  1. I work out for 20 years and use Propecia for 4 years and haven't noticed any of those effects. I'm such a big guy and take lots of supplements and I'll never give up Propecia because any of those studies ot theories or whatever. Even if it makes me loose muscle mass, which honestly I don't believe, I'll never prefer to be a little more stronger but bald. I also have never noticed any decrease in my libido. But it's just me you know.
  2. I already have a manipulated minoxidil formula without the propylen glycol with flutamide and betamethasone but this one I use at night because it makes my hair looks awful. My hair looks nicer with the foam and it takes less than 30 seconds to liquify it with a hair dryer. I can get more or less 2ml of the liquid with one cap so it's not bad at all. Next time I'll let it liquify by itself just leaving the foam in the cap while I take a bath to se how many time this process takes. Anyway thanks for the tip.
  3. Unfortunatelly I have no other option but try this one. The liquid irritates my scalp and foam get all over my hair beeing hard to reach the scalp no matter how many rows I try to make. I think foam is not indicated for people who is not bald enough like me but I'm glad I found this suggestion.
  4. Go to ebay.com and ask the seller to declare it as you wish. In Brazil it's not necessary to do that with Foam but some supplements as Creatine, for example, I have already done it.
  5. I have made a second HT 24 days ago and have started using a manipulatted minoxidil formula without propylen glycol. The problem is I have lots of hair and it's hard to apply it in a way I can assure that all parts of my head that are propense to shedding are covered. So I apply lots of Minoxidil. I think 5 or 6 ml each time I apply (I do it twice a day). Can all this Minoxidil do any harm to my hair or health? If it does, please tell me how to apply this thing if I have long and full hair. My dermathologis said it's not necessary to rub it into the scalp because most part would stay at the fingers or hair but I don't share his opinion. So to be completed covered I first apply rubbing and after just drop it. This is a stupid way to do it that's why I'm here asking for your opinions. I have ordered Foam but I think it would be more difficult to apply than the liquid.
  6. I'm 47 and I have done my first HT in November 2007. Since the day 20 post HT I've been using Kirkland Minxidil and Finasteride. On February 2010 I have to quit Kirkland because it was irritating my scalp very badly and I got a serious dermatitis. I have made a second HT 24 days ago and my hair was falling a lot (since day 1 of post HT). I decided to go for a manipulatted minoxidil formula without the propylen glicol (that has in Rogaine and Kirkland), two days ago. Coincidence or not my hair imediatelly stop falling. It looks thicker than 2 days ago. I think Minoxidil is a forever to use thing in my life and I do recommend its usage for anyone who wants to preserve native hair. If it works as effective as we wish I think I would never know but I can say that my hair had fallen a lot when I quit it this year. That's why I went for a second HT. My doc also recommended its usage. Before first HT: http://i742.photobucket.com/albums/xx68/Bourni/Outubro2007-antes.jpg After first HT: http://i742.photobucket.com/albums/xx68/Bourni/Out2009eJun2010-depois.jpg Can't hardly wait to post after second HT, lol.
  7. I'm fine with that but I found it weird. It doesn't bother me at all and I was just curious about what's their point. Your link have already explained it, thanks. This forum is great and I'm very glad I have found it. It's been helping me a lot not only for my post HT because I have found answers for a bunch of questions I had before.
  8. Hello guys. Would you please tell me why I have received 3 messages from girls wanting to know me better here? What the hell is that? Of course I don't believe they had fallen in love for my forehead, so what's the deal? What do they want guys? Do they thing I'm bald, needy and stupid, lol? Have you also received thos kinf of messages?
  9. Thanks for your respoinse Bill. The doc has lots of experience in hair transplant and I suppose he's updated about new technics also. But if he had made some shit in my head I think he wouldn't tell me and that's why I'm here to learn more about HT and its consequences. As you, I have irritation in my scalp if I try to use Minoxidil. Weird is the fact that I had been using it for 3 years but since February 2010 I had to quit it. I got a serious dermatitis and give its usage a break. After almost a month and a half later, when dermatitis had decreased, I used Minoxidil for just one day and the dermatitis caught me immediately. I have tried to use Minoxidil 4 times after this, the last was last week after the second HT and guess what? No way to use it man. I got my scalp irritated again. I oredered Foam from US but up to the time it arrive in my country I'll use a manipulated formula of Minoxidil without Propylene glycol.
