Regular Member Xhant Posted April 24 Regular Member Share Posted April 24 Hello! I just want to share with you guys my hair transplant and also just want to ask your opinion on it. Brief background of me. -33 years old -hair loss started at age 19 -NWIII -have been taking 1mg finasteride for 2 years -used to take tropical minoxidil for 5 years and stop before hair transplant and haven’t take it since then At first I am happy with the hair transplant procedure, I was healing very fast, at day 7 all my scabs are gone. At 1st month the shedding hasn't started yet. So I was hoping I am one of the very very lucky ones that did not experience shedding. Lol Then at 5th week the shedding started and continue until month 2. At 3rd month still at ugly duckling stage. At 4th month I can see little growth, hair starting to go out but still at ugly duckling stage. Now at 5th month there is some growth but I am a little bit concern about the density. Though I know every one is different but I see a lot of people at month 5 with very dense hair. I don’t know if I am a slow grower. I just want to know your opinion guys. Attached are the pictures from surgery day up to present day. Thank you. IMG_9595.mov
Regular Member Ehayat Posted April 24 Regular Member Share Posted April 24 It's a little strange you shed so much 3 months in and after 5 months the density is still very weak. Did you contact the clinic? I'm one month in from Dr Turan and I've not shed much at all so far. Hopefully you will start to accelerate soon! Regular Member Xhant Posted April 24 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 24 At 3rd month I send them my pictures and they said that everything looks right on track. But I am bit worried because of the slow progression, I was expecting that around 4-5 months I will see big difference. Now approaching 6 months still the density is still weak. I am really hoping that I will accelerate soon. Same with you at 1 month I did not shed at all, then at 5th week shedding starts and almost all the transplanted hair shed. Goodluck on your journey! Regular Member mxnprettynice Posted April 25 Regular Member Share Posted April 25 My hair transplant from Dr. Turan turned out great. However, I would recommend microneedling if you want to see faster progress. @Xhant

Senior Member SeanT1 Posted April 25 Senior Member Share Posted April 25 Looks normal for 5 months honestly. Maybe you lag behind a little slower (by a month), but this is still common. I wouldn't worry at all. You look like where I was at 4 months;

Regular Member Xhant Posted May 22 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 22 This is my 6 months update. Still worried about the density. 😢. Envy those who have great density at 6 months. But will patiently wait, hoping to see massive difference in the next few months.
Regular Member baldingbosnian Posted May 22 Regular Member Share Posted May 22 (edited) See my story. Dr. Turan did a mediocre job on me as well. He should no longer be recommended. Your density should be a lot more visible and thicker at 6 months. Edited May 22 by baldingbosnian
Moderators Al - Moderator Posted May 24 Moderators Share Posted May 24 It doesn't look so bad when styled normally. I can see some improvement over the last month. However when you pull it back it does look thinner than I would like to see at this point. Please update up again at month 7, so we can see any improvements. Regular Member BeardedArbor Posted May 24 Regular Member Share Posted May 24 Your progress seems to have improved, particularly month 4 to 5, but there was still some progress from month 5 to 6. I really want to see this turns out over the next 2-3 more months as you seem to be growing in spurts. Hoping there's a big leap from month 6 to 7, or 7 to 8. I agree with another poster here that you incorporate microneedling if you haven't done so already. Even a basic dermaroller should help out a bit. Regular Member Xhant Posted May 25 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 25 Praying that there is a big improvement on the next coming months. I am really worried with this progress. Hoping I am just a slow grower. I will try derma roller hoping it will help the progress.

You may traumatise the area and affect the growth of your grafts with micro micro needling...i would you suggest to use minoxidil 5% instead twice per day. Have you talked with @FUECAPILAR about that ?
Regular Member Xhant Posted May 25 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 25 I started minoxidil yesterday. Hopefully it will boost the hair growth in the coming months. I sent them my 6 months update. I told them I was worried. Here is there response: Hi Ronnel, thank you for the 6-month update. There is still a lot of hair waiting to reach the surface, easy to say but this needs patience, we are just halfway through the final results. How are you doing with the medication? (Finasteride, Minoxidil)
Regular Member BaldGuy Posted May 25 Regular Member Share Posted May 25 You should have started minoxidil from the end of first month..but anyway you can start now too...You could also take biotin 1000 mg. I see..So The only thing you can do now is to be patient until the 12 month. Take your hairloss therapies, vitamins and avoid derma roller which can damage the scalp. Regular Member Xhant Posted May 25 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 25 I was using minoxidil for the past 5 years prior to my hair transplant, I stop it before the transplant. I thought that there is no need to use it on the transplanted hair and I dont want it to be dependent on it. And it’s hard to use topical minoxidil. But I am back now on using it and hoping for some magic to happen.
