Well guys, I did it, I took the plunge. We were shooting for 4000 grafts and ended up with 3940. Very close to our mark. I believe the breakdown was approximately 600-1s, 2340-2s and 1000-3s. Everything was either placed in the hairline or the crown. I was in the chair for approximately 10 and 1/2 hours which makes for a very long day. All went according to planned and I am recovering well and I am already back at home.

My experience with the Rahal Clinic was a very good one. As those of you who have been there know, Dr Rahal, Adrian and all of their staff are first class. I arrived at the office at around 6:30 AM and met with Adrian to fill out the necessary paperwork. The paperwork was very thorough and informed me of all of the risks associated with the procedure. There was virtually nothing left out. After the paperwork was completed, I then met with Dr Rahal to discuss the plan of attack. We discussed my expectations and then proceeded to make the plan. We tailored the plan to accommodate potential future loss of native hair. After that, it was over 10 hours in the chair. I was taken care of between watching several movies, listening to music (Dr Rahal has good music taste) and conversing with his wonderful staff. It made the day much smoother. They also fed me lunch and gave me plenty to drink. The procedure was very comfortable.

After the procedure, Dr Rahal got me some dinner and took me back to my hotel. The first night I was sore but Dr Rahal gave me some good pain meds to take care of that. When I woke up the next day, The pain had subsided considerably. I only have slight tenderness now. I had my follow up the next day which went well. Dr Rahal looked me over real well and determined that things went as we had planned. I then had a nice conversation with Adrian while waiting for my taxi to the airport. I then took my care package they had prepared for me and headed out.

Overall my experience was fantastic. I would highly recommend Dr Rahal and his staff. Other than being caught up in immigration, there was nothing I would change about the trip. I would like to thank Dr Rahal, Adrian and all of their staff for making me feel so comfortable. Also, I would like to thank this discussion forum and its members for helping me get educated on the HT process and the list of reccomended Drs. Without this site, I am sure I would have ended up in a hair mill. I will be posting my blog within a couple of weeks with pics. As for now, I will continue to nurse myself here at home. Clint

Congrats!

I am 10 weeks post op with Rahal myself.

By the sounds of things everything went well. Get some rest. For me the best day was when the stitches came out.

The first couple of months can be frustratiing appearance wise, but we are all in this for the long run.

Take care.

Congrats Clint!!

Sounds consistent with all of our experiences witht the good Dr. Rahal. Now, just sit back and muster up all the patience you have in you. The next two months will go by slower than any you have ever experienced as you heal. So, go and get a bunch of new books and mags, rent a TV series you have always wanted to watch, and get some new movies and heal up.

Keep us informed and updated as we would love to track your progress.

Happy Healing,

Eman

after you do all the things eman suggests you'll still have months to go. start making a list of big projects to do or things that you never had the time to do. believe me you will have plenty of stay home days & idle time. paint the house, organize the garage, back up your computer, fix that thing that driving you nuts, learn a new language, work on your gut...

once you have hair & the ladies smiling at you you just won't have the time for those things icon_cool.gif