  10. Hey guys try to help me here, please! I know I'm very anxious and I apologize for bumping the thread. All responses I got up to now are 2 weird private messages from 2 ladies that have sent me their emails adresses and want to know me better. What the hell is that? I don't think that they felt in love with me because they have seen my forehead, lol. I found this thread and brought it back: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/156075-understanding-shock-loss-definitions-2.html I think this is my case, but not quite sure since my hair felt a lot in the first washing but keeps on falling a lot of but very much lesser than in the first washing: Dr. Ricardo Mejia explaining shock loss cases: 2. Iatrogenic or Doctor induced during hair transplant surgery via transection of the hair shaft during creation of the recipient sites. This is surgical trauma. In this case the hair shaft will fall out immediately in some cases or as early as a month after surgery. It is possible if the hair shaft is cut, the hair follicle will continue to grow in anagen phase without being shifted into a telogen stage. Consequently not all hairs that are surgically traumatized go into telogen. However, patients will lose hair and can look thinner after surgery. Obviously this is of most concern in men and women who have hair and we are transplanting around existing native hairs or repeat transplant procedures. This type of shock loss is not permanent. Then Bill repplied: I am also not convinced that "permanent" shock loss can't occur from transection of the hair follicle. I think if any follicle is damaged enough, it will not grow back. Two respectable opinions and I don't know what to think. I have different opinions in Brazil also: my doctor says this shed will stop in a month more or less but my dermatologist said the hair I lost is probably gone forever. That's why I"m so confused. My avatar is a picture of my hair 20 days before the second HT. Now I have lesser hair than in the picture.
  11. Thanks for your response but did you mean you begin to loose your hair in the day 16 after HT, right? Have you lost hair since day 1 post HT? Is your hair still falling? Because this is my case and I'm worried about this thing beeing a permanent shock loss. I don't care (that much) about loosing hair if it comes back in 2 ,3 or 10 months, But loosing forever is something that bothers me a lot. Specially because all frontal hair I have in the front (before second HT on 06/29) came from the donor area and lossing them is like throwing gold away. Thanks
  12. I apologize for bringing back this old thread but I need some answers about my special situation. I'm not english native and sometimes it's difficult for me to fully understand what is written. What is happening to me is that my hair is falling a lot and it has began immediattely after my second HT and keeps on falling. I'm ont day 18 after HT now. After doing a lot of research ( Idon't know why the search button of this forum leads me to a page that shows ?dvanced search members instead searching in threads or posts) and found this thread that gives me some hope that my shock loss case, it it is really a shock loss case, is not permanent. By the way my doc have said this loss of hair will stop in a month, exactly as Dr Mejia described here: 2. I got all happy when I read this but then Bill got me worried again with his comments: I am also not convinced that "permanent" shock loss can't occur from transection of the hair follicle. I think if any follicle is damaged enough, it will not grow back. Two respectable opinions and I don't know what to think. I'm very anxious with this situation. I can't stand seeing my hair falling this way without knowing exactly what is happening. I have diffrent opinions in my country also: my doctor says my lost hair will come back in a month but my dermatologist said they are probably gone forever. My avatar is a picture of my hair 20 days before the second HT. Now I'm more bald than this. Thanks

  14. Yeah I always have my hair long and after the first HT in November 2007 I let it grow again and never cut. I mean up to June 2010... I cut my hair in June 2010 because I was going to make a second HT which I did (06/29). Sorry but no pictures.
  15. I've had my second HT on June 29th, 17 days ago. Since I first wash my head after the surgery my hair is falling a lot and never stops. I've been reading everything about shockloss but could never found something related to the topic. Should this be shockloss? People says shock loss begins after 15 days to a month after a HT. If it is could it be a permanent shock loss? When will this thing stop? my doctor said in one month but i would like other opinions. Thanks
