"While FUE has initially been done by the extraction of follicular units with hand-held devices that are subject to the user’s skill, now with advances in technology, FUE can be performed using the ARTAS robotic system. The robot allows for a seamless and consistent harvest over the entire donor scalp. The accuracy and consistency of the robot is due to artificial intelligence and feedback mechanisms that have been continually improved over the past ten years."

This patient had a Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) to restore his frontal hairline and add volume to the front part of his scalp. He decided to have an FUT (rather than FUE) procedure to get as much volume in one session as possible. He does not plan on keep his hair very short on the back and sides, so the fine linear scar from FUT will not be an issue. Results after one session of 2,009 follicular unit grafts with a donor density of 2.2.

Bernstein Medical’s Scalp Micro-Pigmentation (SMP) program is now in full-swing. The program is led by hair restoration surgeon Dr. Christine Shaver and SMP specialist Jennifer Oakley.
