  1. That's an interesting question. I've had 3 HT done. I could still stretch and pinch and fold the skin on back of my head. Thus, I assume we all have enough tissue/skin on the back of our heads. I did research this just now, and I couldn't find anything. Searching "long term side effect + FUT + strip method" and got nothing yet. I assume because this method has been done many times over, it is safe enough. Of course if you ran out of donor hairs or spaces to fill in, the doctors won't do it. Of course, there should be limit. Maybe someone else has a saying in this.
  2. Years after the surgery, the risk of "stretching" should be none. I don't know how long you've had the surgery. If you just recently had it, take it easy for a month or two. Don't lift heavy things, that's all. Not until 2 months or so, if you workout with weights. But from my experience of 3 HT via FUT, within a couple of months, like 3 months, the redness is lessen. 4 months to 6, gone. (This might depend on a person.) And after 3 months, heavy weight lifting should be fine. After 6, forget about it. About visible scar, if it should happen, repair of hair transplant donor scar can be done many HT doctors--possibly yours. Some doctors will do it for free because they messed up. Don't know anything about #guard razor or swimming. Wishing you the best.
  3. I use Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo (the new and improved one). And I will continue to use it. It makes my hair feel stronger and shinier. I feel safest with this product.

    My 3 Hair Transplant Procedures

    June 2010 -- HT1 June 2014 -- HT2 June 2016 -- HT3
  5. Costco, if there is one near you. You don't need a membership to go in for their pharmacy. I get 100 count of 5 mg, divided into 4 for $25 which will give you over a year supply.
  6. I would follow all of your assumptions. Thanks for sharing, great concise info. I have the following addition: Assumption #7) During the first week, wear mittens to bed. (I put on thick layers of socks.) So that you don't scratch your recipient area. We often scratch our heads while asleep without realizing, normal reaction.
  7. I've researched it many recommend after the wound healed, --> 2 weeks sound good. Some say even as early as 5 to 7 days. After my 1st HT (4 years ago), I remember I went on it around 5 or 7 days. I just got my 2nd yesterday (6-10-14); this is why I'm back on the forum to browse around and refresh my memory on the experiences. I'm planning to do it again around 5 days--but I'll see how it heals first. Does Using Rogaine (Minoxidil) After Hair Transplant Surgery Arouse Early Hair Growth? | Hair Loss Q & A Can I use minoxidil after a hair transplant? Should I use minoxidil (Rogaine) after my hair transplant?
  8. Levrais is right. I have been using Rogaine Foam immediately *2 weeks* after my surgery, and have not noticed any redness. I even mix (1/2 & 1/2) the foam with a regular minoxidil and apply on the recipient area, and no redness. So, it's safe to say, it's probably not the foam. Anyway, hope you ht turns out well in the coming days. Grow well.
