Going to Istanbul on 9/1 until 9/15. Do I still have time to book a HT?

Recommended Posts

I will be going to Turkey for a vacation, will be there from 9/1 until 9/15. Was thinking to get a HT done there in the last days of my trip (why not, right?).

Can I theoretically get the consultation and everything done in the next week or so, and be ready for the operation at a good clinic in the last days of my trip?

I'm a male, 35, NW2. Budget is $5k-$7k. I have thick, dark middle eastern hair. My donor hair is solid.

Also, what clinics do you recommend? I heard HLC is good.

Also - I live in San Diego. Should I just go somewhere in Mexico, like Tijuana? I've heard good things about Dr. Nader.

This isn’t the best way to plan a hair transplant, and it wouldn’t be a great vacation having to take care of It post op.

Always better to plan who will be best for you’re particular needs, and convenience isn’t high on the list, as mentioned above the better choices will be booked up leaving poor clinics/hair mills.

Better to get some consulting done from the better options, but definitely don’t just stick to Turkey/Istanbul.
And yes Dr Nader is definitely a very good choice, he has a growing waiting list, but if you are only NW2 then there’s no rush to do anything right now.

Just my opinion but I would say enjoy you’re vacation and keep researching those Drs/Clinics!

12 months is needed to see the result though, which Clinic/Dr have you chosen?

I'll go to Dr.Mesut Demir at Pure Line Clinic. I watched a few videos and talked to some patients on Facebook. They only perform one case per day, which is a bit different from other Turkish clinics. This video was also effective in my decision.

Sure can you share some poorer results? This is not marketing, I spoke to the patient one-on-one. Also I met 5 different patients from hair loss facebook groups. I haven't seen a worse result, but I would be very happy if you share it.

@AliJ.They are known for poorer results too, the video is marketing of course, however it’s good you actually sought out to speak to some patients.
Have you looked access the forums, Reddit etc for actual patient posted journeys?

Look on Reddit for example, links are not allowed here on the forum.

I've searched again now but couldn't find it any negative reviews on Reddit. Could you be confusing it with another clinic?

No definitely not confusing them with anyone else, search the name on here and as far as I can see we don’t have a completed journey yet. 12 months patient posted results are what’s needed.
Anyway I don’t want to derail this thread in talking about one specific clinic, please do create you’re own thread when you have had you’re procedure 👍

I'll share my process. I really did a lot of research so I was curious. Thanks anyway!

Do not rush into an HT. Take your time. Consult with FUECapilar, Dr. Bicer, Dr. Yaman, to name a few. But don’t feel compelled to do surgery because you’re on vacation.

You won't be able to get a hair transplant in Turkey over the next couple of weeks because any surgeon in Turkey worth their salt will be booked out for months. You have to ask your self why some are booked out months in advance and others can 'fit you in' with only two weeks notice? Do lots of research. All the best!

@DavolaJoe

I'd like to explain how surgery is approached

—> As a first step, you should address the underlying cause of your hair loss...even if you undergo surgery, if your hair loss continues, then you will be in the same state again soon...surgery won't solve your hair loss problem...

It is therefore important to consult a good doctor who is more familiar with hair loss and begin medication. This can stabilize, slow down, or reverse your hair loss...this is the key to a successful outcome...to reap the benefits of medication, you need to take it religiously for the full 12 months and then reassess your situation and plan accordingly.

—>In addition to taking medication, you should also educate yourself. You can use this 12 month period to research more about hair transplant surgery, learn more about the whole process, and understand the nuances. Research good doctors around the world and shortlist around 4-5 doctors based on your findings, and then consult all of them to determine who best fits your needs and expectations.

Taking all of the above things into account will pave the way for a successful surgery.

I hope this helps you ...best of luck.
