  1. My username is Don'tDoIt on another forum. I posted the below text on that other forum. I thought it would be useful if I post it here also: "Dr. Ziering performed my HT in the late 1990's. He promised me the moon but did not deliver. I was naive. Dr. Ziering's job gave me a pluggy looking hairline made of minigrafts. He left me with a wide strip scar across the back of my head. He said that no one would ever notice my strip scar. What a joke. You can see this thing from a mile away. You can guess my opinion of Dr. Ziering before I even encountered this thread. I agree with all the above commenters that Jason Gardiner had a ton of concealer on his head during that program. And Dr. Ziering knows it. Yet he still feigns ignorance. That tells you something right there. "
  2. lemonsours, you should google "Hair Loss Help Forums" and go to that website. Click on the section that says "Hair Transplant Repair." Then, look for the thread about "Pitting removal with plug removal" by a poster with the username "Alexander Hartigan." In that thread you will see plenty of photos of a case of graft removal from the crown, with immediate post-op through several months post-op A better thread for you would be the one called something like "My transplant reversal with BHR." In that thread a poster with the username "jonzi" shows a case that is more like yours, since jonzi had a bunch of pluggy-looking, scraggly-looking grafts in the temples, perhaps like you. He had them removed by Dr. Bisanga at BHR in Belgium. Within a few months, it looks like jonzi never had any work done. The redness from the extraction sites takes a while to fade, but it does fade. Good luck with whatever you decide!
  3. usedandabused is correct to warn those of you considering a hair transplant. Like usedandabused, I am dissatisified with my hair transplant. Just remember that you are going in for a procedure that can change your life. Make sure that you are willing to accept a permanent scar across the back of your head. Remember that you will NEVER be able to cut your hair short in back. Make sure that you are going to a surgeon that has a lot of successful results posted on these forums. Don't even think about going to a surgeon unless he has a lot of examples posted on the internet and a lot of positive reviews from commenters.
  4. Artie, please note that Tao can state the above because he was smart enough to go to a top-shelf surgeon. I was not as smart as Tao. I went to a sub-par surgeon, got sub-par results and therefore I regret doing it. Please do your research and only go to a surgeon who has a lot of great results posted on these forums. Your choice in surgeons is extremely important.

  6. Even before this thread appeared, I was deciding between Dr. Konior and Dr. Ron Shapiro. I live in the Chicago area, so picking Konior would be nice for logistical reasons. Konior's higher price is a concern, but it is offset by the fact that I will not need to pay airfare and hotel expenses if I go with Konior. Either way, Shapiro or Konior, you can't go wrong!
  7. usedandabused, I also feel like your post is exactly like my situation. As my username suggests, I regret doing it. Now I have this permanent strip scar across the back of my head and a hairline that does not look natural. To anyone who has not had a transplant but is considering it, please think long and hard about it. Don't get it done unless you can handle having a permanent strip scar across the back of your head that will prevent you from ever cutting your hair short.
  8. I agree with the above posts. If you are in the Chicago area, you should go do Dr. Raymond Konior. Go to his website at premierehairdoc dot com I am considering going to him for some repair work. His website shows many impressive results and he has also shown many results on the various hair transplant forums, including this one.
