  1. Hi all. I was listening to the radio earlier at work, when i heard the news headline: 'botox maybe the cure for baldness' Im sure alot of you guys probably have heard about this before and its probably even been discussed on here before. I was just wondering what everyone thought and if anyone had done any serious research into it?? here is a link to an article from the UK newspaper the telegraph which is considered to be a very realiable source of media. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/hea...re-for-baldness.html
  2. Hi all, I have been on finateride for about 5 months now, not really noticing that much in the way of growth, but i do have fairly long hair, so it probably is hard to notice. Anyway, i was wondering, has anyone here had any problems with finasteride affecting there skin, I keep getting rashes, my face is rather blochy recently and i keep getting little red spots on my face (not so much around the hairline). My skin has been really great for about 2 years now, so this is kind of frustrating, as i have to worry about it how as well as my hair. I take approx 1.25mg per day. To be honest im not sure if it is the drug, but i have no idea what else it could be, its only started happening about 4 months in, but like i said my skin was always great before. Has anyone heard of finasteride doing stuff like this before? Also any ideas on what i could do. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys, luke

  4. hi I take finasteride in the mornings daily, and most weekends usually end up having a few drinks. I have been on finasteride for 3 months now and have not really experienced any side effects really, even when drinking. The only thing i am a little concerded about is the effects taking both alchol and finasteride may have on my liver. Does anyone know about this at all?? I am due a check up with my hair consultant in the next week or so, ill ask then as well. thanks luke
  5. hey My hair consultant has put me on finasteride, 5mg tablets i belive split in to 1/4s, so 1 tablet lasts me 4 days obviously. I have a pill cutter which to be honest is rubbish! The tablets are really small as well and its hard to get them, accuratly cut into decent quaters! Does it matter if i take slightly incosistant doses from day to day. I mean they are not usually that different but on rare occasions i cut one really be bad and as i have to pay for it i dont wanna waste any really. Anyone else took them this way and found a decent way to take them? any advice would be great. Finally is it ok to drink alchol on finasteride, im only a weekend drinker really, but on some occasions i may end up drinking a fair bit. I havent noticed any side effects of it so far. just wondering about my liver and all that. cheers thanks luke
  6. Hey I have been to a hair clinic today, and the conslant there confirmed i do indeed have the male baldness pattern. I am only just 18 and too young for any kind of transplant. so he has suggested finasteride. If i go with this, it will be in 5mg tablets which i should cut into quarters, so i am getting just over 1mg per day. I just want to know from anyone who has personal or medical experience of the drug, to tell me how this sounds what are the most liketly side effects and do they go away? And also how it worked well for you? thanks luke
  7. Hello im new here and am really hoping for some advice... I have always Had A fairly Large Forehead with quite a far back hair line for an average person, but it was always quite thick. I fist noticed my hair starting to thin when i was 16, but i didnt really think much of it as it was a rare side effect of an achne drug i was prescribed, my dermatologist said any hair thinning would stop as soon as i finish the course. I have now just turned 18 and its never stopped. if anything its getting worse. Its hard now to make out my hair line and its starting to thin behind it towards my crown area? At the moment im managing to hide it with a longish kinda fringe look. which most people my age seem to have anyway but its only getting worse and i would say most of the hair loss has been in the last 6 months. unfortunately most of the males in my family are bald, but none of the lost there hair before 30 which i would be able to deal with. I really cant deal with loosing all my hair at this age, I live fairly close to london in quite a fashion/nightlife kinda society which makes it even worse in a kind of way, because it is really screwing with my confidence. I have an appointment with my local doctor, but i recon he will just send me to another dermatologist or something. What if any other routes can i take, am i too young for a transplant? thanks for anyhelp luke
