  1. How does the donor area on the sides and back look ? If the "cut" is not showing I think that you native hair you have with the new grafts you will be fine. I had my HT procedure done on November 14th and just got the sutures out yesterday Dec. 3rd because it was a 1.8 cm x 36 donor area cut so when the sutures were in my head you could see them on the sides but the back was covered. Now that the sutures are out I can see the donor area on the right side because that side I guess was thinner than the right and I am looking for something. That is the only reason people could notice I had something done. I guess we will find out with the Christmas party's this weekend and next weekend.
  2. Fusion47, Good luck! Dr. Cooley is awesome and great attention to detail. I had my HT procedure with him on Nov.14 for 4516 grafts and you can not even tell where the grafts he placed if you are not in the business. If you do have your hair cut short on the sides you will be able to see the sutures and the scar until the hair grows more. Good luck and tell Brandi, Amy, Ailene and Dr. Cooley that Tony said HI. I was just there yesterday to have my sutures removed by one of the assistant and that took maybe 20 minutes and no pain again. This group at Dr. Cooley's office are best in class.
  3. My HT Dr. Cooley recommended to me 2.5 mg of FIN M-W-F. Because you are right the 1/4's are for the birds. I have been doing this for 4.5 months at present and will continue this.
  4. Lat, I told you that all would go well and the children would not notice. I think we are they ones that are super sensitive. Guess what I have Thanksgiving dinner at the In-Law (or OUT-LAWs) this week and I will be there for 3 days. And I still have the stitches in until Dec. 3rd. If you really get on me you can see the stitches and the cut ear to ear but maybe I can swing a hat .
  5. I used Rogaine up to the mega session 4516 grafts I had with Dr. Cooley which was a week ago. I was not told to stop the Rogaine at all but to keep using it one time a day along with the FIN 2.5 mg M-W-F.
  6. I just had my HT on November 14th and I was coaching my son's football game the next day. The procedure was awesome not me. On Nov. 21st I had Dr. Cooley's assistant Amy do the post-op scalp cleaning and at that time she and Dr. Cooley said you have not lost any of the 4516 grafts and you can treat it at your normal not transplanted hair. But, which I started doing yesterday but I guess I am a little softer than normal with the towel dry because mental I do not want to get to rough with the new grafts. I to want back to work quickly within one week. Dr. Cooley in Charlotte does AN awesome job and you DO NOT have to shave and that allows the patient to get back to work quicker and it also hides the little stubble grafts. In the end I would call your HT Dr. on his cell. That is what Dr. Cooley told me to do if I needed anything and I bet your doctor wouldn't mind you doing the same because you just spend a couple coins on this procedure. Good luck!
  7. Burf08, Congratulations on the decision with the HT procedure. I just had a 4516 graft procedure with Dr. Cooley in Charlotte, NC on 11/14/08. It was a great experience and they are world class in care and detail and I TOO was nervous the days before the procedure which is normal. But, once you get in the office which will be at about 7am on Tuesday it will all go away once they give you the meds. Truely I had zero pain. I have had more pain going to the dentist BY FAR. Things you will get to do that AM.. *Choose 5 to 7 movies *Choose your lunch *Choose your dinner *And relax and enjoy you don't have to do a thing. We will look for your pictures in the near future.
  8. Bill (Flac), I was told by Ailene at Dr. Cooley's office to split the 5mg of Proscar in 1/2 and take the 2.5mg half pill M-W-F. If you split the little proscar pill in 1/4's it is hard keep them in exact 1/4's. Do you take the 1/4 proscar pills everyday ?
  9. I would go to another world class HT Doctor and do not limit yourself to your location where you live.....which sounds like it is India.
  10. Chops, Have you met with a world class HT doctor yet ? If not I would asap. Are you taking any medicines (FIN and Rogaine) to help stop the hair loss ? I was a NW5 and just had approximately 4500 FUT's last week and I wanted to be proactive not completely reactive with my hair loss problem.
  11. Dr. Cooley said to start with Rogaine 3 days after the HT procedure. And I am 4 days out at present from my HT and that is what I did. Just 1 ml a day just like before the HT.
  12. Stardance and Livingalie, I am live in Greenville,SC and I had Dr. Cooley in Charlotte, NC just do my 1st and maybe last HT on November 14th. If you have any questions or would like to meet with me just PM me. Dr. Cooley, Ailene, Brandi and Amy are AWESOME!!
