  1. Thanks for the responses. So Dylan, u had a FUE procedure and didnt shave ur head? Was it just temple filling (as i had done badly the first time!)? Im not sure how unshaven works, unless its just the temples....mist be bloody hard in the middle with all the hair! was it miles more expensive, time consumjng etc as stated by the first reply above? Where did u get it done? Happy? (Sorry - a lot of questions! i dabbled with some of those tablets years back, but half the time i thought it was probably fake stuff online - generic fins etc....so gave up on them. Also read loads of horror stories - but then again, ive had my kids now! 😂
  2. Hi, Its been a long time since ive been on here. Long story short, i had a cheap botched small hair transplant done at the Noble Clinic in Surrey (i assume / hope its shut down now, it was so bad!). Second hand car salesman, long girly haired Allen Foster (or soemhting) suckered me in when i was young and naive (about 12 years later now) having wrestled with the terrible plugs in my temples for years, shaving them out daily and pushing all my hair forward in an attempt to hide the mess - ive decided it might be time to consider a second proper procedure here in the UK. I also have very fine hair so its getting harder to hide the mess as ive got older. Are Farjo in Manchester still the best? (They were a while bavk when i was first on here) anyway, I digress! I was just wondering how everyone deals with going back to work and everything after a procdure? My first one they didnt shave my head so i could blag it (and my hair was thicker back then). But dont listen to any of this crap about going back to work 2/3 days later - my anesthetic from my temples came down my forehead and i looked like the elephant man and had to phone in sick for a whole week after my first one! 😂 i just cant get my head around how anyone can go back to work after having their head shaved and how it all looks for weeks / months afterwards. Do people take sabaticals from work? I work in a bank in the city, and cant work out how i could possibly pull it off without looking ridiculous (and yes, im very self conscious etc about my looks which makes things worse!) sorry, been rambling a bit and i guess theres a couple of questions in there somehwere - appreciate any info! Cheers ps almost forgot, i also cant just shave my head because of the whopping great terrible scar at the back of my head! 🙈
  3. Harryforreal - i have no idea what vbeam is! Lol!
  4. So do any of the hair transplant centres do electrolysis? I dont really want to go to some Shazza in a local salon who has no idea what she is doing and worse still, has no idea what is my normal hair and what is the crap!?!
  5. Thanks for the replies! Im just trying to sort out some photos so u can see what im talking about One thing i didnt realise was reversal would mean using the FUE technique....on my temples!?! Or have i misunderstood that!?! Sounds awful and surely it would leave more scars in an incredibly visible area......??
  6. Hi everyone, I had a crappy HT done at the Noble clinic about 10 years ago and have battled with my hair ever since. Trying to style it every day before work to try and hide the mess of my temples is something ive had to get used to, and i will admit ive had my depressed days about this...usually when its raining or windy or something and i have to put so much hairspray on its ridiculous! My question is about having grafts removed and do people know what the costs of this is...especially compared with having another HT procedures to add more hair to the rubbish Noble did to me? Unfort i no longer have the shaved head option due to my terrible scar - which i really wish i could do sometimes - i thought removal would probably be better and just put up with receding temples...which has gotta be a million times better than what i have to do every day at the mo! Its hampering me so much that i hate going outside in the day without a cap (apart from at work), can hardly go away, or share rooms with people coz of the time it takes me to do my hair...its embarrassing and restricts my life...which is peeving me off massively! Anyone got any experiences or idea of costs of having this done. I also thought that removing the rubbish i had done, instead of wasting them, maybe they can just be placed a bit more densley, a bit further back and that would be a little better than me basically burning the money i invested last time! Just a thought! Cheers for your views gents... (I posted this several years ago, but having done nothing i wanted to revisit it)
  7. Thanks for the advice mate.. Im not really sure if the grafts are in the wrong direction etc...they obviously didnt put enough in, and so it looks very fake and pluggy at the temples. If it was more dense, then i think it might be fine, but not sure if i can afford another op, or put myself through all that again after what happened the 1st time. I also worry, like many, how much more hair i will lose and therefore if i get the temples filled in...might end up looking even worse in a few years! Im not sure laser hair removal would be right though, coz i think you might risk having ur actual "original" hair removed by some inexperienced salon...heaven forbid! Just want to get something done now though, so i can go in the sea again or go for a walk in a hurricane, without freaking out!
