no worries. By now you should be almost completely healed. So you need to forget about things for a few months because there is generally no growth until 3-4 months post-op. Good luck.

Minoxidil is more for preventing further hair loss than growing hair. If you think it slowed down the progression of your hair loss during those three years than you may want to consider using again . If not, then probably not worth it.

Can you post a few photos of crown and top view of scalp. That would help to determine if crown work was appropriate for you at this time.

This patient in his mid-30’s came to us with a significant amount of hair loss. After several discussions a decision was made and plan was put in place to proceed with multiple FUT procedures. This would yield a higher graft count and offer the ability to preserve the donor area as much as possible. Here he is before and after two FUT procedures of 2808 and 2490. He will return for a third FUT procedure to address the crown.

A clean baseball cap that is adjustable so you can make it a little looser than you normally wear it should do the job. Be prepared because they will make you take of hat when you go thru security.

Definitely need more photos and from different angles to determine how many grafts would be appropriate for your situation. The clearer they the more accurate the estimate will be.

How big is the thinning/bald area in the crown you are looking to have work done in?

Both very good doctors. Not sure where they are going to put 3600 grafts. You look young so try and keep as many grafts in your donor bank as possible for later if needed.

I personally pray for this every night. There are just so many people with significant hair loss that have sub optimal donor hair. To be able to make more follicles with matching DNA creating as much donor follicles as necessary would be a miracle. I wouldn't hold my breathe for this to happen if I were you. Lol

There are many very highly qualified hair restoration physicians around the world. You have to decide if you are willing to travel if necessary or seek out what you feel is the best local doctor. I often tell patients that if they did research to find what they thought to be the 8 best clinics and had a consultation at each, you would eliminate 5 of the clinics immediately for one reason or another and then would have to choose from the remaining three clinics. You likely would use your gut feeling/ instincts to choose your doctor. Good luck!

The scarring also depends on the size of the punch used to perform the FUE procedure as well as the the patients skin type and color.

At 7 months post op you are safe to use those products on your hair. If they are really helping at all in another question.

I agree that 10-14 day of recovery is all that is needed for a patient to have a similar appearance to before the procedure. However, in patients who normally wear longer hair styles it may take longer to return to normal if they have a FUE procedure.

I agree with most of the statements made above and feel that a mega-session should only be considered as a first procedure. Once a patient has scarring from a previous procedure there will be limitations when it comes time for a second procedure. 

I feel that supplements help more for hair quality than quantity. However, improving a patients hair quality can give the appearance of having more hair.

It would be difficult to compare a topical dose to a oral dose because the amount of absorption that occurs can vary from patient to patient.

I recommend avoiding strenuous activity and exercise for 2 weeks. And have no hyper flexion of the neck (chin to chest) for 1 month. This is to try and minimize the tension/ strain in the donor area to minamize scar formation.

Did you ever have any type of treatment like a Kenalog (steroid ) injection to attempt to flatten and shrink the scar?

Usually does happen around 3-4 months post-op. If it is only a few scattered pimples they usually go away in just a few days with proper care. I tell patients if they are getting a bunch all in the same area and there is a general redness around it then they may need to be placed on an antibiotic. I recommend going back to clinic where you had the procedure or at least contact the doctor and send photos.

I think that to determine the number of grafts that could be taken from your donor area you would need to be evaluated in person. 

I just did a suture removal as a courtesy for one of Dr. Bodon's  patients. The donor wounds healed great and the transplanted area also appeared to be healing as expected. 

There are legal issues as well. Certain states have laws that say only the doctor can score the skin. I think it is only a matter of time before all states will have similar laws. I do agree with Melvin that the recipient sites must be made by the doctor as they determine the angle and direction of the hair growth.

There a several very good clinics here in the U.S. Are you strictly going over seas to save money? Keep in mind if things do not go as planned and you had surgery in one of these foriegn countries. The cost of repair might end up costing you more.
