nordic85
Hi Everyone, I am a 37 y/o male, based in Mumbai, and I'm considering to get my first HT next month. I'm a newbie here and hence seek advice from the senior members on the most important decision - choosing the surgeon! A bit of background about myself - My hair loss started around 10-12 yrs back and really aggravated maybe 7-8 yrs back. Of late it seems to have slowed down (not stopped), and I have a very long history of hair loss on the paternal side. I have never taken any medications yet. Over the last few months, I've been seriously considering getting a HT done and have met with Dr. Bhatti (Darling Buds; interaction wasn't great and its a straight no) and Dr. Somesh (Eugenix). On a physical eval Dr. Somesh suggested that I'd need around 2500 grafts for the front and mid (part) and temple sections. And medications for thickening the crown. I'm sharing my pictures below along with some markings done by Dr. Somesh. I'd really appreciate everyone's opinion and suggestions on the approach and also whether Eugenix would be a good choice (and also which Surgeon. Dr. Bansal and Sethi are way above my budget) Thank you!

My first procedure was conducted by him back in 2020, In which my density was very low also donor was over harvested. Six months back I had my repair procedure by Dr. Somesh. So far, I would say that my progress is quite Satisfactory. In my opinion, In terms of quality work, Eugenix has no competitors in India. So, if you're considering Eugenix, you're good to go. nordic85
Thanks @Shadman. Yes, Dr. Bhatti was a clear no-go. But I'm confused with Eugenix too. Over the past 2-3 days, I've shown my pics to Dr. Laorwong as well. Acc to him, I'll need about 4000 grafts for the front, mid and temples, while Eugenix had suggested ~2500 grafts for the same portion. That's a big difference. I'm concerned if it would impact density. Ideally I'd want a super dense frontal hairline. Most of the Eugenix's HTs I've seen have good density but not great. Seeking opinions from other senior members as well I understand your point completely. Eugenix follows an ethical approach always. They'll never implant more than it requires. I think with 3000 grafts you would get great result. But Tbh 4000 grafts would be a big number for that area. At the end, it would be your decision completely. But one thing I can suggest that, you can ask them whether they're ready to implant more and make it more densed. 𝐄𝐮𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐱 / 𝐃𝐫. Seeking opinions from other senior members as well Eugenix always opt for the conservative approach. 2500 Grafts will give you decent frontal coverage. I guess, Eugenix is not touching your crown and they want medication to do that job. Since you are from Mumbai, you can opt for Eugenix as it will save your time and travel. Dr Laorwong, is a good doctor and 4000 grafts which he recommended is for complete coverage including front and crown.

The crown will need a second HT if meds don't work

Seeking opinions from other senior members as well For covering front and full mid scalp with decent density plus temples you will need 4k grafts....with 2.5k grafts you can do temples plus front and a bit of mid scalp... If you can't afford dr bansal and wanna go with lower packages than there are some other good doctors you can consider...take your time and consider all the options and do consultations with them and thn take your decision..
