If you don't have any malice intended to the site in mind, really would be a good idea to consolidate your username into one.

  11. Hey Ernie,

Is there a chance if you go to dense in the recipient area that there's a chance of permanent shock lost because the follicles are too close together? Or something like that?

Yes the chance increases with subsequent procedures, and for touchup-up procedures I like stick and place where the surgeon places one graft at a time.

But Rahal has a good reputation so it should be fine, are there are any posts of Rahal doing second procedures with success into existing hair here?

I know he's a master at dense packing but would like to see cases of existing hair.

  12. How about some pictures ?

That is around the 12th time he has been asked to post pics to help the forum make a recommendation and has refused.

The details why he's not posting any pics are on page 2 and 3 of this thread.

As I mentioned in the other thread, it may be a good idea for him to take a break from here for a while.

Otherwise everyone will continue to think what Stig has said is true.

  13. David,

Concerning the harassment we talked about, the 2 members above this post, hsrp10 and stig, have posted harassing comments as you can read. I respectfully ask that as a serious and fair moderator I am hoping you are that you seriously curtail their harassment.

This is the disruption you are complaining about that you mistook is coming from me. As you can see I have not addressed them at all. I am having a conversation solely with you as a mature adult. I want to enjoy this site in peace without any abuse. I would appreciate your fairness in this matter. Thank you.

    That statement is absolutely incorrect.

In your unedited version of your post you talked about federal law and how it applies to forums and cyber bullying and harassment and how you were "sorry it had to come to this" but you had to protect yourself.

The rest of my post contains facts (I can go back and post the actual screenshots if you'd like) regarding your behavior and what has transpired here on HRN regarding your case. You can try to manipulate and spin but it will get you nowhere.

And Stig was just making a funny comment.

Accusing people of harassment when it's not harassment is actually a form of harassment in itself.
