Regular Member Chka Posted January 23 Regular Member Share Posted January 23 (edited) Finally after years of research got my transplant done. Having follow Dr Yamans work with higher norwoods I was convinced to go for it. The initial consultation via WhatsApp it was agreed 4500grafts package. On the actual day Dr Yaman assessed the donor area and advised approx 4600 would be achievable and following extractions it was concluded with 4800 taken and implanted. The process itself, I started of by liasing with Dojan for consultation on my suitability and arranging dates for procedure. I travelled with family for a few days break and the clinic agreed to accommodate me for procedure within my stay dates. On the day of procedure was collected early morning 8AM. At the clinic was greeted by Doja and taken for bloods, following which had consultation with Dr Yaman where the donor area is assessed, draft hairline drawn and realistic expectations discussed, I wanted high mature hairline with frontal third coverage, Dr advised 4k grafts cover hairline and midscalp and the addition used to spread across the crown, pics taken, head shaved, changed into procedure gown and taking to operation room. Extraction process - this begins with the anastethic, slight discomfort from the needles but if you can handle dentist jabs you'll be fine. I was more uncomfortable with the lying face down. Once the jabs are given the extraction began in same position face down, to get to some areas the technicians needed me to adjust with forehead on the circle you put your head through. This was for me the most uncomfortable part in extractions process. After extraction was taken for food, met another bloke in there who had travelled from Canada 🇨🇦, after lunch was taken back to operation room where Dr Yaman creates the hairline, you get to see it and discuss how you would prefer, after this Dr Yaman gave the anastethic at the front, again nothing more than a sharp scratch. Following this the incisions were made. The implementation process than began with the technician team approx 2/3 techs this was a long process and I was there till around 10pm/ish but I did have a huge area for coverage. Bandaged donor, was then given advice on after care and will be going back today for first wash. Overall experience wise, the staff were really good, the injections was dreading as came across other reviews but their not that bad actually, if you've had a dentist numming of teeth it's that level but if like me you've experienced biopsies the prp is like that but both sets of jabs nowhere near the level of pain when you have a bone marrow done 😆 that still is my most painful experience. Will post my pics below, any advice on sleeping/aftercare will be much appreciated. E.g when can you wash your head under shower as normal? When can you sleep any side? Has anyone used biotin, sawpalmetto, collagen, instead of minoxidil and finasteride? Edited January 23 by Chka

Regular Member wembley Posted January 23 Regular Member Share Posted January 23 Happy growing the work looks great. You had a huge area to cover so keep in mind that You will also need a second procedure for crown and touch up on the frontal zones. During the day of your hair transplant you met another guy who was having a hair transplant, so you were 2 patients in total?

My transplant was scheduled for a different date, I understand they do not book more than 2/3 patients a day and not everyday is "operation day" but my situation was different which I explained to the representative even though was given few dates as options for the future as we(family) were over here from last week going back wed/Thursday night flight. Would have been difficult to flyback again anytime soon, they managed to fit me in on Monday with 2others, I met one in the cab on way back to accomadation. Second session would require 2k grafts but would need assessing in approx 12 months time to see state of donor area. Was not told about using beard coverage.

Regular Member Chka Posted January 26 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 26 (edited) Day 4/5 - I feel tight on the scalp and donor areas and get tingly feeling around hairline, like the grafts are coming apart type of feeling but not seen any actually fallen out, is this all normal? Also my top jaw has gone funny soft can't bite, will that be to do with the swelling? Edited January 26 by Chka

Regular Member Chka Posted March 22 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 22 This is after 2 months, donor a bit patchy not sure if this is down to shock loss, top of head did not fully shed and got spots/pimples not sure if this is positive progress at this stage.

Regular Member LikeAJungle Posted March 23 Regular Member Share Posted March 23 It's probably shock loss and the pimples are normal. I went through the same exact same stage as you are at the moment. My donor did not fully heal in month 2.
