  1. Perfect, thank you. Do you know which surgeon took this picture?
  2. Hi, I am trying to find a picture of what a defined number of grafts looks like to help me estimate the number of grafts that I need. For example, I am a picture of 100 transplanted grafts, perhaps with a square drawn around the grafts using a surgical marking pen. It might also be 50 grafts, or 200 grafts, it doesn’t have to be 100, simply a small number of grafts where the graft count is exactly known. I believe that physicians do this for research purposes when they are trying new techniques to determine graft survival. It would really help me have a mental picture of what 100 grafts looks like. Thank you for any help.
  3. I am at 8 months post op and the thin spot in the center is still there. I feel pretty down about it.
  4. Ok, here is a picture that I took a few days ago.
  5. No I don’t want to share pictures. I just wanted to know if anyone else has had this happen.
  6. I had a somewhat small 500 FUE transplant in September to my entire hairline. I am 4 months post op. Things were looking a lot better until a week ago, when I noticed a thinning area in the central hairline. The sides of the hairline are still intact. This central area was also the area that experienced significant shock loss post op. I am very confused. I wrote an email to my surgeon, who is very kind and knowledgeable, and he explained that it’s not uncommon to experience a second shed. I also wanted to ask other patients if anyone here has also experienced a second shed in an area where they previously had post-op shock loss? I am kind of panicking right now, wondering if this area will recover. Normally you would expect that, by 4 months, the waiting game is over, so this has thrown me. Thank you
  7. Where is the full email? Is it on this site somewhere? Thank you.
  8. I believe I am shedding transplanted grafts at 5.5 months post op. The shedding seemed to start at 3 months. Before that I didn't notice hardly any shedding at all. The shed hairs are very long since they have been growing for 5.5 months, and they are also very thick, like an original graft that is very thick and black. The grafts also have that kink in them that is the tell tale sign of a transplanted hair. Much to my surprise, I also shed an actual non-growing graft at 5.5 months post op, meaning a graft that was still sitting there, not growing, very short black kinked hair. Something I would expect to see in month 1 post op. I wish I would have saved it and taken a picture. I was quite surprised to see this now. Has anyone else experienced this delayed shedding of grafts? I think some of my grafts started to grow without shedding, and now they are shedding. I am very hard pressed to make sense of this. I really hope I am not one of those people Emperor mentioned he learned about from Dr. Wong who don't retain grafts. Has anyone else noticed a very delayed cycling of their transplanted grafts? I have only seen one other post here of a person with a similar experience to mine, who started shedding at 8 months, Carra-Legend1, but I am not sure if he is still around as he has only 1 post. any advice or thoughts are most appreciated
  9. Does anyone else here melt their foam in the cap with a space heater or blow dryer and then apply it as a liquid? I have been advised to use the foam to prevent irritation from the propylene glycol in the liquid, but my hair is too long to use the foam as a foam without losing most of it in my hair. So I melt it in the cap and apply it as a liquid using a standard Rogaine liquid dropper. It still dries amazingly fast, so fast I barely know it's on. Anyone else do this?
  10. Has anyone tried combining shampoos? For example, using Tricomin shampoo and nizoral and a volumizing shampoo like Aveeda? I don't know if I'm doing more harm than good. I am worried I might be weighing my hair down with too much residue. I had a transplant 4.5 months ago. Starting a few weeks ago, I starting shedding a lot, and I was only using tricomin shampoo or baby shampoo at that time. I am now trying so many different shampoos to stop the shedding. Right now I use so many shampoos......Body Shop Ginger anti dandruff shampoo, nizoral, Aveeda Volumizing shampoo, Tricomin, Nioxin, LUSH Big, baby shampoo..... Usually I will combine a treatment shampoo (Body Shop Ginger, Nizoral, Tricomin) with a volumizing shampoo (Aveeda, LUSH Big). Then I add a conditioner, either Aveeda or Nioxin Scalp therapy. I have a terrible scalp itch, either from minoxidil, or the Tricomin follicle therapy spray, or dandruff, or over washing my hair, or....you get the idea. I only shampoo once a day. My hair is very dry, so I reduced my nizoral usage, but then my scalp gets unbearably itchy, so I increase my nizoral usage, and then my hair gets dry, and the vicious cycle repeats. Please help with any advice. I'm shedding way too much. Then again, this may all be shock loss? :-(
