Senior Member bezane Posted April 2, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted April 2, 2006 So, a week until I blast off to Tucson for a HT. While I've gone through a couple of procedures before, I've never flown after. Dr. says to not fly for 24 hrs. after surgery. How about other concerns like airport security? Do they make you strip in front of everyone? Then evryone stares at you like the elephant man? Some experiences in this matter might be insightful. Or should I change plans and drive the six hours? Senior Member hairbank Posted April 3, 2006 Senior Member Share Posted April 3, 2006 bezane, Congrats on your appt. next week and best of luck to you. I've never heard of waiting 24 hours before flying. Having recently gone to H&W I flew back the next day, I suppose around 18 hours post-op, no worries. As long as your careful about not hitting your head, you'll be fine. For me, airport security was no problem. I had staples, too, and I'd heard about them setting of the detector but mine didn't. Plus........I had to go through border security, which you won't, and again no big deal. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
