  1. Im starting this new thread to get more info on Maral Klinic Istanbul -

Does any one have good photos, video or anything at all about Maral klinic Turkey. They are offering great prices, but I wish to see and more importantly hear about excellent results FUE.

I am about to go for FUE and have 3 Clinics in mind currently, Erdogan, Doganay and (Maral Asmed Istanbul because of price) Ive seen some work from Maral, looks ok...but!

    and P.S

I have had two extremely different opinions on the success rate of beard hair and its viability. No names but.

1 Surgeon says Beard is no problem for transplant and will be successful 1500-2500 can be harvested.

    2. The other surgeon says that it is not advisable and many donor hairs from beard may die and that it leaves noticeable scaring and does not recommend it.... HELP !!!

I really need some independent help, advice, guidance photos etc

Many many thanks for all responses. :)

  2. I had 2500 grafts from Dr. Rahal last July 26 to repair my bad 2000 grafts surgery from a previous Hair transplant clinic located in the Gulf (LADHAIR). My scar was 1cm wide, however Dr. Rahal tried to reduce it down to 0.7cm and created new scars at the sides which are pencil thin to extract more grafts. Im now 5 months post OP. I kept shaving my head weekly after surgery to look clean and to make my pictures clearer for the viewers.

How do you plan to get rid fo those front line hairs lower down??

  3. If my Surgeon does not do the actual implants, I will NOT be using him, I don't want any technician to be doing any procedures on my head. I want the surgeon to remove my hairs and transplant them..... or I will find someone who can.

I might reconsider. I am more inclined to have a surgeon reconstruct the front hairline and possibly consider assistants to to the remainder. This then may mean going to 2 different surgeons in Turkey. I like the idea of Hakan or Erdogan for the front and Maral Klinik for the remainder. I'm thinking out loud, but trying to balance costs at the same time.

  4. Dear Mr.*********, (subject to agreement)

Dr.Koray is planing possible maximum graft number according to your donor capacity he will decide the final number on live consultation (minimum 3000 - maximum 3500grafts )

MSP is not recommended before the operation but possible after 6 months but Dr.Koray is planning tricopigmentation over your FUT scars one day after the operation. You have to stay

minimum 3 nights in Istanbul.Doctor wants to do live consultation one day before the operation at 13:00 ; so you have to landed before 11:00 to catch the consultation on time if you should be after 16:00 p.m on the same day(or you may stay one more night).

want to do them on the same day or you may come one day earlier (4 nights).

As Doctor is using manuel punch for extraction; the operation will take 2 days for 3500 grafts (1.day: 1750 grafts + 2.day :1750 grafts).Separation of grafts will be

decided on the consultation together with you.(According to your photos 2000 grafts frontline and midline and 1500 grafts for vertex).

Doctor wants to control the operation on the third day after your first wash of your hair. Tricopigmentation is also planning on the third day.So your flight departure

  5. OK, I have received a call from Dr. Koray Erdogan discussing potential procedures. He is very busy but was cordial and informative about my position. This has calmed me down a little. we discussed corrective procedures and he was confident that he firstly could resolve any issues with bad implants and do a good joob on corrective surgery moving forward to more procedures for covering the balding areas. He also said his new clinic is open for business.

  6. New Clinic looks great... however, if I'm going to spend 10,000+ I expect super and reliable comms. Maybe some of the money spent on the cafe should have been spent on a decent email system. I run 5 different business with different emails and still I make sure all my customers are instantly responded to if they have inquiries...New clinics, New email systems, whatever it is, they should be more focused on communication especially during this delicate time of new clinics. Customers need 110% reliable communication. We are not buying potatoes from a super market, this hair restoration is probably one of the most delicate and important cosmetic procedures that anyone could ever have and when confidence is broken because it takes 3 weeks to get a mere response is not good enough. I hope the communication is improved dramatically. Attention to serious and reliable communications is the key to customers confidence.

From Dr. Koray Erdogan Website Welcome

I am happy to invite you to my newly revised website. The internet has made many peoples life easier. With instant access to a variety information and sources, research becomes much easier when trying to make an informed decision on an important subject.

    * FUT

FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) took its name from a journal paper published by a group of hair surgeons in 1998, even though it started with microscopic dissection methods by Dr. Bobby Limmer that took place in 1988. It is still accepted as the “golden standard” of the hair surgery techniques in the hair surgery congresses]

I had my FUT in 1995 by Dr Schory, (Lathams) Huntsville Alabama... was called Micro/mini grafts then, but still cut hair in one section from back of head and disectedt eh grafts to Mini=3-4 hair/micro1-2 hairs. Certainly seems surgery has come a long way since then (although my procedures with Dr Schory are not terrible at all, he had to correct Frankensteins work 1991 (Dr May London - Slit grafts) as well as implant more hair), new techniques have advanced and this is why I am concerned about good communication for people like me who need corrective surgery and further procedures. in my case I was told that I don't have enough elasticity in the back of my donor and so FUE is likely to be more preferable (Head and Beard).... Hence inquiries with Dr. Koray Erdogan and others.

  7. I will not add any more info on my disappointment apart from this after I had sent several emails of disappointment. Having received this email this evening. So maybe there is some light at the end of this inquiry....I intend to speak wtih Dr. Koray Erdogan directly. I intend to end this thread.

  10. Manual extractions are used by the top notch FUE docs, mostly guys like Erdogan and Lorenzo. I guess it gives them a better feel. I'd rather get manual FUE over robotic FUE. Just compare the results and you will see why manual is better, in my opinion.

Seriously, they're FUE work reminds me of Monet holding his paintbrush.

Dr Hakan Doganay uses both techniques, including the auto machine, he says he prefers this according to my research.

  12. Actually Dr. Lorenzo was impressed with the manual one step FUE technique of Dr. Erdogan and planning to adopt it as well. The difference between them is when it comes to receipent area. Lorenzo likes to use Choi implanter while Erdogan does not and perfers the traditional forceps also Erdogan like the sit position while Lorenzo like the prone position as he believes its easier and faster.

When I asked about one step technique, all what I was told that its handle and forceps at the same time in a sequential manner and it saves time and be able to go faster with rates from 500 to 1000 graft per hour which assures the survival of the graft.

Its seems to me that the forcep procedure might eventually become outdated, it looks and is a clumbersome approach to inserting transplants. I like the impressive one step approach and especially the choi implanter looks great..This is a personal view point from my persepctive. I could be wrong...but then again there has been plenty of wrong and bad surgeons doing damage on peoples heads in the past including mine.
