Regular Member Joe Transplant Posted September 27, 2003 Regular Member Share Posted September 27, 2003 Vocor, (Actually, this is for anyone with propecia experience.) I know you've had some great results with Propecia, and was wondering about the shedding. How bad was/is it, and during the shedding phase, did your hair look thinner? or did you just notice more hair on the pillow. I've never been one to really take meds, so any additional personal info you may have on side effects would be great. Thanks.

Senior Member Teddw2ds Posted September 27, 2003 Senior Member Share Posted September 27, 2003 Hey Joe, I can answer that also. I've been on Propecia (or Proscar, which is the same active ingredient) for almost 4 years now. I experienced no shedding phase whatsoever. Some people don't. In fact, I don't even think this is a common side effect. I did experience some diminished libido, but this didn't last very long at all... maybe a month at most. That's about the only side effect I experienced and that was very minor. So much so that I can't conclusive attribute it to the medication. It may have just been coincidental. But it was right about the time I started taking Propecia. Tedd
vocor1
Joe: I didn't have any shedding whatsoever. I was lucky, I guess, to avoid shedding and see regrowth. The regrowth was mild, but certainly noteworthy and with my hair longer now, the crown isn't too much of a concern any more. I also side stepped the loss of libido. My libido skyrocketed for a while and remains pretty high, I'd say. I guess I'm healthy. vocor1 Knowledge is Power If the worst question is the one never asked, then the worst answer is the one never shared.