  13. Livingalie, Bosley's TV ad's got me interested in HT's. So, I called them and made an appointment with them in April of 2008 in Atlanta, GA. I went to meet with "salesman consultant first" and he did the pictures and the analysis of my hair and then I had to ask for to meet the doctor which may have been the doctor what would have done the HT but they have 3 or 4 there I was told that would do it and I did not like that at all. The gave me a quote which was HIGH and for only 2500 grafts. I was a NW5. Because I did not have the warm feeling about them I googled HT doctor's and found two that sounded good. Dr. Griffin in Atlanta which didn;t return my call until I called 3 times which was a turn off. And I called Dr. Cooley's office in Charlotte, NC. I met with Ailene the Clinical assistant to Dr. Cooley and also met with Dr. Cooley and this was on July 15, 2008. Well on November 14, 2008 I had Dr. Cooley's team do my HT and I had over 3500 grafts placed and it was a awesome and VERY great experience. They know what they are doing and the know how to take care of the patient. I would meet with Dr. Cooley and Ailene in Charlotte, NC well before wasting your time with Bosley. All there money goes to TV ad's which are very expensive. Dr. Cooley's advertising are his patients and happy ones talk. And I am only 4 days post-op. Good luck and do not wait if you would like to get a HT done. Tony
  14. I use Nizoral 1% three to four times a week. And then normal shampoo nothing special the other days. That is what Dr. Cooley's team suggested.
  15. Yes and yes. Also, get on Propecia and Nizoral 1% or 2% shampoo. You should meet with a High level HT doctor like Dr. Cooley out of Charlotte, NC and they will tell you what you should do and give you a plan of attack to stop the hair loss.
  16. Chat_koool, I just had my HT procedure last Friday November 14th and it was a awesome experience. Which I can not believe I am saying it because I was questioning my decision to have this done even the morning of the HT. I had my HT with Dr. Cooley.... 1. They gave me a notebook of over a hundred movies to watch I picked 5 and they picked 2. I have NEVER watched 7 movies in one day. I did sleep thru half of one remember the TITANs. Meet the Parents was a good one also. 2. Where jogging pants and a button down shirt but they will give you a medical shirt that ties in the back. 3. And about the smoking STOP NOW...it is NOT good for you and your NEW hair . Good luck, Tony
  17. I am 3 days out from post-op and I have be wearing a cap when out in public from the time I was given out from Dr. Cooley. Just need to put the saran wrap over the new graphs. Dr. Cooley gave me some shampoo and conditioner in my post-op bag called Folligen Therapy Shampoo and Folligen Therapy conditioner. I was told that I could do light cardio 7 days post-op. Hope that helps.
  18. Crown Royal, I think you can do it. People are so nosey any way. And what are they going to do with the info. I would a least tell the GF and the woman of your son. But, to the rest of the people you may want to let them know after the 12 month period and all is good. Or do not say. Because other wise they...the guys could be like you spent all this money and nothing to show for a super rare reason that the HT does not produce the results. Also, I know a guy that had a low sperm count and did he advertise it to his whole group of friends and co-worker no. You have every right to be private with personal issues.
  19. Just curious...how much did the 4K graphs cost with Dr. Feller ?
  20. Check with Dr. Cooley in Charlotte,NC his pricing is very fair and he and his team are outstanding individuals. I would say best in CLASS.
  21. Lat, I am a NW 5 and am 2 days post-op and I have just been wearing a hat with the saran wrap when they have been awake. And I have 8 year old triplets and a 5 year old. Also, 12 hours after my HT I was coaching my kids football game and the wind was blowing 20mph and I was like this is going to be embrassing but the hat stayed on and all was good. And today one of my 8 year old daughters has a horse show and I wore the hat with the saran wrap and all was good. That is my two cents. And my wife just looked at my graphs and she said there is hardly any redness and I am only 2 days out from the procedure. So, I do not think you have anything to worry about. Good luck!! It is a fun procedure. At least it was with Team Cooley in Charlotte, NC. They treat you like a KING. And I was in the chair for almost 17 hours.
  22. Edge and New2thissite, Dr. Cooley gave me a hour by hour, day by day plan. This is what I was told by the great Cooley Team. * 2 tylenol 500 mg every 4 hours * 1 Meperidine 50 mg (for pain) every 4 to 6 hours if needed. I have been taking it just so that any pain does not start in the donor area. (I have 20 of them) * 3 Pills of Prednisone 20mg for day 1, 2 pills for day 2 and 1 pill during day 3. * 1 Keflex 500 mg twice a day (I have 14 of them). * 1 Valium 10 mg at bedtime (I have a total of 10 of them). *Vaso Dialator Spray use 4 times a day for 3 days. *Regenexel gel in a spray bottle apply every hour until it runs out. *Neosporin to the donor area in the AM and in the PM. * 5X Laser hair treatment once in the AM and once in the PM for 15 minutes each time. *start using the Rogaine 5% on day 3 since the HT procedure. *On day 7 go back to Dr. Cooley and have them scrub the scabs away. *At the 14 day period have the stitches removed. That is what I was given. But I guess all good doctors have the own post-op game plan.
  23. Stardance, Hello! I just had a HT procedure with Dr. Cooley November 14th. His office is just 1:40 minutes from my house. He and his staff and world class. If you have any questions you are welcome to PM me. If I was you are were thinking of a HT call Ailene at Dr. Cooley's office and schedule an appointment to see what they say and if you qualify for a HT procedure. Take care, Tony