  8. Hi everyone, As mentioned in some of my older posts, I had a crappy HT done at the Noble clinic a few year ago and have battled with my hair ever since. Trying to style it every day before work to try and hide my temples is something ive had to get used to, and i will admit ive had my depressed days about this...usually when its raining or windy or something and i have to put so much hairspray on its ridiculous! My question is about having grafts removed and do people know what the costs of this is...especially compared with having another HT procedures to add more hair to the rubbish Noble did to me? Ive had a couple of emails with a guy from Farjo clinic in the UK, and he agreed that possibly just having my grafts removed might be better. As i no longer have the shaved head option due to my scar - which i wish i could do sometimes - i thought removal would probably be better and just put up with receding temples...which has gotta be a million times better than what i have to do every day at the mo! Its hampering me so much that i can hardly go away, or share rooms with people coz of the time it takes me to do my hair...its embarrassing and restricts my life...which is peeving me off massively! Anyone got any experiences or idea of costs of having this done. I also thought that removing the rubbish i had done, instead of wasting them, maybe they can just be placed a bit more densley, a bit further back and that would be a little better than me basically burning the money i invested last time! 9. Ive tried many...L'oreal thickening that everyone raves about, was ok, but didnt notice much thickening. Toppik thickening shampoo is pretty useless i think (sing it now)....Revita, didnt notice much either (but a good clean head of hair after). My personal recommendation is LS&B RECONSTRUCT PROTEIN THICKENING AND STRENGTHENING SHAMPOO You can find it on loads of websites, not cheap, but not as bad as Revita et al - im pretty pleased with it - i definitely noticed a bit thicker hair, and just a really nice shampoo anyway. I dont beleive shampoos can ever work miracles - but this this is best of a bad bunch in my opinion!! Im going back to it, when my Toppik runs out!
  10. So i've not been on here for quite some time, but thought i would give a little update with what ive been doing over the last few months. As previously discussed, i had a pretty crappy HT when i was 25 (28 now) at the Nobel Clinic near gatwick, sold to by the stringfellows lookalike Alan! It did clump a bit of hair in my temples...where my hairloss began....but it wasnt successful as it was no where near dense enough...and i spend most of my mornings now, styling my hair with hairspray etc to try and hide the crappy job! Anyway - thats that rant over with again!! Since joining this site, i have done lots of reading, and decided to try some of the shampoos etc being talked about and i also decided to take the plunge with some finasteride and see what happens (and whether my genitals fall off)!! So anyway, i tried using the Revita stuff at like ??30 a pop....i found it did nothing really, but did wash the hair niceless. Cant really say much more than that. For the money i dont think its worth it. More recently i have been using that L'oreal Mens thickening shampoo that everyone has been raving about. I quite like this stuff, as its a good wash, leaves the hair clean and i think it does improve coverqage a little (but i mean a "little"). I still style my hair the exact same way, but at ??3 a pop i think its worth using as ur everyday shampoo. Liek most people on these sites, i think ur kidding urselves if u beleive shampoos etc are going to work miralces etc! I also decided to try some of that Toppik stuff. Now it do agree it works wonders on the crown area (with a little hairsrapy to hold in place) - but i swear there has got to be better ways to apply the stuff! The crown is easy to apply to...just shake it on. But with the temples i beleive it is pretty useless! It just covers ur forehead in brown gunk! Takes ages to try and clear off. I also dont understand the instructions of "apply to dry hair and style ur hair as usual"! You cant style it at all. Put some clay in ur hands and style ur hair, and ur hands just end up covered in brown shit, as does ur face...and its just really a pain in the arse! If anyone knows how to better apply it then please feel free to explain....but i will say for the crown it does well! All those before and after photos of people who are almost totally bald and it shows a full head of hair - well, i just dont beleive it!!! And so as i mentioned, i did take the plunge with that Finasteirde stuff. Now i went the cheap way and bought 1mg "generic" finasteride from an online website. Costs me like ??100 approx i think...for about a years supply. I didnt want to mess around with cutitng pills up etc so i got the 1mg tablets for ease of use. Due to being terrified about all these "sides" everyone talks about, i decided to do the one tablet every other day routine. Now its been about 4/5 months and i cant see any change or improvement to be honest. I do not have severe hairloss, and have always had pretty fine hair, but cant see much change. As for sides, i guess i ahve been rather lucky...i dont really have any, except one i guess. I have had no problems with maintaining/getting an erection or anything like that, but i hbave found (like many) that my semen is much thinner/runnier whatever u want to call it. I dont have any less quantity, i would actually say i have lots more of it now, due to its lack of thickness. Also due to this, i do find that now it shoots out about million times faster/futher thatn it did before. WHich i dont actually like, but i guess its not that bad. It just occassionally suprises my girlfriend, if u catch my drift!!! Anyway - not idea if ill stay on the finasteride or not...just keep taking the pills at the mo...and hope maybe ill see some good changes! I wont hold my breath! Just thought i'd update people with my progress, hope it helps! Still considering another HT to sort out the mess from Nobel but still a bit scared! More research me thinks! Cheers!
