Senior Member FinallyHT Posted May 6 Senior Member Share Posted May 6 I am day 155 of my post hair transplant of 2,400 grafts. The grafts inserted on the frontal area, or where there was no hair before have grown in. But I am not seeing grafts that were transplanted down the vertex- among the existing hairs to add more density. Same with the grafts inserted in the crown to thicken up the crown area. I know it takes longer for grafts to grow in the crown area. Is the general rule that moving back from the hairline, it takes longer for transplanted hair grafts to grow in? Age: 40 Hairloss began at age 23. Oral Finasteride 1mg daily since 2006, Topical Minoxidil since 2012. Hair transplant 3,400 grafts 2019. Second hair transplant 2,400 grafts in 2023. Senior Member Shadman Posted May 6 Senior Member Share Posted May 6 @FinallyHT yes for the the crown area it can take upto 15 months for the full growth. 𝐄𝐮𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐱 / 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐡 / 𝟏𝟖𝟎𝟑𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐬 / 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 / 𝐁𝐚𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝

Moderators Al - Moderator Posted May 6 Moderators Share Posted May 6 One possibility: Transplanting hair into areas that already have some hair can seem to take longer to grow than areas that were transplanted where no hair was growing because you get some shock loss of the hair that was already there in the thinning areas. At 5 months where you are now, the hairline hair where there wasn't anything may be growing in nicely, but the other areas may look like they are just getting back to what it was pre transplant because the hair that was shed is just growing back along with the transplanted hair.
