Senior Member FinallyHT Posted October 31, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted October 31, 2023 According to this doctor in the video, dutasteride works better for the front and middle of the scalp while finasteride works better for the crown. is that true? If so, does it make sense to use both? Age: 40 Hairloss began at age 23. Oral Finasteride 1mg daily since 2006, Topical Minoxidil since 2012. Hair transplant 3,400 grafts 2019. Second hair transplant 2,400 grafts in 2023.
Regular Member 12345 Posted October 31, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted October 31, 2023 if you are tolerating an anti dht med as it stands, i dont think adding another one to the pot is wise.
Regular Member OleBaldy Posted October 31, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted October 31, 2023 There is so much conflicting information. It is hard to disseminate between what is actually right and wrong. The stand true of many pharmaceutical interventions not just HT or hair loss problems. The value of this group is consensus real pics, and information is more valuable.
Regular Member BackFromTheBrink Posted October 31, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted October 31, 2023 I'm not sure why that would be the case. They both reduce DHT, but dutasteride more than finesteride. That reduction is what should enhance the crown, so dutasteride should offer at least the same benefit as finesteride.
