  1. I had no sedation either on both my HT's, just gave me valium to relax me before and the local of course, but never had real pain after the local wore off, never needed to even take a Tylenol.
  2. Hats off to you LondonLad. Not only do you set the bar higher for a new record (maybe) but from your pictures it looks like this is going to be a huge, happy, success story. Was the donor strip removed in several sections? If so, how many? (I'm thinking of the Dr. Rassman's necrosis nightmare in the other post. Obviously you're all healed up by now and well passed that stage)
  3. Black, welcome to the Forum. You have the right idea, get on Finasteride first, keep reading and learning on this forum, Bosley has a very bad rep but it can't hurt going to their free consult to get a perspective, then go visit some of the coalition and recommended clinics to get other opinions. As Mrjb said you might be too young for a HT but after you have done your research you'll have a good idea where you stand. Post your pictures and in a few weeks or even less you'll have a clear idea on your options.
  4. Welcome to the forum Mike. BSpot and Salt&Peppa have given you excellent advice. - Get on Finasteride first, either Propecia or 1/4 Proscar. - Keep reading and learning on this forum to make the best informed decision - Post more pictures of your back and sides (I mean your hair of course ) so we can give you our opinion - You can grow your new transplanted hair as long as you wish and they will not have the short lifespan of your native hair, you will always keep them.
  5. Good point YoungGuy, we certainly make it worse on ourselves ...
  6. Welcome Bald-Georgie, If there is a way to get this show on YouTube or wherever, please let us know. Thanks.
  7. Toad thank you for your play by play account. It seems you will have great result from this surgeon and we are all looking forward to your pictures of before, during and the different stages of after.
  8. Welcome to the forum Mani, Recently Pat (the founder of this forum) reported on a Doc he liked from Pakistan, check the link: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/showthread.php?t=147022
  9. Thanks Pushing 40, Can you get it in a US Pharmacy and what is the generic name?
  10. Anybody? Generic Propecia?
  11. The cheapest option for Finasteride is 1/4 Proscar daily, you can also get the cheaper generic version.
  12. Hi B Spot, What makes his technique different from others?
  13. Welcome to the forum MysteryTrain, - First thing to do is to get back on Finasteride ASAP. You can get Propecia again or the way cheaper option is 1/4 Proscar daily. - I looked at the Bergmann Kord site you linked to, from their pictures the work looks ok but not impressive, they don't seem to do mega sessions but they give almost no detail on their technique ... - Have you thought of DHI? They have a special running in February right now and they offered me $3.00 per hair at their Athens clinic. Caution though as they have bad reviews on this forum, but all their patient reports came from other countries and it seems Athens is the headquarters and houses their "Master Surgeons". - I have not heard anyone reporting here on Bergmann Kord but run a search using the key words you never know. My take on this: - If I were you I'd go get a free consult at DHI to get a feel and learn more about their approach, hopefully you are not far from Athens. They do a "proprietary" technique based on FUE. It would be interesting to know more about it. - Just to be safe and not become a guinea pig I would go to a Coalition or recommended surgeon as listed on our site. Do your research, take your time, get back on Finasteride, the more you learn, the better decision you'll make. Your hairline will be determined between you and your chosen surgeon, if you have several consultations you'll be able to better judge for yourself because everybody has a slightly different take on it. - Post pictures of your hair, you'll get responses from many members.
  14. Welcome FC, Keep reading and posting here you'll get all the answers. The best way is to get Proscar prescribed by your Doc, the generic is even cheaper, you cut it into quarters and it's just pennies a day, it ends up being about 1.25mg Finasteride per day.
  15. Yes, very scary. I believe we have to reserve our judgement until this situation gets resolved because I am sure it will be resolved. Logically a surgeon of the caliber of Dr. Rassman will take care of this situation in the best possible way. Once the smoke clears we'll find out what and how it happened.
  16. I just had my second HT two days ago and I will be reporting in detail here as soon as the Doc gives me all the pics he took. I followed the preop instructions to the letter. I did not do it so well on my first HT and I think this second time I can already see faster healing, more than 50% of the scabs have already disappeared, no pain, no swelling and I did the scalp strectching exercises they really help, I have no tightness whatsoever. It's kind of a chore to do all this preparation but so far it seems to have halved my post op symptoms.
  17. Looking good. Please tell us where your Doc is located and your stats: number of grafts, breakdown, etc ...
  18. What makes you a good or a bad candidate for FUE?
  19. What's the latest buzz on Generic Propecia? I see conflicting reports .... Inquiring minds want to know
  20. George, It sounds like you have done a good amount of research and you are confident in your final choice. Best of luck and if one day you decide it's appropriate let us know how it all turns out. Most of us members are always looking to expand our horizons, finding good Docs to add to our list of recommended and coalition surgeons.

  22. Dr Rahal has been discussed here several times, run a search using his name as a key word and read the posts, you'll be able to judge for yourself.
  23. George, By reading and spending more time on this forum you'll find that most of us are very open minded, recently Pat recommended a Doc from Pakistan I believe it was. We are always looking for talented surgeons we have not heard about, so for you to suggest that we are only considering the already listed Docs is a serious misconception on your part. By listing your Dr name several scenarios might happen: No one has heard of him ... He has had good or bad reviews in the past ... Either way it's a win win situation for you and for us as we expand our knowledge of HT surgeons.
  24. I would start by running a search for the recommended and coalition surgeons. By looking at their web sites and calling you'll be able to judge their experience of African American hair.
