Dr Raghu Reddy - 2700 Graft FUE

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Long time lurker, I have an upcoming fue appointment with Dr Reddy in a couple weeks so just wanted to share a little about myself and whats planned incase it helps anyone, I was in a similar situation and a lot of these posts helped me.

Grafts: 2200 was initially recommended but I pushed for higher as the rough area of coverage is 50cm/2 so 2700 was agreed. This is very approximate, this may change by quite a lot as I haven't been seen in person. A 2 day procedure has been set

Age/Medication: I'm 27 and have been on finasteride orally since 22, i've also been using topical minoxidil for a year but haven't really seen any change

Hairloss history: My situation isnt typical. Always had a high hairline, due to delayed puberty, I was taking high dose testosterone injections from 15-17, which I believe rapidly accelerated my hairloss. From the age of 18 I have been documenting any hairloss in the crown and hairline using pictures/videos but havent really seen any changes. Even though I hadnt seen much hairloss since coming off the testosterone injections, I decided to take finasteride as a precautionary measure.

No hairloss in my crown region, family history is mixed - fathers side is a range of NW3-NW6 in their 50s, mother's side has no hairloss (NW2 at 60). I am mixed ethnicity of white/asian.

Hairline design: Very average slight recession look, placement is directly above forehead muscle and would roughly match the "rule of thirds" look

I decided to go with Dr Reddy as I had been following his work since I was 18, in my opinion he is one of the best and price wasn't an issue. Now that I am older, i feel like it is the right time to finally address it.

Thanks for reading, I'll attach some very rough hairline designs that were agreed over video call with Dr Reddy (once again a very rough design this may change) i'll keep this thread updated with monthly updates after the procedure. Any tips are also appreciated

It will be fire 🔥...Dr Reddy is the cheaper UK equivalent of Dr Munib who is currently killing the hairline.

Keep up posted and I am scheduled with Dr Reddy in July for my 2nd.

How many grafts?

1500 grafts to fill the gaps and Dr Reddy is cheaper than what I paid at the indian hairmill

Reddy is a great choice. A few questions...

1. How did you get to that 2700 number? I think that number of grafts will provide a great result, but I am curious as to how you came up with that number.

2. How was your online consultation? I have an online consultation with Dr. Reddy and I am wondering if you have any advice on how to maximize it. I wish I could see him in-person, but I do not live in the UK.

3. How long after your consultation was the procedure date?

Thanks in advance. Again, I think you made a great choice.

1) I just have seen a lot of posts on here/reddit for similar procedures, and knowing what kind of density i was looking for I thought 2200 might be a little low, so I brought it up with Dr Reddy and the practice manager afterwards, he then came back and suggested 2700 in another call which I agreed with. I think this number may change but i'm happy to pay extra if it ends up being more grafts.

2) yeah it was very laid back, he was just asking about family history, medications, etc. I think to maximise the time just try to show & tell him exactly what you want and ask anything you are unsure about

3) I had my video call in mid Feb, and then after arranging grafts/deposit amounts the first appointments were in early May so just a couple months of waiting. You could probably ask to be told of cancellations to make it quicker but I needed some time to arrange annual leave

thanks bro!

I wouldn't compare the two to be fair

When is your surgery date? Please keep us updated after the transplant. 2700 grafts should fill in that area nicely.