  11. although ur thread does go on and on a bit - i have to agree with some parts of it. Im not sure the age thing highlighted is really that relevant. If ur old enough to drink, drive, vote, have sex, get married then surely ur old enough to decide on whether to have a procedure like an HT done. If u dont do your own research, then it kinda serves your right....i dont believe you would go out and buy a new car without doing plenty of research would u? And like anything, occasionally the results arent what u expected or wanted...and i guess that is sods law - unfortunately. Now what i do agree with is how bad some of these procedures can turn out, and i am a late 20s guy, who had an HT done back when i was 25....and it was pretty awful to be honest (Nobel Clinic, near gatwick...a proper Stringfellows look alike salesman called Alan). I basically had the beginnings of my temples receding. They did the Op (and i agree, the doctor doesnt do the grafts...which i didnt know). Now several years later, i obviously have some hair there, but its no where near thick enough...and does look a bit stupid. I have to style my hair with products and hairsrapy every day to ensure i cover the areas coz it looks crap. I dont let me girlfriend run her hands through my hair coz its embarassing, and walking out in the wind, or going in the sea on holiday is almost a write off now. All very depressing in a way, but ive learnt to deal with it. Not knowing about all these kinda sites before i went and did this (i just saw the adverts at the back of GQ magazine), i too didnt do enough research...and didnt realise there were all these hillbilly clinics...i learnt the hard way! I do regularly consider having another one (from a top recommended doctor) to fill in or basically fix what was done before....but i am obviosuly very sceptical after what i went through...and the costs etc etc. I guess lesson learnt springs to mind (for the both of us)!!!!!!!
  12. thanks bolody, think we posted at exactly the same time...and ur right, it was the Noble Clinic i went to!! As to your point about density, i would ahve never gone in the first place if i didnt think they could replicate my current hair density...thats a bit of a negative!! Not sure if its worth goign through another op then and the extra cost, in that case! Will have to have a think!! Will do some research on this farjo guy as well...do u have any idea on rough costs etc?? Cheers guys!
  13. thanks for all your responses - all useful and i agree with the general consensus that the US is better....would take a lot more research for me to head over there though!! And bullitnut, my apologies (and to the norton clinic), i actually went to the Noble Clinic near Gatwick!! Had just read a load of posts on the norton clinic and had it stuck in my head!! Doh!! Do u happen to ahve any good feedback for the norton clinic then??? Have seen there advert in the back of GQ also.... Anymore recommendations or tips much appreciated everyone!!
  14. Hi everyone - very happy to have found this site and actually hear some useful imformation. I, like many, jumped into all this with my eyes shut, and went to the Norton Clinic a couple of years ago out by Gatwick for strip surgery (advert in the back of GQ) with no prior research. Was promised the world and certainly didnt receive it!! I dont feel my treatment went as bad as some of the other cases i have read on here, just not what i expected. Anyways, i dont think i have any kind of extreme hairloss by any means, just some slight receding at the temples and i think a little just now from the crown. My hair has always been annoyingly fine and for the past few years i have relied on the trusted hairdryer, hair product, and the secret ingredient, hairspray, to ensure everything stays in place even when its windy. My hair transplant did create a good new hairline at the front, the problem is it was no where near dense enough, so i have actually had more hassle styling my hair since the op, to try and hide what was done. If it had been made dense enough then i would have said i had had a successful op, but the fact that even the slightest wind, or taking off a jumper, moves my hair all out of place and then this much less dense areas of hair becomes visible and thus embarrassing!! Bl00dy nigtemare i can tell you. Anyway, i have a few questions im keen to get answered if anyone out there can help?? 1> I want to look into getting another procedure done, but i dont really want to fly to the US (or similar), is there definitely nowhere in the UK that is good with good surgeons? 2> I have read about the "DHI no-touch technique" where i wouldnt require another big scar at the back of my head (really dont want that again if possible!!) - any thoughts, ive heard bad reviews of them?? 3> I did not need to shave my head last time i had my op, so i dont want to have to do it this time (if possible)?? 4> I have not used any other type of product to stop hair loss (finasteride etc, shampoos) - i dont really want to start taking a pill everyday for the rest of my life (that cant be healthy)...or maybe i should, any good recommendations? Although i ahve already had one op, i am really new to all this and never realised this world existed online - so really happy i found it and thanks everyone for your help!! (just wanted to add - never believe a word these places say about goign straight back to work - i had to phone in sick for a week because the aneasthetic they put in my temples starts to move down on to ur forehead, so you look like something the elephant man would be proud of!! Took a week for that to diffuse!!) Thanks again everyone! Cheers
